Psalmi 97
1 Gospod kraljuje, naj se zemlja veseli, naj bo množica otokov vesela le-tega.
Jehovah reigneth; let the earth rejoice; Let the multitude of isles be glad.
2 Oblaki in tema so okoli njega. Pravičnost in sodba sta prebivališče njegovega prestola.
Clouds and darkness are round about him: Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
3 Ogenj gre pred njim in naokrog požiga njegove sovražnike.
A fire goeth before him, And burneth up his adversaries round about.
4 Njegovi bliski so razsvetlili zemeljski [krog]; zemlja je videla in trepetala.
His lightnings lightened the world: The earth saw, and trembled.
5 Hribi so se ob Gospodovi prisotnosti topili kakor vosek, ob prisotnosti Gospoda celotne zemlje.
The mountains melted like wax at the presence of Jehovah, At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
6 Nebesa oznanjujejo njegovo pravičnost in vsa ljudstva vidijo njegovo slavo.
The heavens declare his righteousness, And all the peoples have seen his glory.
7 Zbegani so vsi tisti, ki služijo rezanim podobam, ki se bahajo z maliki; obožujte ga, vsi vi bogovi.
Let all them be put to shame that serve graven images, That boast themselves of idols: Worship him, all ye gods.
8 Sion je slišal in je bil vesel in judovske hčere so se veselile zaradi tvojih sodb, oh Gospod.
Zion heard and was glad, And the daughters of Judah rejoiced, Because of thy judgments, O Jehovah.
9 Kajti ti, Gospod, si dvignjen nad vso zemljo. Zelo si vzvišen nad vsemi bogovi.
For thou, Jehovah, art most high above all the earth: Thou art exalted far above all gods.
10 Vi, ki ljubite Gospoda, sovražite zlo. On varuje duše svojih svetih; osvobaja jih iz roke zlobnega.
O ye that love Jehovah, hate evil: He preserveth the souls of his saints; He delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
11 Svetloba je posejana za pravičnega in veselje za iskrenega v srcu.
Light is sown for the righteous, And gladness for the upright in heart.
12 Veselite se v Gospodu, vi pravični in zahvaljujte se pri spominjanju njegove svetosti.
Be glad in Jehovah, ye righteous; And give thanks to his holy memorial [name].
