Psalmi 148

1 Hvalite Gospoda. Hvalite Gospoda iz nebes, hvalite ga na višavah.

Alleluia, [a Psalm] of Aggaeus and Zacharias. Praise you the Lord from the heavens: praise him in the highest.

2 Hvalite ga, vsi njegovi angeli, hvalite ga, vse njegove vojske.

Praise you him, all his angels: praise you him, all his hosts.

3 Hvalita ga, sonce in luna, hvalite ga vse ve zvezdne luči.

Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you stars and light.

4 Hvalite ga, ve nebes nebesa in ve vode, ki ste nad nebom.

Praise him, you heavens of heavens, and the water that is above the heavens.

5 Naj hvalijo Gospodovo ime, kajti ukazal je in bili so ustvarjeni.

Let them praise the name of the Lord: for he spoke, and they were made; he commanded, and they were created.

6 Tudi njih je utrdil na veke vekov; naredil je odlok, ki ne bo minil.

He has established them for ever, even for ever and ever: he has made an ordinance, and it shall not pass away.

7 Hvalite Gospoda z zemlje, vi zmaji in vse globine,

Praise the Lord from the earth, you serpents, and all deeps.

8 ogenj in toča, sneg in meglica, viharni veter, izpolnjujoč njegovo besedo,

Fire, hail, snow, ice, stormy wind; the things that perform his word.

9 gore in vsi hribi, rodovitna drevesa in vse cedre,

Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars:

10 živali in vsa živina, plazeče stvari in leteča perjad,

wild beasts, and all cattle; reptiles, and winged birds:

11 kralji zemlje in vsi ljudje, princi in vsi zemeljski sodniki,

kings of the earth, and all peoples; princes, and all judges of the earth:

12 tako mladeniči kakor mladenke, starci in otroci;

young men and virgins, old men with youths:

13 naj hvalijo Gospodovo ime, kajti njegovo ime samó je odlično; njegova slava je nad zemljo in nebom.

let them praise the name of the Lord: for his name only is exalted; his praise is above the earth and heaven,

14 Povišuje tudi rog svojega ljudstva, hvalo vseh njegovih svetih, celó Izraelovih otrok, ljudstva blizu njemu. Hvalite Gospoda.

and he shall exalt the horn of his people, [there is] a hymn for all his saints, [even] of the children of Israel, a people who draw near to him.
