Psalmi 11

1 Svoje trdno upanje polagam v Gospoda. Kako pravite moji duši: »Béži kakor ptica k svoji gori?«

I trust that Yahweh will protect [MTY] me. So do not [RHQ] say to me, “You need to escape/flee to the mountains like birds do,

2 Kajti glej, zlobni upogibajo svoj lok, svojo puščico pripravljajo na tetivo, da bi lahko na skrivaj streljali na iskrenega v srcu.

because wicked people have hidden in the darkness, they have pulled back their bowstrings and aimed their arrows to shoot them at godly/righteous [IDM] people [like you].

3 Če so temelji razrušeni, kaj lahko stori pravični?

When people are not punished for disobeying the laws, (what can righteous people do?/there is not much that righteous people can do.)” [RHQ]

4 Gospod je v svojem svetem templju, Gospodov prestol je na nebu. Njegove oči gledajo, njegove veke preizkušajo človeške otroke.

But Yahweh is sitting on his throne in his sacred temple in heaven, and he [SYN] watches everything that people do.

5 Gospod preizkuša pravičnega. Toda zlobnega in tistega, ki ljubi nasilje, sovraži njegova duša.

Yahweh examines what righteous people do and what wicked people do, and he hates those who like to perform violent actions [to injure others].

6 Na zlobne bo deževal pasti, ogenj, žveplo in strašen vihar. To bo delež njihove skodelice.

He will send down [from the sky] flaming coals and burning sulfur, and send scorching hot winds to punish wicked people.

7 Kajti pravičen Gospod ljubi pravičnost, njegovo obličje gleda iskrenega.

Yahweh is righteous and he loves those who act righteously; righteous people are able to come into his presence.
