Janez 17
1 Te besede je govoril Jezus in svoje oči povzdignil k nebu ter rekel: »Oče, prišla je ura; proslavi svojega Sina, da bo lahko tudi tvoj Sin proslavil tebe,
When Jesus had spoken these words, He lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, ---"Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify Thee:
2 kakor si mu izročil oblast nad vsem mesom, da bi on lahko dal večno življenje tolikim, kolikor si mu jih dal. (aiōnios g166)
as Thou hast given Him power over all flesh, that as to all which Thou hast given Him, He might give them eternal life; (aiōnios g166)
3 In to je večno življenje, da bi oni lahko spoznali tebe, edinega resničnega Boga in Jezusa Kristusa, ki si ga poslal. (aiōnios g166)
and this is life eternal, to know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. (aiōnios g166)
4 Jaz sem te proslavil na zemlji. Končal sem delo, ki si mi ga dal, da ga opravim.
I have glorified Thee on earth, I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do:
5 In sedaj, oh Oče, me proslavi pri samem sebi s slavo, ki sem jo imel s teboj, preden je bil svet.
and now, O Father, glorify Thou me with thine own self, with the glory which I had with Thee before the world was made.
6 Jasno sem pokazal tvoje ime ljudem, ki mi jih daješ ven iz sveta. Bili so tvoji in ti jih daješ meni in ohranili so tvojo besedo.
I have manifested thy name to the men, whom Thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and Thou gavest them to me, and they have kept thy word.
7 Sedaj so spoznali, da so vse stvari, katerekoli si mi dal, od tebe.
They now know that all things whatsoever Thou hast given me, are indeed from Thee;
8 Kajti dal sem jim besede, ki jih ti daješ meni in sprejeli so jih in zagotovo so spoznali, da sem prišel od tebe in verovali so, da si me ti poslal.
for the instructions, which Thou gavest me, I have given to them: and they have received them, and have known of a truth that I came from Thee, and have believed that thou hast sent me.
9 Jaz prosim zanje. Ne prosim za svet, temveč za tiste, ki si mi jih ti dal, kajti tvoji so.
I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for those whom Thou hast given me, for they are thine.
10 In vse moje je tvoje in tvoje je moje in proslavljen sem v njih.
And all my concerns are thine, and thine are mine: and I am therefore glorified in them.
11 In sedaj nisem več na svetu, toda ti so na svetu, jaz pa prihajam k tebi. Sveti Oče, po svojem lastnem imenu ohrani te, ki si mi jih dal, da bodo lahko eno, kakor sva midva.
And as I am to be no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I am coming to Thee, Holy Father, keep by thy name those whom Thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
12 Dokler sem bil z njimi na svetu, sem jih varoval v tvojem imenu. Te, ki mi jih daješ, sem obvaroval in nihče izmed njih ni izgubljen, razen sina pogube, da se lahko izpolni pismo.
While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name; I have preserved those whom Thou gavest me, and none of them is lost; except the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled.
13 In sedaj prihajam k tebi in te stvari govorim na svetu, da bodo mojo radost lahko imeli v sebi izpolnjeno.
But now I am coming to Thee, and I speak these things in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in them.
14 Dal sem jim tvojo besedo, svet pa jih je sovražil, ker niso od sveta, celó kakor jaz nisem od sveta.
I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15 Ne prosim, da bi jih vzel iz sveta, temveč, da bi jih varoval pred zlom.
I do not pray that Thou wouldest take them out of the world, but that thou wouldest keep them from the evil.
16 Niso od sveta, celó kakor jaz nisem od sveta.
They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17 Posvetí jih po svoji resnici. Tvoja beseda je resnica.
Sanctify them by thy truth: thy word is truth.
18 Kakor si me ti poslal v svet, točno tako sem jih tudi jaz poslal v svet.
As Thou hast sent me into the world, so have I also sent them into the world.
19 In zaradi njih se posvečujem, da bodo tudi oni lahko posvečeni preko resnice.
And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified through the truth.
20 Niti ne prosim samo za té, temveč tudi za tiste, ki bodo po njihovi besedi verovali vame,
Nor do I pray for these only, but for them also that shall believe on me through their word.
21 da bi bili lahko vsi eno, kakor si ti, Oče, v meni in jaz v tebi, da bi bili lahko tudi oni eno v nas [treh], da bi svet lahko veroval, da si me ti poslal.
That they all may be one, as Thou, O Father, art in me, and I in Thee; that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 In slavo, ki mi jo daješ, sem dal njim, da bodo lahko eno, tako kakor smo mi [trije] eno;
And the glory which thou gavest me, I have given them: that they may be one, even as we are one.
23 jaz v njih in ti v meni, da bodo lahko izpopolnjeni v enem in da bo svet lahko spoznal, da si me ti poslal in da si jih ljubil, kakor si ljubil mene.
I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that Thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved me.
24 Oče, hočem, da bodo tudi tisti, ki si mi jih dal, z menoj, kjer sem jaz, da bodo lahko gledali mojo slavo, ki si mi jo dal, kajti ljubil si me pred ustanovitvijo sveta.
Father, I desire that they also, whom thou hast given me, may be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for Thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
25 Oh pravični Oče, svet te ni spoznal, toda jaz sem te spoznal in ti so spoznali, da si me ti poslal.
O righteous Father, the world indeed hath not known Thee: but I have known Thee, and these have known that Thou hast sent me.
26 In razglasil sem jim tvoje ime in ga bom razglašal, da bo ljubezen, s katero si me ljubil, lahko v njih in jaz v njih.«
And I have made known to them thy name, and will farther make it known; that the love wherewith Thou hast loved me, may be in them, and I also in them.
