Psalmi 72
1 Daj kralju svoje sodbe, oh Bog in svojo pravičnost kraljevemu sinu.
Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness to the king's son.
2 Tvoje ljudstvo bo sodil s pravičnostjo in tvoje uboge s sodbo.
He will judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with justice.
3 Gore bodo ljudstvu prinesle mir in majhni hribi po pravičnosti.
The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the hills, in righteousness.
4 Sodil bo uboge izmed ljudstva, rešil bo otroke pomoči potrebnih, zatiralca pa bo razbil na koščke.
He will judge the poor of the people. He will save the sons of the needy, and will break in pieces the oppressor.
5 Bali se te bodo, dokler ostajata sonce in luna, skozi vse rodove.
They shall fear thee while the sun endures, and as long as the moon, throughout all generations.
6 Prišel bo dol kakor dež na pokošeno travo, kakor nalivi, ki namakajo zemljo.
He will come down like rain upon the mown grass, as showers that water the earth.
7 V njegovih dneh bo pravični cvetel in obilje miru tako dolgo, kot ostaja luna.
In his days righteousness shall flourish, and abundance of peace, till the moon is no more.
8 Imel bo tudi gospostvo od morja do morja in od reke do koncev zemlje.
He shall also have dominion from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.
9 Tisti, ki prebivajo v divjini, se bodo poklonili pred njim, njegovi sovražniki pa bodo lizali prah.
Those who dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him, and his enemies shall lick the dust.
10 Kralji iz Taršíša in z otokov bodo prinašali darila. Kralji iz Sabe in Sebe bodo ponujali darove.
The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall render tribute. The kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
11 Da, vsi kralji bodo padli dol pred njim. Služili mu bodo vsi narodi.
Yea, all kings shall fall down before him. All nations shall serve him.
12 Kajti osvobodil bo pomoči potrebnega, ko vpije; tudi ubogega in tistega, ki nima pomočnika.
For he will deliver a needy man when he cries, and a poor man, who has no helper.
13 Prizanesel bo ubogemu in pomoči potrebnemu in rešil duše pomoči potrebnih.
He will have pity on a poor and needy man, and he will save the souls of the needy.
14 Njihove duše bo odkupil pred prevaro in nasiljem, in njihova kri bo dragocena v njegovem pogledu.
He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence. And their blood will be precious in his sight,
15 Živel bo in njemu bo dano od zlata iz Sabe. Zanj bo narejena tudi nenehna molitev in dnevno bo hvaljen.
and they shall live. And to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba. And men shall pray for him continually. They shall bless him all the day long.
16 Prgišče žita bo na zemlji do vrhov gorá. Njen sad se bo tresel kakor Libanon in tisti iz mesta bodo cveteli kakor zemeljska trava.
There shall be abundance of grain in the earth upon the top of the mountains. The fruit of it shall shake like Lebanon. And they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.
17 Njegovo ime bo ostalo na veke. Njegovo ime se bo razširjalo, dokler [bo] sonce in ljudje bodo blagoslovljeni v njem. Vsi narodi ga bodo imenovali blagoslovljen.
His name shall endure forever. His name shall be continued as long as the sun. And men shall be blessed in him. All nations shall call him blessed.
18 Blagoslovljen bodi Gospod Bog, Izraelov Bog, ki edini dela čudovite stvari.
Blessed be Jehovah God, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things.
19 Blagoslovljeno bodi njegovo veličastno ime na veke in vsa zemlja naj bo napolnjena z njegovo slavo. Amen in Amen.
And blessed be his glorious name forever. And let the whole earth be filled with his glory. Truly, and Truly.
20 Molitve Davida, Jesejevega sina, so končane.
