1 Pesem preizvrstna. Oči svoje naj bi povzdignil na one gore? Od kod naj mi pride pomoč?

A Song of Ascents. I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from?

2 Pomoč moja bodi od Gospoda, kateri je naredil nebesa in zemljo.

My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

3 Naj ne dopusti, da omahne noga tvoja, varuh tvoj naj ne spí.

He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber.

4 Glej, ne dremlje in ne spí varuh Izraelov.

Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 Gospod varuh tvoj, Gospod je senca tvoja na desni roki tvoji.

The LORD is your keeper. The LORD is your shade on your right hand.

6 Podnevi te ne bode zadevalo solnce, ali mesec ponoči.

The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

7 Gospod te bode varoval vsega zlega, varoval bode dušo tvojo.

The LORD will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul.

8 Gospod bode varoval hojo tvojo, od tega časa do vekomaj.

The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more.
