Psalmi 116

1 Ljubim Gospoda, ker je slišal moj glas in moje ponižne prošnje.

I love Yhwh, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.

2 Ker je k meni nagnil svoje uho, zato bom klical k njemu, dokler živim.

Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

3 Obdale so me bridkosti smrti in bolečine pekla so me prijele; spoznal sem stisko in bridkost. (Sheol h7585)

The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. (Sheol h7585)

4 Potem sem klical h Gospodovemu imenu: »Oh Gospod, rotim te, osvobodi mojo dušo.«

Then called I upon the name of Yhwh; O Yhwh, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

5 Milostljiv je Gospod in pravičen; da, naš Bog je usmiljen.

Gracious is Yhwh, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

6 Gospod varuje preprostega; ponižan sem bil in pomagal mi je.

Yhwh preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.

7 Vrni se k svojemu počitku, oh moja duša, kajti Gospod radodarno postopa s teboj.

Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for Yhwh hath dealt bountifully with thee.

8 Kajti mojo dušo si osvobodil pred smrtjo, moje oči pred solzami in moja stopala pred padcem.

For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

9 Hodil bom pred Gospodom v deželi živih.

I will walk before Yhwh in the land of the living.

10 Verujem, zato sem rekel: »Bil sem silno prizadet.«

I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:

11 V svoji naglici sem rekel: »Vsi ljudje so lažnivci.«

I said in my haste, All men are liars.

12 Kaj naj bi vrnil Gospodu za vse njegove koristi do mene?

What shall I render unto Yhwh for all his benefits toward me?

13 Vzel bom čašo rešitve duše in klical h Gospodovemu imenu.

I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of Yhwh.

14 Svoje zaobljube bom izpolnil Gospodu sedaj, v prisotnosti vsega njegovega ljudstva.

I will pay my vows unto Yhwh now in the presence of all his people.

15 Dragocena je v Gospodovih očeh smrt njegovih svetih.

Precious in the sight of Yhwh is the death of his saints.

16 Oh Gospod, zares sem tvoj služabnik; tvoj služabnik sem in sin tvoje pomočnice; ti si odvezal moje vezi.

O Yhwh, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.

17 Daroval ti bom žrtev zahvaljevanja in klical bom h Gospodovemu imenu.

I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of Yhwh.

18 Svoje zaobljube bom izpolnil Gospodu sedaj, v prisotnosti vsega njegovega ljudstva,

I will pay my vows unto Yhwh now in the presence of all his people,

19 na dvorih Gospodove hiše, v tvoji sredi, oh Jeruzalem. Hvalite Gospoda.

In the courts of Yhwh's house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Hallelu jah.
