Psalmi 2
1 Zakaj besnijo pogani in ljudstvo domišlja prazno stvar?
Why are the nations in turmoil, and why do the peoples make plots that will fail?
2 Kralji zemlje so se usmerili in vladarji se skupaj posvetujejo zoper Gospoda in zoper njegovega maziljenca, rekoč:
The kings of the earth take their stand together and the rulers conspire together against Yahweh and against his Messiah, saying,
3 »Pretrgajmo njihove vezi in odvrzimo njihove vrvi od sebe.«
“Let us tear off the shackles they put on us and throw off their chains.”
4 Tisti, ki sedi v nebesih, se bo smejal. Gospod jih bo imel v posmeh.
He who sits in the heavens will sneer at them; the Lord mocks them.
5 Potem jim bo govoril v svojem besu in jih nadlegoval v svojem bridkem nezadovoljstvu.
Then he will speak to them in his anger and terrify them in his rage, saying,
6 »Vendarle sem jaz postavil svojega kralja na svoji sveti gori Sion.«
“I myself have anointed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”
7 Oznanil bom odlok. Gospod mi je rekel: »Ti si moj Sin. Ta dan sem te rodil.
I will announce a decree of Yahweh. He said to me, “You are my son! This day I have become your father.
8 Zahtevaj od mene in dal ti bom pogane za tvojo dediščino in najbolj oddaljene kraje zemlje za tvojo posest.
Ask me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance and the farthermost regions of the earth for your possession.
9 Zdrobil jih boš z železno palico, raztreščil jih boš na koščke kakor lončarjevo posodo.«
You will break them with an iron rod; like a jar of a potter, you will smash them to pieces.”
10 Zatorej bodite sedaj modri, oh vi kralji. Dajte se poučiti, vi sodniki zemlje.
So now, you kings, be warned; be corrected, you rulers of the earth.
11 Gospodu služite s strahom in veselite se s trepetanjem.
Worship Yahweh in fear and rejoice with trembling.
12 Poljubite Sina, da ne bi bil jezen in ne izginete iz poti, ko je njegov bes le malo razvnet. Blagoslovljeni so vsi, ki svoje upanje položijo vanj.
Kiss the son or he will be angry with you, and you will die in the way when his anger burns for just a moment. How blessed are all those who seek refuge in him.
