1 Ko je Gospod ponovno obrnil ujetništvo Siona, smo bili podobni tem, ki sanjajo.

A song for pilgrims going up to Jerusalem. When the Lord brought his people back from captivity to Zion, it was as if we were dreaming!

2 Tedaj so bila naša usta napolnjena s smehom in naš jezik s petjem. Tedaj so med pogani govorili: » Gospod je zanje storil velike stvari.«

We laughed so much, we sang for joy. The other nations said, “The Lord has done wonderful things for these people.”

3 Gospod je za nas storil velike stvari, česar smo veseli.

The Lord certainly has done wonderful things for us. How happy we were!

4 Ponovno obrni naše ujetništvo, oh Gospod, kakor vodotoke na jugu.

Please return and help us again, Lord. Renew us like streams of water that renew the Negev desert.

5 Tisti, ki sejejo s solzami, bodo želi z veseljem.

Those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy!

6 Kdor hodi naprej in joka in prinaša dragoceno seme, bo brez dvoma ponovno prišel z veseljem, nesoč svoje snope s seboj.

Those who weep as they go out to sow their seed will be singing in celebration when they carry the harvest home.
