Matej 10
1 In poklicavši svojih dvanajst učencev, dá jim oblast nad nečistimi duhovi, da jih izganjajo, in da uzdravljajo vsako bolezen in vsako slabost.
So summoning His twelve disciples He gave them authority over unclean spirits so as to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every illness.
2 Dvanajsterih aposteljnov imena so pa ta: Prvi Simon, ki se imenuje Peter, in Andrej brat njegov; Jakob sin Zebedejev, in Janez brat njegov;
Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: first Simon (the one called Peter) and Andrew his brother, James (the son of Zebedee) and John his brother,
3 Filip, in Jernej; Tomaž, in Matevž mitar; Jakob sin Alfejev, in Lebej s priimkom Tadej.
Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew (the tax collector), James (the son of Alphaeus) and Lebbaeus (who was surnamed Thaddeus),
4 Simon Kananičan, in Juda Iškarijan, kteri ga je tudi izdal.
Simon (the Canaanite) and Judas Iscariot (who also betrayed Him).
5 Teh dvajnast pošlje Jezus, in zapové jim, govoreč: Ne hodite na pogansko pot, in ne vnidite v Samarijansko mesto,
These twelve Jesus sent out, and commanded them saying: “Do not go off into the road of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans.
6 Marveč pojdite k izgubljenim ovcam Izraelove hiše.
But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 Hodé pa oznanjujte, in pravite: Približalo se je nebeško kraljestvo.
And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of the heavens has come near.’
8 Bolnike uzdravljajte, gobavce očiščajte, mrtve obujajte, hudiče izganjajte: zastonj ste prejeli, zastonj dajte.
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. You have received free of charge, give free of charge.
9 Ne jemljite zlata, ne srebra, ne denarja v pasu svojem;
Do not provide gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts,
10 Ne torbe na pot, ne dveh plaščev, ne obutala, ne palice: kajti vreden je delalec svoje hrane.
nor a knapsack for the road, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; because the worker is worthy of his food.
11 V kterokoli mesto ali vas pa vnidete, pozvedite, kdo v njej je vreden; in tam ostanite, dokler ne izidete.
“In whatever city or village you may enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and stay there until you go out.
12 Ko pa vnidete v hišo, pozdravite jo.
Upon entering the house, greet it;
13 In če je hiša vredna, pride naj mir vaš na njo; če pa ni vredna, vrne naj se mir vaš k vam.
and should the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it; but should it not be worthy, let your peace return to you.
14 In če vas kdo ne sprejme, in tudi besed vaših ne posluša, izidite iz tiste hiše ali tistega mesta, in otresite prah z nog svojih.
And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, as you go out from that house or city shake off the dust from your feet.
15 Resnično vam pravim: Laže bo Sodomskej in Gomorskej zemlji v dan sodbe, nego tistemu mestu.
Assuredly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the Day of judgment than for that city!
16 Glej, jaz vas pošiljam kakor ovce sred volkov: bodite torej razumni kakor kače, in priprosti kakor golobje.
“Now then, I am sending you out like sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be prudent like snakes and innocent like doves.
17 Varujte se pa ljudî; kajti izročevali vas bodo sodnijam, in po shajališčih svojih vas bodo bičali.
But beware of the people, for they will hand you over to councils and flog you in their synagogues.
18 Popeljejo vas pa tudi pred vladarje in kralje za voljo mene, njim in narodom za pričo.
And you will be brought before governors and even kings for my sake, as a testimony to them and to the nations.
19 Kedar vas pa izročé, ne skrbite, kako in kaj bi govorili; kajti dalo vam se bo tisti čas, kako in kaj boste govorili.
But whenever they hand you over, do not worry about how or what you will speak, for it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak;
20 Ker ne boste govorili vi, nego duh očeta vašega bo govoril v vas.
for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
21 Izdajal bo pa brat brata v smrt, in oče sina; in otroci bodo vstali zoper roditelje, in morili jih bodo.
“Furthermore, brother will hand over brother to death, and a father a child, and children will rise up against parents and put them to death.
22 In sovražili vas bodo vsi za voljo imena mojega; kdor pa pretrpí do kraja, ta se bo zveličal.
And you will be hated by all for my name's sake; but the one enduring to the end, he will be delivered.
23 Kedar vas pa v tem mestu preženó, bežite v drugo. Kajti resnično vam pravim: Ne boste prehodili mest Izraelovih dotlej, ko pride sin človečji.
But whenever they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly I say to you, you will certainly not go through all the cities of Israel before the Son of the Man comes.
24 Ni ga učenca nad učenika, tudi ne hlapca nad gospodarja svojega.
A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his master.
25 Dovolj je učencu, da postane kakor učenik njegov, in hlapec kakor gospodar njegov. Če so pa hišnega gospodarja imenovali Belzebula, koliko bolj domače njegove?
It is enough for a disciple that he become like his teacher, and a slave like his master. Since they have stigmatized the master of the house as Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!
26 Ne bojte se jih torej: ker nič ni prikritega, kar se ne bo odkrilo; in skrivnega, kar se ne bo zvedelo.
So do not fear them; because there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, and secret that will not be known.
27 Kar vam pravim v temi, povejte na svetlem; in kar slišite na uho, razglasite s streh.
“What I tell you in the dark, say in the light; and what you hear in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.
28 In ne bojte se tistih, kteri ubijajo telo, duše pa ne morejo ubiti; bojte se pa marveč tistega, kteri more dušo in telo pogubiti v peklu. (Geenna g1067)
And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear the One who is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell. (Geenna g1067)
29 Mar se ne prodajata dva vrabca za vinar? pa ne eden od nju ne pade na zemljo brez očeta vašega.
Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father's will.
30 Vam so pa tudi lasjé na glavi vsi prešteti.
Why even the hairs of your head are all numbered!
31 Ne bojte se torej; vi ste bolji od mnogo vrabcev.
Therefore do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
32 Vsak torej, kdor spozná mene pred ljudmí, spoznal bom tudi jaz njega pred očetom svojim, ki je na nebesih.
“Now then, everyone who will confess me before the people, I will also confess him before my Father who is in the heavens.
33 Kdorkoli pa zatají mene pred ljudmí, zatajil bom tudi jaz njega pred očetom svojim, ki je na nebesih.
But whoever should deny me before the people, I will also deny him before my Father who is in the heavens.
34 Ne mislite, da sem prišel, da prinesem mir na zemljo; nisem prišel, da prinesem mir, nego meč.
“Do not suppose that I came to bring peace on the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
35 Kajti prišel sem, da ločim človeka od očeta njegovega, in hčer od matere njene, in nèvesto od tašče njene.
For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;
36 In sovražniki človeku bodo domačini njegovi.
and a man's enemies will be those of his own household.
37 Kdor ljubi očeta ali mater bolj nego mene, ni mene vreden; in kdor ljubi sina ali hčer bolj nego mene, ni mene vreden;
“The one who is more devoted to father or mother than to me is not worthy of me, and the one who is more devoted to son or daughter than to me is not worthy of me;
38 In kdor ne vzeme križa svojega, in gre za menoj, ni mene vreden.
and he who does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me.
39 Kdor življenje svoje najde, izgubil ga bo; in kdor življenje svoje izgubí za voljo mene, našel ga bo.
The one ‘finding’ his life will lose it, and the one ‘losing’ his life for my sake will find it.
40 Kdor sprejema vas, sprejema mene; in kdor sprejema mene, sprejema tistega, kteri me je poslal.
“The one receiving you receives me, and the one receiving me receives the One who sent me.
41 Kdor sprejema preroka v ime preroka, prejel bo preroško plačilo; in kdor sprejema pravičnega v ime pravičnega, prejel bo plačilo pravičnega.
The one receiving a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet's reward, and the one receiving a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man's reward.
42 In če kdo napojí enega od teh malih samo s kupico studenčnice v ime učenca, resnično vam pravim, ne bo izgubil plačila svojega.
And whoever should give so much as a cup of cold water to one of these little ones, in the name of a disciple, assuredly I say to you, he will certainly not lose his reward.”
