1 Gospod je spregovoril Mojzesu, rekoč:

And Yahweh spake unto Moses saying: —

2 »Govori Aronu, njegovim sinovom in vsem Izraelovim otrokom ter jim reci: ›To je stvar, ki jo je Gospod zapovedal, rekoč:

Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons and unto all the sons of Israel, and thou shalt say unto them, —This, is the thing which Yahweh hath commanded, saying:

3 ›Katerikoli človek bo tam iz Izraelove hiše, ki kolje vola ali jagnje ali kozo v taboru ali da to kolje izven tabora,

What man soever, there be of the house of Israel, who slayeth an ox or lamb or goat, in the camp, —or who slayeth it outside the camp;

4 pa tega ne prinaša k vratom šotorskega svetišča skupnosti, da daruje dar Gospodu pred Gospodovim šotorskim svetiščem, bo kri pripisana tistemu človeku. Prelil je kri, in ta mož bo iztrebljen izmed svojega ljudstva,

and, unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, bringeth it not in, to present it as an oblation unto Yahweh, before the habitation of Yahweh, blood, shall be imputed to that man—blood, hath he shed, therefore shall that man be cut off from the midst of his people:

5 z namenom, da Izraelovi otroci lahko prinesejo svoje klavne daritve, ki jih darujejo na odprtem polju, torej, da jih lahko privedejo h Gospodu, k vratom šotorskega svetišča skupnosti, k duhovniku in jih darujejo za mirovna žrtvovanja Gospodu.

to the end that the sons of Israel may bring in their sacrifices which they are offering upon the face of the field, that they may bring them in unto Yahweh—unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, unto the priest, —and that so as peace-offerings unto Yahweh, they may offer them.

6 Duhovnik bo kri poškropil na Gospodov oltar pri vratih šotorskega svetišča skupnosti in tolščo sežgal v prijeten vonj Gospodu.

Then shall the priest dash the blood against the altar of Yahweh, at the entrance of the tent of meeting, —and shall make a perfume of the fat, as a satisfying odour unto Yahweh;

7 Svojih klavnih daritev ne bodo več darovali hudičem, za katerimi so se odšli vlačugat. To jim bo zakon na veke skozi njihove rodove.‹

so shall they no more offer their sacrifices unto demons after whom they are unchastely going away, —a statute age-abiding, shall this be to them unto their generations.

8 Rekel jim boš: ›Katerikoli mož bo iz Izraelove hiše ali od tujcev, ki začasno prebivajo med vami, ki darujejo žgalno daritev ali žrtvovanje,

Wherefore, unto them, shalt thou say: What man soever, there may be of the house of Israel, or of the sojourners that sojourn in their midst, —who causeth to go up an ascending-offering, or a sacrifice;

9 pa tega ne prinašajo k vratom šotorskega svetišča skupnosti, da to darujejo Gospodu; torej ta mož bo iztrebljen izmed svojega ljudstva.

and unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, doth not bring it in, to offer it unto Yahweh, then shall that man be cut off from among his kinsfolk.

10 Katerikoli človek bo tam iz Izraelove hiše ali izmed tujcev, ki začasno prebivajo med vami, ki na kakršenkoli način jé kri, bom svoj obraz naravnal prav posebej proti tej duši, ki jé kri in ga iztrebil izmed njegovih ljudi.

And, what man soever, there may be of the house of Israel, or of the sojourners that sojourn in their midst, that partaketh of any manner of blood, then will I set my face against the person that partaketh of the blood, and will cut him off from the midst of his people.

11 Kajti življenje mesa je v krvi in dal sem vam jo na oltarju, da opravite spravo za svoje duše, kajti kri je ta, ki opravlja spravo za dušo.

For as for the life of the flesh, in the blood, it is, therefore have, I, given it unto you upon the altar, to put a propitiatory-covering over your lives, —for the blood, it is, which, by virtue of the life, maketh propitiation.

12 Zato sem Izraelovim otrokom rekel: ›Nobena duša izmed vas ne bo jedla krvi niti ne bo noben tujec, ki začasno biva med vami, jedel krvi.‹

For this cause, have I said unto the sons of Israel, Not a person from among you shall partake of blood, —Even the sojourner that sojourneth in your midst, shall not partake of blood.

13 Katerikoli mož bo izmed Izraelovih otrok ali od tujcev, ki začasno bivajo med vami, ki lovijo in ujamejo katerokoli žival ali perjad, ki se lahko jé, ta bo torej izlil njeno kri in jo pokril s prahom.

And, what man soever, there may be of the sons of Israel, or of the sojourners that sojourn in their midst, who taketh by hunting any wild-beast or bird that may be eaten, then shall he pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust;

14 Kajti to je življenje vsega mesa, kri od tega je za njegovo življenje. Zatorej sem Izraelovim otrokom rekel: ›Na noben način ne boste jedli krvi od mesa, kajti življenje vsega mesa je njegova kri. Kdorkoli to jé, bo iztrebljen.‹

for, as for the life of all flesh, the blood thereof, for the life thereof, standeth, therefore have I said unto the sons of Israel—Of the blood of no manner of flesh, shall ye partake, For, the life of all flesh is the blood thereof; whoso partaketh thereof, shall be cut off.

15 Vsaka duša, ki jé to, kar je poginilo samo od sebe, ali to, kar je bilo raztrgano z zvermi, bodisi je to nekdo iz vaše lastne dežele ali tujec, bo tako opral svoja oblačila kakor se okopal v vodi in bo nečist do večera. Potem bo čist.

And, in the case of any person who eateth that which died of itself or was torn in pieces, whether he be home-born, or a sojourner, then shall he wash his clothes, and bathe in water, and be unclean until the evening, and then be clean.

16 Toda če jih ne opere niti ne umije svojega mesa, potem bo nosil svojo krivičnost.‹«

But, if he wash them not, and his flesh, he do not bathe, then shall he bear his iniquity.
