1 Pavel, jetnik Jezusa Kristusa in naš brat Timótej, našemu srčno ljubljenemu Filémonu in sodelavcu
Paul a prisoner of Christ Jesus and Timothy [our] brother To Philemon the beloved and fellow worker of us
2 in naši dragi Apíji in Arhipu, našemu sobojevniku ter cerkvi v tvoji hiši:
and to Apphia (our sister *N(K)O*) and to Archippus the fellow soldier of us and to the at [the] house of you church:
3 ›Milost vam in mir od Boga, našega Očeta in Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa.‹
Grace to you and peace from God Father of us and [the] Lord Jesus Christ.
4 Vedno, kadar te omenjam v svojih molitvah, se zahvaljujem svojemu Bogu,
I thank the God of mine always mention of you making upon the prayers of mine,
5 ker slišim o tvoji ljubezni in o tvoji veri, ki jo imaš do Gospoda Jezusa in do vseh svetih;
hearing of your love and the faith that you have (toward *NK(o)*) the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints,
6 da bi prenos tvoje vere lahko postal učinkovit s priznavanjem vsake dobre stvari, ki je v tebi v Kristusu Jezusu.
so that the fellowship of the faith of you effective may become in [the] acknowledgment of every good [thing] that [is] in (us *N(K)O*) in Christ (Jesus. *K*)
7 Kajti v tvoji ljubezni imamo veliko veselje in tolažbo, ker so po tebi, brat, osvežene notranjosti svetih.
(Joy *NK(O)*) for great (I have *N(K)O*) and encouragement by occasion of the love of you, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother.
8 Zatorej čeprav bi bil v Kristusu lahko zelo drzen, da ti zapovem to, kar je primerno,
Therefore much in Christ boldness having to order you what [is] befitting
9 te vendar zaradi ljubezni raje rotim, tak, kakršen sem, Pavel, starec in sedaj tudi jetnik Jezusa Kristusa.
for the sake of love rather I exhort [you], such a one being as Paul aged now then also a prisoner of Christ Jesus;
10 Rotim te za svojega sina Onézima, ki sem ga rodil v svojih vezeh,
I exhort you for my child whom I have begotten in the chains (of mine *K*) Onesimus,
11 ki ti je bil v preteklem času nekoristen, toda sedaj koristi tebi in meni.
once to you useless now however (both *n*) to you and to me myself useful,
12 Njega sem ponovno poslal. Ti ga torej sprejmi, to je, mojo lastno notranjost;
whom I have sent back (to you *N(K)O*) (now *k*) in person — who is my very heart — (do yourself receive. *K*)
13 katerega sem želel obdržati pri sebi, da bi mi namesto tebe lahko služil v vezeh evangelija.
whom I myself was wishing with myself to keep, so that on behalf of you me he may serve in the chains of the gospel;
14 Toda brez tvojega mišljenja ne želim storiti ničesar; da tvoja korist ne bi bila, kakor bi bila iz nuje, temveč prostovoljna.
Apart from however your consent no [thing] I wished to do, so that not as according to necessity the good of you may be but according to willingness.
Perhaps for because of this he was separated [from you] for a time, so that eternally him you may possess; (aiōnios g166)
16 sedaj ne kot služabnika, temveč več kot služabnika, ljubljenega brata, predvsem meni, toda koliko bolj tebi, tako v mesu kakor v Gospodu?
no longer no longer as a slave but above a slave, a brother beloved, especially to me myself, how much however more to you both in [the] flesh and in [the] Lord?
17 Če me imaš torej za družabnika, ga sprejmi kakor mene.
If therefore me you consider a partner, do yourself receive him as me myself.
18 Če ti je prizadel krivico ali ti karkoli dolguje, pripiši to na moj račun;
If however in any way he has wronged you or he owes [you], this to me myself do charge.
19 jaz, Pavel, sem to napisal s svojo lastno roko, sam ti bom to povrnil; čeprav ti ne rečem, kako mi poleg tega dolguješ celó samega sebe.
I myself Paul did write with my own hand, I myself will repay [it]; that not I may say to you that even yourself to me you owe also.
20 Da, brat, naj imam veselje s teboj v Gospodu. Osveži mojo notranjost v Gospodu.
Yes, brother, I myself from you I would have profit in [the] Lord; do refresh my heart in (Christ. *N(K)O*)
21 Ker imam zaupanje v tvojo poslušnost, sem ti pisal, vedoč, da boš storil tudi več, kakor pravim.
Having been persuaded of the obedience of you I write to you knowing that even above (what [things] *N(k)O*) I say you will do.
22 Toda poleg tega mi pripravi tudi stanovanje, kajti zaupam, da vam bom podarjen zaradi vaših molitev.
At the same time now also do prepare for me a lodging; I hope for that through the prayers of you I will be granted to you.
23 Pozdravljajo te Epafrá, moj sojetnik v Kristusu Jezusu,
(He greets *N(K)O*) you Epaphras fellow prisoner of mine in Christ Jesus,
24 Marko, Aristarh, Demá, Luka, moji sodelavci.
[as do] Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, [and] Luke, the fellow workers of mine.
25 Milost našega Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa bodi z vašim duhom. Amen. [Napisano iz Rima Filemonu, po služabniku Onézimu.]
