Psalmi 83
1 Ne bodi tiho, oh Bog. Ne molči in ne bodi molčeč, oh Bog.
A Song of a Psalm for Asaph. O God, who shall be compared to you? be not silent, neither be still, O God.
2 Kajti glej, tvoji sovražniki pripravljajo upor in tisti, ki te sovražijo, so povzdignili glavo.
For behold, your enemies have made a noise; and they that hate you have lifted up the head.
3 Zoper tvoje ljudstvo so sprejeli prebrisan nasvet in se posvetovali zoper tvoje skrite.
Against your people they have craftily imagined a device, and have taken counsel against your saints.
4 Rekli so: »Pridimo in odrežimo jih od tega, da so narod, da Izraelovo ime ne bo več v spominu.«
They have said, Come, and let us utterly destroy them out of the nation; and let the name of Israel be remembered no more at all.
5 Kajti skupaj so se soglasno posvetovali, združeni so zoper tebe:
For they have taken counsel together with one consent: they have made a confederacy against you;
6 Edómova šotorska svetišča in Izmaelci; Moábovci in Hagárovci;
even the tents of the Idumeans, and the Ismaelites; Moab, and the Agarenes;
7 Gebál, Amón in Amálek; Filistejci s prebivalci Tira;
Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalec; the Philistines also, with them that dwell at Tyre.
8 pridružen jim je tudi Asúr. Pomagali so Lotovim sinovom. (Sela)
Yes, Assur too is come with them: they have become a help to the children of Lot. (Pause)
9 Stôri jim kakor Midjáncem, kakor Siseráju, kakor Jabínu pri potoku Kišón,
Do you to them as to Madiam, and to Sisera; as to Jabin at the brook of Kison.
10 ki so bili pokončani pri En Doru. Postali so kakor gnoj za zemljo.
They were utterly destroyed at Aendor: they became as dung for the earth.
11 Naredite njihove plemiče kakor Oréba in kakor Zeéba. Da, vse njihove prince kot Zebaha in kot Calmunája,
Make their princes as Oreb and Zeb, and Zebee and Salmana; [even] all their princes:
12 ki so rekli: »Vzemimo si Božje hiše v posest.«
who said, let us take to ourselves the altar of God as an inheritance.
13 Oh moj Bog, naredi jih kot pleve, kakor strnišče pred vetrom.
O my God, make them as a wheel; as stubble before the face of the wind.
14 Kakor ogenj požiga gozd in kakor plamen zažiga gore,
As fire which shall burn up a wood, as the flame may consume the mountains;
15 tako jih preganjaj s svojim neurjem in s svojim viharjem jih naredi prestrašene.
so shall you persecute them with your tempest, and trouble them in your anger.
16 Njihove obraze napolni s sramoto, da bodo lahko iskali tvoje ime, oh Gospod.
Fill their faces with dishonour; so shall they seek your name, O Lord.
17 Naj bodo zasramovani in zbegani na veke; da, naj bodo osramočeni in [naj] se pogubijo,
Let them be ashamed and troubled for evermore; yes, let them be confounded and destroyed.
18 da bodo ljudje lahko vedeli, da si ti, čigar ime samó je Jahve, najvišji nad vso zemljo.
And let them know that your name is Lord; that you alone are Most High over all the earth.
