Psalmi 55
1 Pazljivo prisluhni moji molitvi, oh Bog in ne skrij se pred mojo ponižno prošnjo.
For the leader. With stringed instruments. A maskil of David. Listen, God, to my prayer. Don’t hide yourself from my pleading.
2 Prisluhni mi in me usliši. V svoji pritožbi žalujem in zganjam hrup
Hear me, and answer; for bitter is my lament.
3 zaradi glasu sovražnika, zaradi zatiranja zlobnega, kajti name mečejo krivičnost in z besom me sovražijo.
I am wild with the noise of the foe, with the clamor of the ungodly; for they hurl disaster upon me, and attack me with fury.
4 Moje srce znotraj mene je boleče zaskrbljeno in strahote smrti so padle name.
My heart shudders within me, terrors of deaths press on me,
5 Strah in trepet sta prišla name in groza me je preplavila.
fear and trembling attack me, and horror wraps me round.
6 Rekel sem: »Oh da bi imel peruti kakor golobica! Kajti potem bi odletel proč in bi bil miren.
O for the wings of a dove: I would fly away and rest.
7 Glej, potem bi odtaval daleč proč in ostal v divjini. (Sela)
I would wander far away, find refuge in the wilderness. (Selah)
8 Pospešil bi svoj pobeg pred vetrovnim viharjem in neurjem.«
I would find myself a shelter from raging wind and tempest.
9 Uniči, oh Gospod in razdeli njihove jezike, kajti videl sem nasilje in prepir v mestu.
Confuse them, Lord, upset their plans; for I see violence and strife in the city.
10 Dan in noč hodijo okrog po njegovih zidovih. Tudi vragolija in bridkost sta v njegovi sredi.
By day and by night they make their rounds on the city walls, while within is crime and trouble,
11 Zlobnost je v njegovi sredi. Prevara in zvijača ne odideta iz njegovih ulic.
within is ruin. Her market-place is never free of deceit and tyranny.
12 Kajti ni bil sovražnik, ki me je grajal, potem bi to lahko prenesel. Niti ni bil, kdor me je sovražil, ki se je poveličal zoper mene, potem bi se skril pred njim.
The taunts were not those of a foe that I could have borne; the disdain was not that of an enemy I could have shunned them:
13 Toda bil si ti, človek, moj vrstnik, moj vodnik in moj znanec.
but it was you, my equal, my dear and familiar friend.
14 Skupaj sva imela prijetno namero in družno hodila v Božjo hišo.
We used to be so close, together we walked in God’s house with the crowd.
15 Naj se jih polasti smrt in naj hitro gredo dol v pekel, kajti zlobnost je v njihovih bivališčih in med njimi. (Sheol h7585)
May death suddenly take them, may they go down to Sheol alive, for evil lives in their homes and their hearts. (Sheol h7585)
16 Kar se mene tiče, bom klical k Bogu in Gospod me bo rešil.
But I will call on God, the Lord will save me.
17 Zvečer, zjutraj in opoldan bom molil in glasno vpil. Slišal bo moj glas.
Evening and morning and noon I lament and moan. He will hear my voice;
18 V miru je osvobodil mojo dušo pred bitko, ki je bila zoper mene, kajti mnogo jih je bilo z menoj.
though I am attacked by many he will rescue me, unharmed from the war.
19 Bog bo slišal in jih prizadel, celó on, ki ostaja od davnine. (Sela) Ker nimajo sprememb, zato se ne bojijo Boga.
God, who sits on his ancient throne will hear and will humble them, for they never change, they never fear God. (Selah)
20 Svoje roke je iztegnil zoper tiste, ki so v miru z njim; prelomil je svojo zavezo.
My friend turned against me, betrayed his word.
21 Besede iz njegovih ust so bile bolj gladke kakor maslo, toda v njegovem srcu je bila vojna. Njegove besede so bile mehkejše kakor olje, čeprav so bile izvlečeni meči.
His mouth was smoother than butter, but war filled his heart. His words were softer than oil, but sharper than swords.
22 Svoje breme vrzi na Gospoda in on te bo podpiral. Nikoli ne bo dopustil, da bi bil pravični omajan.
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never let the righteous be shaken.
23 Toda ti, oh Bog, jih boš zrušil v jamo uničenja. Krvoločni in varljivi ljudje ne bodo preživeli polovice svojih dni, jaz pa bom zaupal vate.
But you, God, will hurl them down to the deepest pit. Bloody and treacherous people will not live out half their days; but I will trust you.
