Psalmi 118
1 Oh zahvaljujte se Gospodu, ker je dober, ker njegovo usmiljenje traja večno.
Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.
2 Naj sedaj reče Izrael, da njegovo usmiljenje traja večno.
Let Israel now say that his loving kindness endures forever.
3 Naj sedaj reče Aronova hiša, da njegovo usmiljenje traja večno.
Let the house of Aaron now say that his loving kindness endures forever.
4 Naj sedaj rečejo tisti, ki se bojijo Gospoda, da njegovo usmiljenje traja večno.
Now let those who fear Yahweh say that his loving kindness endures forever.
5 V tegobi sem klical h Gospodu; Gospod mi je odgovoril in me postavil na velik kraj.
Out of my distress, I called on Yah. Yah answered me with freedom.
6 Gospod je na moji strani; ne bom se bal, kaj mi more storiti človek?
Yahweh is on my side. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
7 Gospod jemlje moj delež s tistimi, ki mi pomagajo, zato bom videl svojo željo na tistih, ki me sovražijo.
Yahweh is on my side among those who help me. Therefore I will look in triumph at those who hate me.
8 Bolje je zaupati v Gospoda, kakor zaupanje polagati v človeka.
It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in man.
9 Bolje je zaupati v Gospoda, kakor zaupanje polagati v prince.
It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in princes.
10 Vsi narodi so me obkrožili, toda uničil jih bom v Gospodovem imenu.
All the nations surrounded me, but in Yahweh’s name I cut them off.
11 Obkrožili so me; da, obkrožili so me, toda uničil jih bom v Gospodovem imenu.
They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me. In Yahweh’s name I indeed cut them off.
12 Obkrožili so me kakor čebele; pogašeni so kakor ogenj iz trnja, kajti uničil jih bom v Gospodovem imenu.
They surrounded me like bees. They are quenched like the burning thorns. In Yahweh’s name I cut them off.
13 Kruto si me sunil, da bi lahko padel, toda Gospod mi je pomagal.
You pushed me back hard, to make me fall, but Yahweh helped me.
14 Gospod je moja moč in pesem in postal je rešitev moje duše.
Yah is my strength and song. He has become my salvation.
15 Glas veselja in rešitve duš je v šotorskih svetiščih pravičnih; Gospodova desnica dela hrabro.
The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous. “The right hand of Yahweh does valiantly.
16 Gospodova desnica je vzvišena, Gospodova desnica dela hrabro.
The right hand of Yahweh is exalted! The right hand of Yahweh does valiantly!”
17 Ne bom umrl, temveč živel in oznanjal Gospodova dela.
I will not die, but live, and declare Yah’s works.
18 Gospod me je boleče okaral, toda ni me izročil smrti.
Yah has punished me severely, but he has not given me over to death.
19 Odprite mi velika vrata pravičnosti; šel bom vanje in bom hvalil Gospoda,
Open to me the gates of righteousness. I will enter into them. I will give thanks to Yah.
20 ta Gospodova velika vrata, v katera bodo vstopali pravični.
This is the gate of Yahweh; the righteous will enter into it.
21 Hvalil te bom, kajti slišal si me in postal si rešitev moje duše.
I will give thanks to you, for you have answered me, and have become my salvation.
22 Kamen, ki so ga graditelji odklonili, je postal glava vogalnemu kamnu.
The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.
23 To je Gospodovo delo, to je čudovito v naših očeh.
This is Yahweh’s doing. It is marvelous in our eyes.
24 To je dan, ki ga je naredil Gospod; veselili se bomo in bili veseli v njem.
This is the day that Yahweh has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!
25 Reši sedaj, rotim te, oh Gospod. Oh Gospod, rotim te, pošlji uspevanje sedaj.
Save us now, we beg you, Yahweh! Yahweh, we beg you, send prosperity now.
26 Blagoslovljen bodi, kdor prihaja v Gospodovem imenu. Blagoslavljamo vas iz Gospodove hiše.
Blessed is he who comes in Yahweh’s name! We have blessed you out of Yahweh’s house.
27 Bog je Gospod, ki nam je pokazal svetlobo. Žrtev povežite z vrvmi, celó k oltarnim rogovom.
Yahweh is God, and he has given us light. Bind the sacrifice with cords, even to the horns of the altar.
28 Ti si moj Bog in tebe bom hvalil; ti si moj Bog, poviševal te bom.
You are my God, and I will give thanks to you. You are my God, I will exalt you.
29 Oh zahvaljujte se Gospodu, ker je dober, kajti njegovo usmiljenje traja večno.
Oh give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.
