Psalmi 106
1 Aleluja! Slavite Gospoda, ker je dober, ker je vekomaj milost njegova.
Praise ye the LORD! O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; For his mercy endureth for ever!
2 Kdo bi dopovedal najvišjo moč Gospodovo, oznanil vso hvalo njegovo?
Who can utter the mighty deeds of the LORD? Who can show forth all his praise?
3 O blagor jim, ki se držé postave té, ki delajo pravico vsak čas!
Happy are they who have regard to justice, Who practise righteousness at all times!
4 Spomni se me, Gospod, po blagovoljnosti, katero izkazuješ svojemu ljudstvu, obišči me z blaginjo svojo.
Remember me, O LORD! with the favor promised to thy people; O visit me with thy salvation!
5 Da uživam izvoljenih tvojih dobroto, da se radujem radosti naroda tvojega; da se s posestjo tvojo ponašam.
That I may see the prosperity of thy chosen, That I may rejoice in the joy of thy people, That I may glory with thine inheritance!
6 Grešili smo z očeti svojimi: krivično smo delali, ravnali hudobno.
We have sinned with our fathers; We have committed iniquity; we have done wickedly.
7 Očetje naši niso umeli v Egiptu čudovitih dél tvojih; spominjali se niso milosti tvojih obilosti; temuč priliko so dajali izpremeniti jih pri morji, ko so stopali v morje trstovito.
Our fathers in Egypt did not regard thy wonders; They remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; But rebelled at the sea, the Red sea.
8 Vendar jih je rešil zavoljo imena svojega, da bi pokazal svojo moč.
Yet he saved them for his own name's sake. That he might make his mighty power to be known.
9 Ker zarotil je trstovito morje, in posušilo se je; in peljal jih je skozi valove kakor skozi puščavo.
He rebuked the Red sea, and it was dried up, And he led them through the deep as through a desert.
10 Tako jih je rešil roke sovražnikove; otel jih je neprijateljeve roke.
He saved them from the hand of him that hated them, And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
11 Pokrile pa so vode njih sovražnike; eden izmed njih ni ostal.
The waters covered their enemies; There was not one of them left.
12 Da sì so verjeli besedam njegovim, peli hvalo njegovo,
Then believed they his words, And sang his praise.
13 Pozabili so naglo dél njegovih; čakali niso sveta njegovega.
But they soon forgot his deeds, And waited not for his counsel.
14 Ampak iz poželjivosti v puščavi izkušali so Boga mogočnega v samoti.
They gave way to appetite in the wilderness, And tempted God in the desert;
15 Tako da je podelivši jim, kar so prosili, poslal kugo nad nje.
And he gave them their request, But sent upon them leanness.
16 Potem ko so bili nevoščljivi Mojzesu v šatorji, Aronu svetniku Gospodovemu,
They also envied Moses in the camp, And Aaron, the holy one of the LORD.
17 Odprla se je zemlja in požrla Datana in zagrnila je drhal Abiramovo.
Then the earth opened, and swallowed up Dathan, And covered the company of Abiram,
18 In vnel se je ogenj v njih drhal, in s plamenom požgal krivične.
And a fire was kindled in their company; The flames burned up the wicked.
19 Naredili so tele na Horebu, in klanjali so se podobi.
They made a calf in Horeb, And worshipped a molten image;
20 In premenivši čast svojo v podobo vola, ki travo jé,
They changed their God of glory Into the image of a grass-eating ox.
21 Pozabili so Boga mogočnega, rešitelja svojega, kateri je bil storil velike reči v Egiptu,
They forgot God, their saviour, Who had done such great things in Egypt,
22 Čudovita dela v deželi Kamovi, strašna pri trstovitem morji.
Such wonders in the land of Ham. Such terrible things at the Red sea.
23 Zatorej je rekel, da jih bode pogubil; ko bi ne bil Mojzes, izvoljenec njegov, stopil v ón predór pred njim, da bi odvrnil jezo njegovo, da jih ne pogubi.
Then he said that he would destroy them; Had not Moses, his chosen, stood before him in the breach, To turn away his wrath, that he might not destroy them.
24 Zavrgli so tudi zaželeno deželo, ne verujoč besedi njegovi.
They also despised the pleasant land, And believed not his word;
25 In godrnjaje v šatorih svojih niso poslušali glasú Gospodovega.
But murmured in their tents, And would not hearken to the voice of the LORD.
26 Zatorej je dvignil roko svojo ter prisegel, da jih podere v sami puščavi.
Then he lifted up his hand against them, And swore that he would make them fall in the wilderness;
27 In da podere seme njih med narodi, in razkropi jih po deželah.
That he would overthrow their descendants among the nations, And scatter them in the lands.
28 Razen tega so se združili tudi z malikom Peorjem, in jedli mrtvih daritve.
They also gave themselves to the worship of Baal-peor, And ate sacrifices offered to lifeless idols.
29 Klicali so tako Boga v nevoljo z deli svojimi, da je pridrla nad nje nadloga.
Thus they provoked his anger by their practices, And a plague broke in upon them.
30 Dokler ni vstal Pineas in storil sodbo, ter je bila ustavljena tista nadloga;
Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment, And the plague was stayed.
31 Kar se mu je štelo za pravico, od roda do roda vekomaj.
And this was counted to him for righteousness, To all generations for ever.
32 Enako so razdražili gorečo jezo pri vodah prepira, tako da se je slabo godilo Mojzesu zavoljo njih.
They provoked him also at the waters of Meribah [[strife]], And evil befell Moses on their account.
33 Ko so bili razdražili duha njegovega, in je izgovoril z ustnami svojimi razdraženje svoje:
For they provoked his spirit, So that he spake inconsiderately with his lips.
34 Pokončali niso onih ljudstev, za katera jim je bil zapovedal Gospod;
They did not destroy the nations, As Jehovah had commanded them.
35 Ampak pomešali so se z onimi narodi in naučili se njih dél.
They mingled themselves with the peoples, And learned their practices.
36 In čestili so njih podobe, katere so bile njim v izpotiko.
They even worshipped their idols, Which became to them a snare.
37 Ker darovali so sinove svoje in hčere svoje hudobnim duhovom;
Their sons and their daughters they sacrificed to demons,
38 In prelivali so nedolžno kri, kri sinov svojih in hčer svojih, katere so darovali podobam Kanaanskim, tako da je bila zemlja onečiščena z njih moritvami.
And shed innocent blood, The blood of their own sons and daughters, Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; And the land was polluted with blood.
39 In oskrunjali so se sè svojimi deli; prešestvovali z dejanji svojimi.
Thus they defiled themselves with their works, And played the harlot with their practices.
40 Zatorej se je razsrdil Gospod nad ljudstvom svojim in studil svojo posest,
Then burned the anger of the LORD against his people, So that he abhorred his own inheritance.
41 Tako da jih je dal v roko narodom, da bi jim gospodovali njih sovražniki, črtilci,
And he gave them into the hand of the nations, And they who hated them ruled over them.
42 In jih zatirali njih neprijatelji, in da bi se poniževali pod njih roko.
Their enemies oppressed them, And they were bowed down under their hand.
43 Mnogokrat jih je rešil, dasì so ga bili razsrdili z naklepom svojim, in so bili ponižani zavoljo krivice svoje.
Many times did he deliver them; But they provoked him by their devices, And they were brought low for their iniquities.
44 Ozrl se je na njih stisko, slišal je njih vpitje.
Yet, when he heard their cries, He had regard to their affliction;
45 In spomnivši se zá nje zaveze svoje, kesal se je po obilosti milosti svojih;
He remembered his covenant with them, And repented according to the greatness of his mercy,
46 Tako da jim je izkazal usmiljenje pred vsemí, kateri so jih v sužnjosti imeli.
And caused them to find pity Among all that carried them captive.
47 Reši nas, Gospod, Bog naš, in zberi nas izmed tistih narodov, da slavimo sveto ime tvoje, in se s hvaljenjem priporočamo v hvali tvoji,
Save us, O Jehovah, our God! and gather us from among the nations, That we may give thanks to thy holy name, And glory in thy praise!
48 Blagoslovljen Gospod, Izraelov Bog, od veka do veka in vse ljudstvo naj govori: Aleluja!
[Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, From everlasting to everlasting! And let all the people say, Amen! Praise ye Jehovah!]
