Psalmi 139
1 Oh Gospod, preiskal si me in me spoznal.
To the Overseer. — A Psalm by David. Jehovah, Thou hast searched me, and knowest.
2 Poznaš moje sedanje in moje vstajanje, moje misli razumeš daleč stran.
Thou — Thou hast known my sitting down, And my rising up, Thou hast attended to my thoughts from afar.
3 Obdajaš mojo pot in moje leganje in seznanjen si z vsemi mojimi potmi.
My path and my couch Thou hast fanned, And [with] all my ways hast been acquainted.
4 Kajti besede ni na mojem jeziku, toda, glej, oh Gospod, ti jo popolnoma poznaš.
For there is not a word in my tongue, Lo, O Jehovah, Thou hast known it all!
5 Obdajaš me zadaj in spredaj in name polagaš svojo roko.
Behind and before Thou hast besieged me, And Thou dost place on me Thy hand.
6 Takšno spoznanje je prečudovito zame, visoko je, ne morem ga doseči.
Knowledge too wonderful for me, It hath been set on high, I am not able for it.
7 Kam naj grem pred tvojim duhom? Ali kam naj pobegnem pred tvojo prisotnostjo?
Whither do I go from Thy Spirit? And whither from Thy face do I flee?
8 Če se povzpnem v nebesa, si tam; če si svojo posteljo pripravim v peklu, glej, si tam. (Sheol h7585)
If I ascend the heavens — there Thou [art], And spread out a couch in Sheol, lo, Thee! (Sheol h7585)
9 Če vzamem peruti jutra in prebivam v najbolj oddaljenih krajih morja,
I take the wings of morning, I dwell in the uttermost part of the sea,
10 celo tam me bo tvoja roka vodila in tvoja desnica me bo držala.
Also there Thy hand doth lead me, And Thy right hand doth hold me.
11 Če rečem: »Zagotovo me bo pokrila tema, celo noč bo svetloba okoli mene.«
And I say, 'Surely darkness bruiseth me, Then night [is] light to me.
12 Da, tema se ne skriva pred teboj, toda noč sije kakor dan; tema in svetloba, obe sta ti podobni.
Also darkness hideth not from Thee, And night as day shineth, as [is] darkness so [is] light.
13 Kajti v last si si vzel mojo notranjost, pokril si me v maternici moje matere.
For Thou — Thou hast possessed my reins, Thou dost cover me in my mother's belly.
14 Hvalil te bom, kajti jaz sem strašljivo in izvrstno narejen. Čudovita so tvoja dela in to moja duša resnično dobro ve.
I confess Thee, because that [with] wonders I have been distinguished. Wonderful [are] Thy works, And my soul is knowing [it] well.
15 Moja snov ni bila skrita pred teboj, ko sem bil narejen na skrivnem in nenavadno izdelan v najnižjih delih zemlje.
My substance was not hid from Thee, When I was made in secret, Curiously wrought in the lower part of earth.
16 Tvoje oči so videle mojo snov, čeprav je bila nepopolna in v tvoji knjigi so bili zapisani vsi moji udje, ki so bili oblikovani v vztrajanju, medtem ko ni bilo še nobenega izmed njih.
Mine unformed substance Thine eyes saw, And on Thy book all of them are written, The days they were formed — And not one among them.
17 Kako dragocene so mi tudi tvoje misli, oh Bog! Kako velik je njihov seštevek!
And to me how precious have been Thy thoughts, O God, how great hath been their sum!
18 Če bi jih preštel, jih je po številu več kakor peska. Ko se zbudim, sem še vedno s teboj.
I recount them! than the sand they are more, I have waked, and I am still with Thee.
19 Zagotovo boš ubil zlobnega, oh Bog, zato odidite od mene, vi krvoločni ljudje.
Dost Thou slay, O God, the wicked? Then, men of blood, turn aside from me!
20 Kajti zlobno govorijo zoper tebe in tvoji sovražniki zaman jemljejo tvoje ime.
Who exchange Thee for wickedness, Lifted up to vanity [are] Thine enemies.
21 Ali ne sovražim tistih, oh Gospod, ki sovražijo tebe? Mar nisem užaloščen s tistimi, ki se dvigujejo zoper tebe?
Do not I hate, Jehovah, those hating Thee? And with Thy withstanders grieve myself?
22 Sovražim jih s popolnim sovraštvom, štejem jih [za] svoje sovražnike.
[With] perfect hatred I have hated them, Enemies they have become to me.
23 Preišči me, oh Bog in spoznaj moje srce; preizkusi me in spoznaj moje misli.
Search me, O God, and know my heart, Try me, and know my thoughts,
24 Poglej ali je v meni kakršnakoli zlobna pot in vodi me po večni poti.
And see if a grievous way be in me, And lead me in a way age-during!
