Job 36
1 Elihú je tudi nadaljeval in rekel:
And Elius further continued, and said,
2 »Dovoli mi malo in pokazal ti bom, da bom še govoril za Boga.
Wait for me yet a little while, that I may teach you: for there is yet speech in me.
3 Svoje spoznanje bom prinesel od daleč in pravičnost pripisal svojemu Stvarniku.
Having fetched my knowledge from afar, and according to my works,
4 Kajti zares moje besede ne bodo napačne. On, ki je popoln v spoznanju, je s teboj.
I will speak just things truly, and you shall not unjustly receive unjust words.
5 Glej, Bog je mogočen in ne prezira nikogar. Mogočen je v moči in modrosti.
But know that the Lord will not cast off an innocent man: being mighty in strength of wisdom,
6 Ne varuje življenja zlobnih, temveč daje pravico ubogim.
he will not by any means save alive the ungodly: and he will grant the judgement of the poor.
7 Svojih oči ne umakne od pravičnih, temveč so oni s kralji na prestolu. Da, utrjuje jih na veke in so povišani.
He will not turn away his eyes from the righteous, but [they shall be] with kings on the throne: and he will establish them in triumph, and they shall be exalted.
8 In če bodo zvezani v okove in držani v vrveh stiske,
But they that are bound in fetters shall be holden in cords of poverty.
9 tedaj jim kaže njihovo delo in njihove prestopke, ki so jih presegli.
And he shall recount to them their works, and their transgressions, for such will act with violence.
10 Tudi njihovo uho odpira k disciplini in zapoveduje, da se vrnejo od krivičnosti.
But he will listen to the righteous: and he has said that they shall turn from unrighteousness.
11 Če ga ubogajo in mu služijo, bodo svoje dni preživeli v uspevanju in svoja leta v užitkih.
If they should hear and serve [him], they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in honour.
12 Toda če ne ubogajo, se bodo pogubili pod mečem in umrli bodo brez spoznanja.
But he preserves not the ungodly; because they are not willing to know the Lord, and because when reproved they were disobedient.
13 Toda hinavci v srcu kopičijo bes. Ne vpijejo, ko jih zvezuje.
And the hypocrites in heart will array wrath [against themselves]; they will not cry, because he has bound them.
14 Umrejo v mladosti in njihovo življenje je med nečistimi.
Therefore let their soul die in youth, and their life be wounded by messengers [of death].
15 Revnega osvobaja v njegovi stiski in njihova ušesa odpira v zatiranju.
Because they afflicted the weak and helpless: and he will vindicate the judgement of the meek.
16 Celo tako bi te odstranil iz tesnega na prostran kraj, kjer ni omejenosti in to, kar naj bi bilo postavljeno na tvojo mizo, bi bilo polno tolšče.
And he has also enticed you out of the mouth of the enemy:
17 Toda izpolnil si sodbo zlobnega. Sodba in pravica te bosta zgrabili.
[there is] a deep gulf [and] a rushing stream beneath it, and your table came down full of fatness. Judgement shall not fail from the righteous;
18 Ker je bes, pazi, da te ne bi odvzel s svojim udarcem. Potem te velika odkupnina ne more osvoboditi.
but there shall be wrath upon the ungodly, by reason of the ungodliness of the bribes which they received for iniquities.
19 Bo cenil tvoja bogastva? Ne niti zlata niti vseh sil moči.
Let not [your] mind willingly turn you aside from the petition of the feeble that are in distress.
20 Ne želi si noči, ko so ljudje iztrebljeni iz svojega kraja.
And draw not forth all the mighty [men] by night, so that the people should go up instead of them.
21 Pazi, ne oziraj se na krivičnost, kajti to si izbral raje kakor stisko.
But take heed lest you do that which is wrong: for of this you has made choice because of poverty.
22 Glej, Bog s svojo močjo povišuje. Kdo poučuje kakor on?
Behold, the Mighty One shall prevail by his strength: for who is powerful as he is?
23 Kdo se mu je pridružil na njegovi poti? Ali kdo lahko reče: ›Počel si krivičnost?‹
And who is he that examines his works? or who can say, he has wrought injustice?
24 Spomni se, da poveličuješ njegovo delo, ki ga ljudje gledajo.
Remember that his works are great [beyond] those which men have attempted.
25 Vsak človek ga lahko vidi. Človek ga lahko gleda od daleč.
Every man has seen in himself, how many mortals are wounded.
26 Glej, Bog je velik in mi ga ne poznamo niti število njegovih let ne more biti preiskano.
Behold, the Mighty One is great, and we shall not know [him]: the number of his years is even infinite.
27 Kajti kapljice vode dela majhne. Dež izliva glede na njegovo meglico,
And the drops of rain are numbered by him, and shall be poured out in rain to form a cloud.
28 katero oblaki kapljajo in obilno rosijo na človeka.
The ancient [heavens] shall flow, and the clouds overshadow innumerable mortals: he has fixed a time to cattle, and they know the order of rest. [Yet] by all these things your understanding is not astonished, neither is your mind disturbed in [your] body.
29 Mar prav tako lahko kdorkoli razume razširjanje oblakov ali zvok njegovega šotora?
And though one should understand the outspreadings of the clouds, [or] the measure of his tabernacle;
30 Glej, svojo svetlobo razširja nanje in pokriva dna morja.
behold he will stretch his bow against him, and he covers the bottom of the sea.
31 Kajti z njimi sodi ljudstvu, hrano daje v obilju.
For by them he will judge the nations: he will give food to him that has strength.
32 Z oblaki pokriva svetlobo in ji zapoveduje, naj ne sveti z oblakom, ki prihaja vmes.
He has hidden the light in [his] hands, and given charge concerning it to the interposing [cloud].
33 Njegov hrup govori o tem, tudi živina glede meglice.
The Lord will declare concerning this [to] his friend: [but there is] a portion also for unrighteousness.
