Janez 17

1 To je povedal Jezus, ter povzdigne očí svoje na nebo, in reče: Oče, prišel je čas; oslavi sina svojega, da tudi sin tvoj tebe oslavi:

THESE things spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son may glorify thee:

2 Kakor si mu dal oblast nad vsem človeštvom, da vsem ktere si mu dal, dá večno življenje. (aiōnios g166)

even as thou hast given him authority over all flesh, that with regard to all those whom thou hast given him, he should give to them eternal life: (aiōnios g166)

3 Večno življenje je pa to, da poznajo tebe edinega resničnega Boga, in kogar si poslal, Jezusa Kristusa. (aiōnios g166)

and this is eternal life, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou hast sent, Jesus, the Messiah. (aiōnios g166)

4 Jaz sem te oslavil na zemlji; delo, ktero si mi dal, da ga storim, dodelal sem.

I have glorified thee upon earth: I have completed the work which thou gavest me to perform.

5 Sedaj pa oslavi, oče, ti mene sam pri sebi, s slavo, ktero sem imel pri tebi, predno je svet postal.

And now, Father, do thou glorify me with thyself in the glory which I held with thee before the world was.

6 Razodel sem ime tvoje ljudém, ktere si mi dal od sveta; tvoji so bili, in meni si jih dal: in besedo tvojo so ohranili.

I have made known thy name to the persons whom thou gavest me out of the world: for thee they had a being, and to me thou hast given them; and thy word have they kept.

7 Sedaj vedó, da je vse, kar si mi dal, od tebe:

Now have they known, that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are from thee.

8 Kajti besede, ktere si meni dal, dal sem njim; in oni so sprejeli, in razpoznali so resnično, da sem od tebe izšel, in verovali so, da si me ti poslal.

For the declarations which thou gavest to me I have delivered to them; and they have received them, and have known assuredly that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou hast sent me.

9 Jaz prosim za-nje; ne prosim za svet, nego za té, ktere si mi dal, ker so tvoji.

I entreat for them: I make no request for the world; but for those thou hast given me; for they are thine.

10 In vse moje je tvoje, in tvoje moje; in oslavil sem se v njih.

And all mine are thine, and thine mine; and I have been glorified in them.

11 In nisem več na svetu, in tí so na svetu, in jaz grem k tebi. Oče sveti! ohrani jih v ime svoje, ktere si mi dal, da bodo eno, kakor mi.

And now no longer am I in this world, but these are in the world, and I am coming to thee. Holy Father! preserve them for thy name’s sake whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

12 Dokler sem bil ž njimi na svetu, varoval sem jih v ime tvoje; ohranil sem jih, ktere si mi dal, in nobeden njih ni poginil, razen sin pogube, da se izpolni pismo.

When I was with them in the world, I preserved them by thy name: those whom thou hast given me have I guarded, and not one of them is perished, except the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

13 A sedaj grem k tebi, in to govorim na svetu, da bodo imeli radost mojo izpolnjeno v sebi.

But now I am coming to thee; and I am speaking these things in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

14 Jaz sem jim dal besedo tvojo, in svet jih sovraži, ker niso od sveta, kakor jaz nisem od sveta.

I have given them thy word and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

15 Ne prosim, da jih s sveta vzemi, nego da jih obvaruj zlega.

I entreat not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest preserve them from the wicked one.

16 Od sveta niso, kakor jaz nisem od sveta.

They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

17 Posveti jih v resnici svojej; tvoja beseda je resnica.

Sanctify them by thy truth: thy word is truth.

18 Kakor si mene poslal na svet, poslal sem tudi jaz njih na svet.

As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I sent them into the world.

19 In za njih se jaz sam posvečujem, da bodo tudi oni posvečeni v resnici.

And for them I devote myself, that they also might be sanctified by the truth.

20 Ne prosim te pa samo za té, nego tudi za tiste, kteri bodo po njih besedi verovali v mé:

And not for them do I make request only, but also for those who shall believe in me through their word;

21 Da bodo vsi eno; kakor ti, oče, v meni, in jaz v tebi, da bodo tudi oni v nas eno: da bo svet veroval, da si me ti poslal.

that all may be one; as thou, Father, in me, and I in thee, that these also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 In jaz sem slavo, ktero si meni dal, njim dal; da bodo eno, kakor smo mi eno:

And I have given them the glory, which thou hast given me; that they may be one, even as we are one:

23 Jaz v njih, in ti v meni, da bodo združeni v eno, in da spozna svet, da si me ti poslal, in si jih ljubil, kakor si mene ljubil.

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

24 Oče, ktere si mi dal, bočem, da kjer jaz bom, da bodo tudi oni z menoj: da bodo videli mojo slavo, ktero si mi dal, ker si me ljubil, predno je svet postal.

Father, those whom thou hast given me, I will that where I am they may also be with me; that they may behold my glory, which thou gavest me: because thou hast loved me before the foundation of the world.

25 Oče pravični! svet tebe ni poznal, a jaz sem te poznal, in ti so poznali, da si me li poslal.

Righteous Father! though the world hath not known thee, yet I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

26 In oznanil sem jim ime tvoje, in oznanjeval ga bom: da bo ljubezen, s ktero si mene ljubil, v njih, in jaz v njih.

And I have made known to them thy name, and will make it known: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
