Psalmi 41

1 Blagoslovljen je, kdor misli na ubogega. Gospod ga bo osvobodil v času stiske.

To the Overseer. — A Psalm of David. O the happiness of him Who is acting wisely unto the poor, In a day of evil doth Jehovah deliver him.

2 Gospod ga bo varoval in ga ohranil živega in blagoslovljen bo na zemlji in ti ga nočeš izročiti volji njegovih sovražnikov.

Jehovah doth preserve him and revive him, He is happy in the land, And Thou givest him not into the will of his enemies.

3 Gospod ga bo okrepil na postelji slabljenja. Zamenjal boš vso njegovo posteljo v njegovi bolezni.

Jehovah supporteth on a couch of sickness, All his bed Thou hast turned in his weakness.

4 Rekel sem: » Gospod, bodi mi usmiljen. Ozdravi mojo dušo, kajti grešil sem zoper tebe.«

I — I said, 'O Jehovah, favour me, Heal my soul, for I did sin against Thee,'

5 Moji sovražniki zlobno govorijo o meni: »Kdaj bo umrl in njegovo ime izgine?«

Mine enemies say evil of me: When he dieth — his name hath perished!

6 Če pride, da me vidi, govori prazne reči. Njegovo srce k sebi zbira krivičnost; ko hodi proč od bivališča, to pripoveduje.

And if he came to see — vanity he speaketh, His heart gathereth iniquity to itself, He goeth out — at the street he speaketh.

7 Vsi, ki me sovražijo, skupaj šepetajo zoper mene, zoper mene snujejo mojo bolečino.

All hating me whisper together against me, Against me they devise evil to me:

8 Zla bolezen, pravijo, se ga trdno drži, in sedaj, ko leži, ne bo več vstal.

A thing of Belial is poured out on him, And because he lay down he riseth not again.

9 Da, moj lastni zaupni prijatelj, v katerega sem zaupal, ki je jedel od mojega kruha, je dvignil svojo peto zoper mene.

Even mine ally, in whom I trusted, One eating my bread, made great the heel against me,

10 Toda ti, oh Gospod, mi bodi usmiljen in me dvigni, da jim lahko poplačam.

And Thou, Jehovah, favour me, And cause me to rise, And I give recompence to them.

11 Po tem spoznam, da me ti podpiraš, ker moj sovražnik ne slavi zmage nad menoj.

By this I have known, That Thou hast delighted in me, Because my enemy shouteth not over me.

12 Kar se mene tiče, me podpiraš v moji neokrnjenosti in me postavljaš pred svoje obličje na veke.

As to me, in mine integrity, Thou hast taken hold upon me, And causest me to stand before Thee to the age.

13 Blagoslovljen bodi Gospod, Izraelov Bog, od večnosti in do večnosti. Amen in Amen.

Blessed [is] Jehovah, God of Israel, From the age — and unto the age. Amen and Amen.
