1 Pripetilo se je po kugi, da je Gospod spregovoril Mojzesu in Eleazarju, sinu duhovnika Arona, rekoč:
After the plague had ended, the LORD said to Moses and Eleazar son of Aaron the priest,
2 »Popišite glave vse skupnosti Izraelovih otrok, od dvajsetih let starosti in naprej, po vseh njihovih očetnih hišah, vse, ki so v Izraelu zmožni, da gredo na vojno.«
“Take a census of the whole congregation of Israel by the houses of their fathers—all those twenty years of age or older who can serve in the army of Israel.”
3 Mojzes in duhovnik Eleazar sta z njimi spregovorila na moábskih ravninah, pri Jordanu, blizu Jerihe, rekoč:
So on the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho, Moses and Eleazar the priest issued the instruction,
4 » Popišite glave ljudstva, od dvajsetih let starosti in naprej, « kakor je Gospod zapovedal Mojzesu in Izraelovim otrokom, ki so odšli iz egiptovske dežele.
“Take a census of the men twenty years of age or older, as the LORD has commanded Moses.” And these were the Israelites who came out of the land of Egypt:
5 Ruben, najstarejši Izraelov sin. Rubenovi otroci: Hénoh, iz katerega prihaja družina Hénohovcev, iz Palúja družina Palújevcev.
Reuben was the firstborn of Israel. These were the descendants of Reuben: The Hanochite clan from Hanoch, the Palluite clan from Pallu,
6 Iz Hecróna družina Hecrónovcev, iz Karmíja družina Karmíjevcev.
the Hezronite clan from Hezron, and the Carmite clan from Carmi.
7 To so družine Rubenovcev in tistih, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, je bilo triinštirideset tisoč sedemsto trideset.
These were the clans of Reuben, and their registration numbered 43,730.
8 Palújevi sinovi: Eliáb.
Now the son of Pallu was Eliab,
9 Eliábovi sinovi: Nemuél, Datán in Abirám. To sta bila tista Datán in Abirám, ki sta bila slavna v skupnosti, ki sta se pričkala zoper Mojzesa in zoper Arona v Korahovi skupini, ko so se pričkali zoper Gospoda
and the sons of Eliab were Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram. It was Dathan and Abiram, chosen by the congregation, who fought against Moses and Aaron with the followers of Korah who rebelled against the LORD.
10 in zemlja je odprla svoja usta ter ju požrla skupaj s Korahom, ko je ta skupina umrla, ko je ogenj použil dvesto petdeset mož in postali so znamenje.
And the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them along with Korah, whose followers died when the fire consumed 250 men. They serve as a warning sign.

13 iz Zeraha družina Zerahovcev, iz Šaúla družina Šaúlovcev.
the Zerahite clan from Zerah, and the Shaulite clan from Shaul.
14 To so družine Simeoncev, dvaindvajset tisoč dvesto.
These were the clans of Simeon, and there were 22,200 men.
15 Gadovi otroci po njihovih družinah: od Cefóna družina Cefónovcev, od Hagíja družina Hagíjevcev, od Šuníja družina Šuníjevcev,
These were the descendants of Gad by their clans: The Zephonite clan from Zephon, the Haggite clan from Haggi, the Shunite clan from Shuni,
16 od Ozníja družina Ozníjevcev, od Eríja družina Eríjevcev,
the Oznite clan from Ozni, the Erite clan from Eri,
17 od Aróda družina Aródovcev, od Arelíja družina Arelíjcev.
the Arodite clan from Arod, and the Arelite clan from Areli.
18 To so družine Gadovih otrok glede na tiste, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, štirideset tisoč petsto.
These were the clans of Gad, and their registration numbered 40,500.
19 Judova sinova sta bila Er in Onán, in Er in Onán sta umrla v kánaanski deželi.
The sons of Judah were Er and Onan, but they died in the land of Canaan.
20 Judovi sinovi po njihovih družinah so bili: od Šelája družina Šelájevcev, od Pareca družina Parecovcev, od Zeraha družina Zerahovcev.
These were the descendants of Judah by their clans: The Shelanite clan from Shelah, the Perezite clan from Perez, and the Zerahite clan from Zerah.
21 Parecovi sinovi so bili: od Hecróna družina Hecrónovcev, od Hamúla družina Hamúlovcev.
And these were the descendants of Perez: the Hezronite clan from Hezron and the Hamulite clan from Hamul.
22 To so Judove družine, glede na tiste, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, šestinsedemdeset tisoč petsto.
These were the clans of Judah, and their registration numbered 76,500.
23 Od Isahárjevih sinov po njihovih družinah: od Tolá družina Tolájevcev, od Puvá družina Puvájevcev,
These were the descendants of Issachar by their clans: The Tolaite clan from Tola, the Punite clan from Puvah,
24 od Jašúba družina Jašúbovcev, od Šimróna družina Šimrónovcev.
the Jashubite clan from Jashub, and the Shimronite clan from Shimron.
25 To so družine Isahárja, glede na tiste, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, šestinsedemdeset tisoč tristo.
These were the clans of Issachar, and their registration numbered 64,300.
26 Od Zábulonovih sinov po njihovih družinah: od Sereda družina Seredovcev, od Elóna družina Elónovcev, od Jahleéla družina Jahleélovcev.
These were the descendants of Zebulun by their clans: The Seredite clan from Sered, the Elonite clan from Elon, and the Jahleelite clan from Jahleel.
27 To so družine Zábulonovcev, glede na tiste, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, šestdeset tisoč petsto.
These were the clans of Zebulun, and their registration numbered 60,500.
28 Jožefova sinova po svojih družinah sta bila Manáse in Efrájim.
The descendants of Joseph included the clans of Manasseh and Ephraim.
29 Od Manásejevih sinov: od Mahírja družina Mahírjevcev in Mahír je zaplodil Gileáda. Iz Gileáda je izšla družina Gileádcev.
These were the descendants of Manasseh: The Machirite clan from Machir, the father of Gilead, and the Gileadite clan from Gilead.
30 To so Gileádovi sinovi: od Iezerja družina Iezerjevcev, od Heleka družina Helekovcev
These were the descendants of Gilead: the Iezerite clan from Iezer, the Helekite clan from Helek,
31 in od Asriéla družina Asriélovcev in od Sihema družina Sihemcev
the Asrielite clan from Asriel, the Shechemite clan from Shechem,
32 in od Šemidája družina Šemidájevcev in od Heferja družina Heferjevcev.
the Shemidaite clan from Shemida, and the Hepherite clan from Hepher.
33 Celofhád, sin Heferja, pa ni imel sinov, temveč hčere in imena Celofhádovih hčera so bila Mahla, Noa, Hogla, Milka in Tirca.
Now Zelophehad son of Hepher had no sons but only daughters. The names of his daughters were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
34 To so Manásejeve družine in tistih, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, dvainpetdeset tisoč sedemsto.
These were the clans of Manasseh, and their registration numbered 52,700.
35 To so Efrájimovi sinovi po njihovih družinah: od Šutélaha družina Šutélahovcev, od Beherja družina Beherjevcev, od Tahana družina Táhanovcev.
These were the descendants of Ephraim by their clans: The Shuthelahite clan from Shuthelah, the Becherite clan from Becher, and the Tahanite clan from Tahan.
36 To so Šutélahovi sinovi: od Erána družina Eránovcev.
And the descendants of Shuthelah were the Eranite clan from Eran.
37 To so družine Efrájimovih sinov glede na tiste, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, dvaintrideset tisoč petsto. To so Jožefovi sinovi po njihovih družinah.
These were the clans of Ephraim, and their registration numbered 32,500. These clans were the descendants of Joseph.
38 Benjaminovi sinovi po njihovih družinah: od Bela družina Bélovcev, od Ašbéla družina Ašbélovcev, od Ahiráma družina Ahirámovcev,
These were the descendants of Benjamin by their clans: The Belaite clan from Bela, the Ashbelite clan from Ashbel, the Ahiramite clan from Ahiram,
39 od Šufáma družina Šufámovcev, od Hufáma družina Hufámovcev.
the Shuphamite clan from Shupham, and the Huphamite clan from Hupham.
40 Belova sinova sta bila Ard in Naamán: od Arda družina Ardovcev in od Naamána družina Naamánovcev.
And the descendants of Bela from Ard and Naaman were the Ardite clan from Ard and the Naamite clan from Naaman.
41 To so Benjaminovi sinovi po svojih družinah in tistih, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, je bilo petinštirideset tisoč šeststo.
These were the clans of Benjamin, and their registration numbered 45,600.
42 To so Danovi sinovi po svojih družinah: od Šuháma družina Šuhámovcev. To so Danove družine po svojih družinah.
These were the descendants of Dan by their clans: The Shuhamite clan from Shuham. These were the clans of Dan.
43 Vseh družin Šuhámovcev, glede na tiste, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, je bilo štiriinšestdeset tisoč štiristo.
All of them were Shuhamite clans, and their registration numbered 64,400.
44 Od Aserjevih otrok po svojih družinah: od Jimnája družina Jimnájevcev, od Jišvíja družina Jišvíjevcev, od Berijá družina Berijájevcev.
These were the descendants of Asher by their clans: The Imnite clan from Imnah, the Ishvite clan from Ishvi, and the Beriite clan from Beriah.
45 Berijájevi sinovi: od Heberja družina Heberjevcev, od Malkiéla družina Malkiélovcev.
And these were the descendants of Beriah: the Heberite clan from Heber and the Malchielite clan from Malchiel.
46 Ime Aserjeve hčere je bilo Sara.
And the name of Asher’s daughter was Serah.
47 To so družine Aserjevih sinov glede na tiste, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, katerih je bilo triinpetdeset tisoč štiristo.
These were the clans of Asher, and their registration numbered 53,400.
48 Od Neftálijevih sinov po svojih družinah: od Jahceéla družina Jahceélovcev, od Guníja družina Guníjevcev,
These were the descendants of Naphtali by their clans: The Jahzeelite clan from Jahzeel, the Gunite clan from Guni,
49 od Jecerja družina Jecerjevcev, od Šiléma družina Šilémovcev.
the Jezerite clan from Jezer, and the Shillemite clan from Shillem.
50 To so Neftálijeve družine glede na svoje družine. Tistih, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, je bilo petinštirideset tisoč štiristo.
These were the clans of Naphtali, and their registration numbered 45,400.
51 Ti so bili prešteti izmed Izraelovih otrok, šeststo en tisoč sedemsto trideset.
These men of Israel numbered 601,730 in all.
52 Gospod je spregovoril Mojzesu, rekoč:
Then the LORD said to Moses,
53 »Tem bo dežela razdeljena v dediščino, glede na število imen.
“The land is to be divided among the tribes as an inheritance, according to the number of names.
54 Mnogim boš dal več dediščine in maloštevilnim boš dal manj dediščine. Vsakomur bo njegova dediščina dana glede na tiste, ki jih je preštel.
Increase the inheritance for a large tribe and decrease it for a small one; each tribe is to receive its inheritance according to the number of those registered.
55 Vendar naj bo dežela razdeljena z žrebom. Dedujejo naj glede na imena rodov svojih očetov.
Indeed, the land must be divided by lot; they shall receive their inheritance according to the names of the tribes of their fathers.
56 Njihova posest bo glede na žreb razdeljena med številne in maloštevilne.«
Each inheritance is to be divided by lot among the larger and smaller tribes.”
57 To so tisti, ki so bili prešteti izmed Lévijevcev po njihovih družinah: iz Geršóna družina Geršónovcev, iz Keháta družina Kehátovcev, iz Meraríja družina Meraríjevcev.
Now these were the Levites numbered by their clans: The Gershonite clan from Gershon, the Kohathite clan from Kohath, and the Merarite clan from Merari.
58 To so družine Lévijevcev: družina Libníjevcev, družina Hebróncev, družina Mahlíjevcev, družina Mušíjevcev, družina Kórahovcev. In Kehát je zaplodil Amráma.
These were the families of the Levites: The Libnite clan, the Hebronite clan, the Mahlite clan, the Mushite clan, and the Korahite clan. Now Kohath was the father of Amram,
59 Ime Amrámove žene je bilo Johébeda, Lévijeva hči, ki jo je njena mati rodila Leviju v Egiptu, in Amrámu je rodila Arona, Mojzesa in njuno sestro Mirjam.
and Amram’s wife was named Jochebed. She was also a daughter of Levi, born to Levi in Egypt. To Amram she bore Aaron, Moses, and their sister Miriam.
60 Aronu so bili rojeni Nadáb, Abihú, Eleazar in Itamár.
Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar were born to Aaron,
61 Nadáb in Abihú sta umrla, ko sta pred Gospodom darovala tuj ogenj.
but Nadab and Abihu died when they offered unauthorized fire before the LORD.
62 Tistih, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, je bilo triindvajset tisoč, vseh moških starih en mesec in več, kajti niso bili prešteti izmed Izraelovih otrok, ker jim ni bila dana dediščina med Izraelovimi otroki.
The registration of the Levites totaled 23,000, every male a month old or more; they were not numbered among the other Israelites, because no inheritance was given to them among the Israelites.
63 To so tisti, ki sta jih preštela Mojzes in duhovnik Eleazar, ki sta Izraelove otroke preštela na moábskih ravninah pri Jordanu, blizu Jerihe.
These were the ones numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest when they counted the Israelites on the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho.
64 Toda med temi ni bilo moža izmed njih, ki ga Mojzes in duhovnik Aron ne bi preštela, ko so v Sinajski divjini šteli Izraelove otroke.
Among all these, however, there was not one who had been numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest when they counted the Israelites in the Wilderness of Sinai.
65 Kajti Gospod je o njih rekel: »Zagotovo bodo umrli v divjini.« In tam izmed njih ni ostalo nobenega moža razen Jefunéjevega sina Kaléba in Nunovega sina Józueta.
For the LORD had told them that they would surely die in the wilderness. Not one was left except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
