Job 40
1 Poleg tega je Gospod odgovoril Jobu in rekel:
Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,
2 »Mar ga bo tisti, ki se prička z Vsemogočnim, poučeval? Kdor graja Boga, naj mu to odgovori.«
Shall he that cavilleth contend with the Almighty? he that argueth with God, let him answer it.
3 Potem je Job odgovoril Gospodu in rekel:
Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
4 »Glej, nepomemben sem, kaj naj ti odgovorim? Svojo roko bom položil na svoja usta.
Behold, I am of small account; what shall I answer thee? I lay mine hand upon my mouth.
5 Enkrat sem govoril, toda ne bom odgovoril. Da, dvakrat, vendar ne bom nadaljeval.«
Once have I spoken, and I will not answer; yea twice, but I will proceed no further.
6 Potem je Gospod iz vrtinčastega vetra odgovoril Jobu in rekel:
Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
7 »Opaši sedaj svoja ledja kakor mož. Zahteval bom od tebe in ti mi razglasi.
Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
8 Hočeš tudi mojo sodbo razveljaviti? Me hočeš obsoditi, da bi bil ti lahko pravičen?
Wilt thou even disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be justified?
9 Ali imaš laket kakor Bog? Ali lahko zagrmiš z glasom kakor on?
Or hast thou an arm like God? and canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
10 Odeni se sedaj z veličanstvom in odličnostjo in odeni se s slavo in lepoto.
Deck thyself now with excellency and dignity; and array thyself with honour and majesty.
11 Izlij bes svoje jeze. Glej vsakogar, ki je ponosen in ga ponižaj.
Pour forth the overflowings of thine anger: and look upon every one that is proud, and abase him.
12 Poglej na vsakogar, ki je ponosen in ga ponižaj in zlobne pomendraj na njihovem kraju.
Look on every one that is proud, [and] bring him low; and tread down the wicked where they stand.
13 Skupaj jih skrij v prah in njihove obraze obveži na skrivnem.
Hide them in the dust together; bind their faces in the hidden [place].
14 Potem ti bom tudi jaz priznal, da te tvoja lastna desnica lahko reši.
Then wilt I also confess of thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
15 Glej torej behemota, ki sem ga naredil s teboj; muli travo kakor vol.
Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as all ox.
16 Glej torej, njegova moč je v njegovih ledjih in njegova sila je v kiti njegovega trebuha.
Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the muscles of his belly.
17 Svoj rep premika kakor cedra. Kite njegovih kamnov so ovite skupaj.
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his thighs are knit together.
18 Njegove kosti so kakor trdi koščki iz brona, njegove kosti so podobne železnim zapahom.
His bones are as tubes of brass; his limbs are like bars of iron.
19 Ta je vodja Božjih poti. Kdor ga je naredil lahko stori, da se mu približa njegov meč.
He is the chief of the ways of God: he [only] that made him can make his sword to approach [unto him].
20 Zagotovo mu gore prinašajo hrano, kjer se igrajo vse poljske živali.
Surely the mountains bring him forth food; where all the beasts of the field do play.
21 Leži pod senčnimi drevesi, v skrivališču trstja in močvirij.
He lieth under the lotus trees, in the covert of the reed, and the fen.
22 Senčna drevesa ga pokrivajo s svojo senco, naokoli ga obdajajo potočne vrbe.
The lotus trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
23 Glej, pije reko in ne hiti; zaupa, da lahko Jordan posrka v svoja usta.
Behold, if a river overflow, he trembleth not: he is confident, though Jordan swell even to his mouth.
24 Ujame ga s svojimi očmi. Njegov nos prebada skozi zanke.
Shall any take him when he is on the watch, or pierce through his nose with a snare?
