Psalmi 123

1 K tebi povzdigujem svoje oči, oh ti, ki prebivaš v nebesih.

A song of ascents. I lift up my eyes to You, the One enthroned in heaven.

2 Glej, kakor oči služabnikov gledajo k roki svojih gospodarjev in kakor oči dekle k roki svoje gospodarice, tako naše oči čakajo na Gospoda, našega Boga, dokler se nas ne usmili.

As the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maidservant look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes are on the LORD our God until He shows us mercy.

3 Usmili se nas, oh Gospod, usmili se nas, kajti silno smo nasičeni z zaničevanjem.

Have mercy on us, O LORD, have mercy, for we have endured much contempt.

4 Naša duša je silno nasičena s preziranjem tistih, ki so ošabni in z zaničevanjem ponosnih.

We have endured much scorn from the arrogant, much contempt from the proud.
