Psalmi 33
1 Veselite se v Gospodu, oh vi pravični, kajti hvala je ljubka iskrenim.
Shout for joy, ye righteous, in Yahweh, To the upright, seemly is praise.
2 Hvalite Gospoda s harfo, prepevajte mu s plunko in glasbilom desetih strun.
Give ye thanks unto Yahweh with the lyre, With a harp of ten strings, make ye music unto him.
3 Prepevajte mu novo pesem, igrajte vešče z glasnim zvokom.
Sing unto him, a song that is new, With skill, sweep the strings, with loud noise.
4 Kajti Gospodova beseda je pravilna in vsa njegova dela so narejena v resnici.
For right is the word of Yahweh, and, all his work, is in faithfulness:
5 On ljubi pravičnost in sodbo. Zemlja je polna Gospodove dobrote.
Who loveth righteousness and justice, With the lovingkindness of Yahweh, the earth is full.
6 Nebo je bilo narejeno z Gospodovo besedo in vsa njegova vojska z dihom njegovih ust.
By the word of Yahweh, the heavens were made, and, by the spirit of his mouth, all their host:
7 Morske vode zbira skupaj kakor kup, globine shranjuje v skladiščih.
Who gathered as into a skin-bottle the waters of the sea, Delivering, into treasuries, the roaring deeps.
8 Naj se vsa zemlja boji Gospoda. Naj vsi prebivalci zemeljskega [kroga] stojijo v strahospoštovanju pred njim.
Let all the earth, stand in awe of Yahweh, Of him, be in dread, all ye inhabitants of the world;
9 Kajti spregovoril je in bilo je narejeno, zapovedal je in je trdno stalo.
For, he, spake, and it was, He, commanded, and it stood forth.
10 Gospod uničuje namere poganov. Načrte ljudstva dela brez učinka.
Yahweh, hath frustrated the counsel of nations, hath brought to nothing the devices of peoples.
11 Gospodove namere ostanejo večno, misli njegovega srca vsem rodovom.
The counsel of Yahweh, to times age-abiding, shall stand, The devices of his heart, from generation to generation.
12 Blagoslovljen je narod, čigar Bog je Gospod in ljudstvo, ki ga je izbral za svojo lastno dediščino.
How happy the nation whose God is, Yahweh, The people he hath chosen as his own inheritance!
13 Gospod gleda z neba, ogleduje vse človeške sinove.
Out of the heavens, hath Yahweh looked, He hath seen all the sons of men:
14 Iz kraja svojega prebivališča gleda na vse prebivalce zemlje.
Out of his settled place of abode, hath he fixed his gaze on all the inhabitants of the earth:
15 Prav tako oblikuje njihova srca, preudarja vsa njihova dela.
Who fashioneth their heart all together, Who understandeth all their doings.
16 Noben kralj ni rešen z množičnostjo vojske, mogočen človek ni osvobojen z veliko močjo.
Not a king, can be saved by greatness of force, nor, hero, deliver himself by greatness of strength:
17 Konj je jalova stvar za varnost niti s svojo veliko močjo ne bo nikogar osvobodil.
A deception, is the horse, for victory, and, by his great strength, shall he not deliver.
18 Glej, Gospodovo oko je nad temi, ki se ga bojijo, nad temi, ki upajo v njegovo usmiljenje,
Lo! the eye of Yahweh, is toward them who revere him, unto such as are waiting for his lovingkindness:
19 da njihovo dušo osvobodi pred smrtjo in da jih v lakoti ohrani žive.
To rescue, from death, their soul, and to keep them alive in famine.
20 Naša duša čaka na Gospoda, on je naša pomoč in naš ščit.
Our own soul, hath waited for Yahweh, Our help and our shield, is he!
21 Kajti naše srce se bo veselilo v njem, ker smo zaupali v njegovo sveto ime.
For, in him, shall our heart rejoice, For, in his holy Name, have we trusted.
22 Naj bo tvoje usmiljenje na nas, oh Gospod, prav tako kakor mi zaupamo vate.
Be thy lovingkindness, O Yahweh, upon us, According as we have waited for thee.
