Efežanom 6
1 Otroci, bodite poslušni roditeljem svojim v Gospodu, ker to je pravično.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
2 "Spoštuj očeta svojega in mater," ta je zapoved prva z obljubo:
“Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise—
3 "Da se ti bode dobro godilo in bodeš dolgo živel na zemlji."
“that it may go well with you and you may live long on the earth.”
4 In očetje, ne dražite svojih otrók, nego vzrejajte jih v nauku in strahu Gospodovem.
And fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of Sovereign.
5 Hlapci, bodite poslušni gospodom po mesu, sè strahom in trepetom, v preprostoti srca svojega, kakor Kristusu;
Slaves, obey your human masters with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ;
6 Ne po okoslužnosti kakor ljudém ugajajoč, nego kakor hlapci Kristusovi, delajoč voljo Božjo iz duše,
not only when being watched, to please men, but as slaves of the Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
7 Z dobrovoljnostjo, služeč Gospodu, in ne ljudém,
serving with a good attitude, as to the Lord and not to men,
8 Vedoč, da kar kdo storí dobrega, to bode dobil od Gospoda, bodi si hlapec, ali svobodnjak.
knowing that whatever good each one does, he will receive the same again from the Lord, whether he is slave or free.
9 In gospodje, delajte isto z njimi, odjenjajoč s pretenjem, vedóč, da tudi vaš gospod je v nebesih, in da licegledja ni pri njem.
And masters, be the same way towards them, giving up threatening, knowing that your own Master is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him.
10 V ostalem, bratje moji, ojačite se v Gospodu, in v kreposti moči njegove.
Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.
11 Odenite se z orožjem Božjim, da bodete mogli stati zoper zvijače hudičeve.
Put on the full armor of God so as to be able to stand firm against the stratagems of the devil.
12 Ker boj nam ni zoper kri in meso, nego zoper poglavarstva, zoper oblasti, zoper svétovne mogočnike temé tega svetá, zoper duhove hudobe v nebesih. (aiōn g165)
Because, our wrestling match is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the authorities, against the world-rulers of the darkness of this age, against the malignant spirits in the heavenly realms. (aiōn g165)
13 Za to primite orožje Božje, da bodete mogli ustavljati se o hudem dnevi in stati vse premagavši.
That is why you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, to stand firm, with everything in place.
14 Stojte torej, bedro svoje opasavši si z resnico, in oblečeni s pravice oklepom,
So stand firm, having belted your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 In noge obute s pripravljenostjo evangelja mirú;
and having shod your feet with the readiness of the Gospel of the peace;
16 Razen tega zgrabivši ščit vere, s katerim bodete mogli ugasiti vse goreče strele hudobnega.
above all, having taken up the shield of the faith, with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the malignant one;
17 In vzemite šlem blaginje, in meč Duhá, kateri je beseda Božja;
also, grasp the helmet of the salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is God's Word spoken;
18 In sè sleherno molitvijo in prošnjo molite vsak čas v Duhu, in prav za to čujte v vsej stanovitnosti in prošnji za vse svete,
praying at all times in the Spirit, using every prayer and petition, yes being watchful to this end with all perseverance and petition for all the saints
19 In zame, da se mi dá beseda v odpiranji ust mojih, da s prostodušnostjo oznanjam skrivnost evangelja,
—on my behalf too, that when I open my mouth utterance may be given to me with boldness, to make known the mystery of the Gospel,

for which I am an ambassador in chains; that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to do.
21 Da pa veste tudi vi, kar mene zadeva, kako se mi zdi, naznanil vam bode vse Tihik, brat ljubljeni in zvesti služabnik v Gospodu,
Now that you also may know my affairs, how I am doing, Tychicus, the dear brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will tell you everything;
22 Katerega sem poslal k vam prav za to, da veste, kako je z nami, in da potolaži srca vaša.
whom I have sent to you for this very purpose: that you may know our circumstances and that he may comfort your hearts.
23 Mir bratom in ljubezen z vero od Boga očeta in Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa.
Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and Sovereign Jesus Christ.
