Filipljanom 1
1 Pavel in Timótej, služabnika Jezusa Kristusa, vsem svetim v Kristusu Jezusu, ki so v Filípih, z duhovnimi nadzorniki in pomočniki [Božjih] služabnikov:
Paul and Timothy, servants of Jesus Christ, —unto all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with overseers and ministers: —
2 ›Milost bodi vam in mir od Boga, našega Očeta in od Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa.‹
Favour unto you, and peace, from God our Father and Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Svojemu Bogu se zahvaljujem vsakič, ko se vas spominjam,
I am giving thanks unto my God, on occasion of all my remembrance of you,
4 vedno v vsaki svoji molitvi z radostjo prosim za vas vse,
At all times, in every supplication of mine, in behalf of you all, with joy, my supplication, making, —
5 zaradi vaše družbe v evangeliju, od prvega dne do sedaj;
On account of your contribution unto the glad-message, from the first day until the present:
6 ker sem prepričan o tej sami stvari, da on, ki je v vas začel dobro delo, ga bo opravil do dneva Jezusa Kristusa.
Being persuaded of this very thing—that, he who hath begun in you a good work, will perfect it, until the day of Jesus Christ;
7 Prav tako je zame primerno, da tako mislim o vas vseh, ker vas imam v svojem srcu; glede na to, da ste vi vsi udeleženci moje milosti, tako v mojih verigah kakor v obrambi in potrjevanju evangelija.
According as it is right in me to have this regard in behalf of you all, —because ye have had me in your hearts, both in my bonds and in the defence and confirmation of the glad-message, all of you being, joint partakers of my favour.
8 Kajti Bog je moja priča, kako silno hrepenim po vas vseh v notranjostih Jezusa Kristusa.
For God is, my witness, how I long for you all in the tender affections of Christ Jesus.
9 In molim to, da bo vaša ljubezen lahko še bolj in bolj obilna v spoznanju in v vsaki razsodbi;
And, this, I pray—that, your love, may be, yet more and more, pre-eminent in personal knowledge and all perception,
10 da boste lahko presojali stvari, ki so odlične; da boste lahko iskreni in brez pohujšanja do Kristusovega dne;
To the end ye may be putting to the test the things that differ, in order that ye may be incorrupt and may give no occasion of stumbling, unto the day of Christ,
11 izpolnjeni s sadovi pravičnosti, ki so po Jezusu Kristusu, v slavo in hvalo Božjo.
Filled with that fruit of righteousness which is through Jesus Christ unto the glory and praise of God.
12 Toda, [da] bi razumeli, bratje, da so stvari, ki so se mi zgodile, toliko bolj izpadle v pospeševanje evangelija;
Howbeit, I am minded, brethren, that ye should be, getting to know, that, the things which relate unto myself, rather, unto an advancement of the glad-message, have fallen out,
13 tako da so moje vezi v Kristusu razpoznavne po vsej palači in po vseh drugih krajih;
So that, my bonds, have become manifest in Christ, in the whole palace, and unto all the rest, —
14 in mnogi izmed bratov v Gospodu so z mojimi vezmi povečali samozavest, da so mnogo pogumneje, brez strahu, govorili besedo.
And [so that], the most of the brethren in the Lord, assured by my bonds, are becoming more abundantly bold to be fearlessly speaking the word of God: —
15 Nekateri zares oznanjajo Kristusa celó iz zavisti in prepira, nekateri pa tudi iz dobre volje;
Some, indeed, by reason of envy and strife—some, however, by reason of good will—are proclaiming, the Christ:
16 nekdo oznanja Kristusa iz spora, ne iskreno, ker misli, da mojim vezem dodaja stisko,
These, indeed, out of love, knowing that, for the defence of the glad-message, I am set;
17 toda drug iz ljubezni, vedoč, da sem določen za obrambo evangelija.
But, those, out of faction, are declaring, the Christ, not purely—supposing to rouse up, tribulation, with my bonds.
18 Kaj torej? Vseeno, vsak način, bodisi s pretvezo ali z resnico, Kristus se oznanja; in v tem se veselim, da in veselil se bom.
What then? That, in any way, whether in pretext, or in truth, Christ, is declared, and, in this, I rejoice—yea, and will rejoice!
19 Kajti vem, da se bo to, po vaših molitvah in oskrbi Duha Jezusa Kristusa, obrnilo k rešitvi moje duše,
For I know that, this, shall turn unto me for salvation—through your supplication, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, —
20 glede na moje iskreno pričakovanje in moje upanje, da v ničemer ne bom osramočen, temveč, da bo z vso srčnostjo, kot vedno, tako tudi sedaj, Kristus poveličan v mojem telesu, bodisi bo to z življenjem ali s smrtjo.
According to my eager outlook and hope, that, in nothing, shall I be put to shame, but, with all freedom of speech, as always, now also, shall Christ be magnified in my body, whether through means of life, or of death.
21 Kajti zame je živeti Kristus in umreti je dobiček.
For, unto me—living, is Christ, and, dying, gain.
22 Toda če živim v mesu, je to sad mojega truda; vendar ne vem, kaj bi izbral.
But, if living in flesh, [is Christ], this, unto me, is a fruit of work, —and, what I shall choose, I make not known:
23 Kajti v škripcu sem med dvema, ker hrepenim oditi in biti s Kristusom; kar je veliko bolje,
I am held in constraint, however, by reason of the two, —having, the coveting, to be released, and to be with, Christ, for it were far better!
24 pa vendar je zaradi vas bolj potrebno ostati v mesu.
But, to abide still in the flesh, is more needful for your sake;
25 In ker imam to zaupanje, vem, da bom zaradi vašega napredovanja in veselja vere ostal in nadaljeval z vami vsemi;
And, of, this, being assured, know that I shall abide, —yea abide with you all, for your advancement, and the joy of your faith;
26 da bo vaše veselje v Jezusu Kristusu lahko bolj obilno zaradi mene, z mojim ponovnim prihodom k vam.
In order that, your matter of boasting, may be more abundant in Christ Jesus, regarding me, through my own presence again with you.
27 Samo vaše vedênje naj bo, kakor se to spodobi Kristusovemu evangeliju, da bom bodisi prišel in vas videl, bodisi [da] bom odsoten, lahko slišal o vaših zadevah, da trdno stojite v enem duhu, enega mišljenja in si skupaj prizadevate za vero evangelija;
Only, in a manner worthy of the glad-message of the Christ, be using your citizenship; in order that—whether coming and seeing you, or being absent, I may hear of the things which concern you—that ye are standing fast in one spirit, with one soul, joining for the combat along with the faith of the glad-message;
28 in v ničemer prestrašeni od svojih nasprotnikov, kar je njim očiten simbol pogube, toda vam rešitev duš in to od Boga.
And not being affrighted in anything by the opposers, —the which, is, unto them, a token of destruction, although of your salvation, and this from God;
29 Kajti zaradi Kristusa vam je dano, da ne samo verujete vanj, ampak da zaradi njega tudi trpite;
Because, unto you, hath it been given as a favour, in behalf of Christ, not only, on him, to believe, but also, in his behalf, to suffer: —
30 in imate isti boj, ki ste ga videli v meni in sedaj slišite, da je v meni.
Having, the same contest, which ye have seen in me, and now hear to be in me.
