Rimljanom 15

1 Torej moramo mi, ki smo močni, prenašati slabotnosti šibkih, ne pa da ugajamo sebi.

We are bound, however, we, who are strong, the weakness of them who are not strong to be bearing, and not, unto ourselves, to give pleasure.

2 Naj vsak izmed nas ugaja svojemu bližnjemu v njegovo dobro, za izgrajevanje.

Let, each one of us, unto his neighbour give pleasure—for what is good unto upbuilding;

3 Kajti celó Kristus ni ugajal sebi; temveč, kakor je pisano: ›Graje teh, ki so te grajali, so padle name.‹

For, even the Christ, not unto himself gave pleasure, but, even as it is written—The reproaches of them that we reproaching thee, fell upon me:

4 Kajti katerekoli stvari so bile vnaprej napisane, so bile napisane za naše učenje, da bi lahko preko potrpežljivosti in tolažbe iz pisem imeli upanje.

Whatsoever things, in fact, were written aforetime, [all] for our own instruction were written, —in order that, through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have their hope.

5 Naj vam torej Bog potrpežljivosti in tolažbe zagotovi, da boste istih misli drug do drugega glede na Kristusa Jezusa;

Now may, the God of the endurance and of the encouragement, give you, the same thing, to be regarding amongst one another, according to Christ Jesus;

6 da boste lahko z enim umom in enimi usti slavili Boga, celó Očeta našega Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa.

In order that, with one accord, with one mouth, ye maybe glorifying the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

7 Zatorej sprejemajte drug drugega, kakor je tudi Kristus nas sprejel v Božjo slavo.

Wherefore receive ye one another, even as, Christ also, hath received us unto the glory of God: —

8 Torej pravim, da je bil Jezus Kristus služabnik obreze za Božjo resnico, da potrdi obljube, narejene očetom,

For I affirm Christ to have become a minister of circumcision in behalf of the truth of God, —to confirm the promises of the fathers,

9 in da lahko pogani zaradi njegovega usmiljenja slavijo Boga; kakor je pisano: ›Zaradi tega razloga te bom priznal med pogani in prepeval tvojemu imenu.‹

And that, the nations, for mercy should glorify God: —even as it is written—For this cause, will I openly confess unto thee among nations, and, unto thy name, will strike the strings;

10 In ponovno pravi: ›Veselite se, vi pogani, z njegovimi ljudmi.‹

And again he saith—Be glad ye nations with his people;

11 In ponovno: ›Hvalíte Gospoda, vsi pogani; in povzdigujte ga vsi ljudje.‹

And again, —Be giving praise all ye nations unto the Lord, and let all the peoples repeat his praise;

12 In ponovno Izaija pravi: ›Jesejeva korenina bo in tisti, ki se bo dvignil, da kraljuje nad pogani; vanj bodo zaupali pogani.‹

And, again, Isaiah, saith—There shall be the root of Jesse, and he that ariseth to rule nations, —upon, him, shall nations hope.

13 Torej Bog upanja naj vas napolni z velikim veseljem in mirom v verovanju, da boste, po môči Svetega Duha, obilni v upanju.

Now, the God of the hope, fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that ye may surpass in the hope, in the power of Holy Spirit.

14 In tudi jaz sam sem prepričan o vas, moji bratje, da ste tudi vi polni dobrote, izpolnjeni z vsem spoznanjem, zmožni tudi drug drugega opominjati.

But I am persuaded my brethren, —even, I myself, concerning you: that, ye yourselves, also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also, unto one another, to be ministering admonition:

15 Vendar, bratje, zaradi milosti, ki mi je dana od Boga, sem vam napisal na nek način pogumneje, kakor da vas spomnim,

Howbeit, the more boldly, have I written unto you, —in some measure, as bringing it back to your minds, —by reason of the favour given unto me from God, —

16 da naj bi bil jaz služabnik Jezusa Kristusa za pogane, ko služim Božjemu evangeliju, da bi bila daritev poganov, posvečena po Svetem Duhu, lahko sprejemljiva.

That I should be a public minister of Christ Jesus unto the nations, doing priestly service with the glad-message of God, in order that the offering up of the nations might prove to be acceptable, being hallowed in Holy Spirit:

17 Torej imam nekaj, s čimer se lahko po Jezusu Kristusu ponašam v teh stvareh, ki se nanašajo na Boga.

I have, therefore, [my] boasting in Christ Jesus in the things pertaining to God, —

18 Kajti ne bom si drznil govoriti o katerikoli izmed tistih stvari, ki jih Kristus ni naredil po meni, da bi naredil pogane poslušne v besedi in dejanju,

For I wilt not dare to speak anything save of the things which Christ hath wrought out for himself through me for the obedience of nations, —by word and deed,

19 preko mogočnih znamenj in čudežev, po moči Božjega Duha; tako da sem od Jeruzalema in naokoli do Ilirika obširno oznanil Kristusov evangelij.

By the power of signs and wonders, by the power of [Holy Spirit]; so that I, from Jerusalem and in a circuit as far as Illyricum, have fulfilled the glad-message of the Christ, —

20 Da, tako sem si prizadeval, da ne oznanim evangelija, kjer je bil Kristus imenovan, da ne bi gradil na temelju drugega človeka,

Although, thus, —as ambitious to be announcing the glad-message—not where Christ had been named, lest, upon another’s foundation, I should be building;

21 temveč kakor je pisano: ›Katerim ni bilo govorjeno, bodo videli; in tisti, ki niso slišali, bodo razumeli.‹

But, even as it is written—They shall see unto whom had been announced no tidings concerning him, and, they who had not heard, shall understand.

22 Zaradi tega razloga sem bil tudi sam zelo oviran, da pridem k vam.

Wherefore, also, I have been hindered these many times from coming unto you;

23 Toda sedaj, ko v teh krajih nimam več prostora in imam ta mnoga leta veliko željo, da pridem k vam;

But, now, no longer having place in these regions, and having had, a longing, to come unto you a good many years, —

24 kadarkoli se odpravim na svoje potovanje v Španijo, bom prišel k vam, kajti zaupam, da vas na svojem potovanju vidim in da bom na svoji poti tja priveden mimo vas, da bi bil najprej nekoliko izpolnjen z vašo druščino.

As soon as I am journey to Spain, —I am hoping, in fact, when journeying through to get sight of you, and by you to be set forward thither, —if, with your company, I have first in some measure been satisfied.

25 Toda sedaj grem v Jeruzalem, da služim svetim.

But, now, I am journeying unto Jerusalem, ministering unto the saints;

26 Kajti tem iz Makedonije in Ahaje je ugajalo, da zberejo nek prispevek za revne svete, ki so v Jeruzalemu.

For Macedonia and Achaia have been well-pleased to make a certain fellowship for the destitute of the saints who are in Jerusalem, —

27 To jih je resnično veselilo; in njihovi dolžniki so. Kajti če so pogani postali soudeleženi njihovih duhovnih stvari, je tudi njihova dolžnost, da jim služijo v mesenih stvareh.

They have been well-pleased, indeed, —and, their debtors, they are; for, if, with their spiritual things the nations have come into fellowship, they are bound also with their own carnal things to minister publicly unto them.

28 Ko bom torej to opravil in jim zapečatil ta sad, bom mimo vas prišel v Španijo.

This, then, having completed, and sealed unto them this fruit, I will come back by you unto Spain: —

29 In prepričan sem, ko pridem k vam, da bom prišel v polnosti blagoslova Kristusovega evangelija.

And know that, when I come unto you, in the fullness of the blessing of Christ, I shall come.

30 Sedaj vas rotim, bratje, zaradi Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa in zaradi ljubezni Duha, da se skupaj z menoj borite v svojih molitvah zame k Bogu;

I beseech you, moreover, [brethren], through our Lord Jesus Christ, and through the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers on my behalf unto God, —

31 da bom lahko rešen pred temi, ki v Judeji ne verujejo; in da bodo mojo službo, ki jo imam za Jeruzalem, sveti lahko sprejeli;

In order that I may be delivered from them who do not yield in Judaea, and, my ministry which is unto Jerusalem, may prove to be acceptable unto the saints;

32 da bom lahko po Božji volji z veseljem prišel k vam in bom lahko skupaj z vami okrepčan.

In order that, with joy coming unto you through God’s will, I may together with you find rest.

33 Torej Bog miru bodi z vami vsemi. Amen.

Now, the God of peace, be with you all. Amen.
