Psalmi 70

1 Podvizaj se, oh Bog, da me osvobodiš; podvizaj se, da mi pomagaš, oh Gospod.

God, please save me! Yahweh, come quickly to help me!

2 Naj bodo osramočeni in zbegani [tisti], ki strežejo po moji duši. Naj bodo obrnjeni nazaj in postavljeni v zmedenost, ki želijo mojo bolečino.

Humble those who are happy about my troubles/difficulties, and cause them to be disgraced/ashamed. Chase away those who are trying to kill me.

3 Naj bodo za nagrado svojega sramotenja obrnjeni nazaj, ki pravijo: »Aha, aha.«

I hope/desire that you will cause them to become dismayed and ashamed [because you have defeated them].

4 Naj se vsi tisti, ki te iščejo, veselijo in bodo veseli v tebi. Naj tisti, ki ljubijo tvojo rešitev duše, nenehno govorijo: »Naj bo Bog poveličan.«

[But] I hope/desire that all those who go to [worship] you will be very joyful [DOU]. I want those who love you because you saved them to shout repeatedly [HYP], “God is great!”

5 Toda jaz sem ubog in pomoči potreben. Podvizaj se k meni, oh Bog. Ti si moja pomoč in moj osvoboditelj; oh Gospod, ne mudi se.

As for me, I am poor and needy [DOU]; [so] God, come quickly to help me! Yahweh, you are the one who saves and helps me, [so please] come quickly!
