Job 20
1 Potem je odgovoril Cofár Naámčan in rekel:
Then answered Zophar the Na'amathite, and said,
2 »Zato mi moje misli povzročajo, da odgovorim in zaradi tega hitim.
Even therefore do my inmost thoughts give me an answer, and for this reason do I feel a strong excitement within me.
3 Slišal sem preverjanje svoje graje in duh mojega razumevanja mi povzroča, da odgovorim.
Reproof which casteth shame on me must I hear; yet out of my understanding will the spirit give me an answer.
4 Mar ne veš tega od davnine, odkar je bil človek postavljen na zemljo,
Dost thou know this? from the very beginning of things, from the very time when man was placed upon earth it was,
5 da je zmagoslavje zlobnega kratko, radost hinavca pa le za trenutek?
That the triumphal shouting of the wicked is ever of but a recent date, and the joy of the hypocrite endureth only for a moment.
6 Čeprav se njegova odličnost vzpenja do neba in njegova glava sega do oblakov,
Though his exaltation should mount up to the heavens, and his head should reach unto the clouds;
7 se bo vendarle pogubil za vedno, kot njegov lastni iztrebek. Tisti, ki so ga videli, bodo rekli: ›Kje je?‹
Yet when he but turneth round will he vanish for ever; those who have seen him will say, Where is he?
8 Odletel bo proč kakor sanje in ne bo ga najti. Da, pregnan bo kakor nočno videnje.
Like a dream will he fly away, and men will find him no more; yea, he will be chased away like a vision of the night.
9 Tudi oko, ki ga je videlo, ga ne bo več videlo niti ga njegov kraj ne bo več gledal.
If an eye have surveyed him, it will not do so again, and it will not behold him any more in his place.
10 Njegovi otroci bodo iskali, da ugodijo revnemu in njegove roke bodo obnovile njihove dobrine.
His children will suffer oppression from the indigent, and his hands will have to restore his [ill-gotten] wealth.
11 Njegove kosti so polne greha iz njegove mladosti, ki se bodo ulegle z njim v prah.
[Now] his bones are full of his youthful vigor; but it will [suddenly] lie down with him in the dust.
12 Čeprav je zlobnost sladka v njegovih ustih, čeprav to skriva pod svojim jezikom,
If the evil be sweet in his mouth, he will conceal it under his tongue;
13 čeprav temu prizanaša in tega ne zapusti, temveč to mirno drži znotraj svojih ust,
He will cherish it, and not forsake it; and hold it back within his palate;
14 je vendar njegova hrana v njegovi notranjosti spremenjena, to je žolč kober znotraj njega.
His food is thus changed within his bowels, and becometh the venom of asps within him.
15 Pogoltnil je bogastva in ponovno jih bo izbljuval. Bog jih bo izvrgel iz njegovega trebuha.
The wealth which he hath swallowed, will he have to vomit up again; God will drive it out of his belly.
16 Sesal bo strup kober, gadov jezik ga bo ubil.
The poison of asps will he have to suck; the viper's tongue will slay him.
17 Ne bo videl rek, poplav, potokov iz meda in masla.
He shall not look with pleasure on streams, on flowing brooks of honey and cream.
18 To, za kar se je trudil, bo povrnil in tega ne bo pogoltnil. Glede na njegovo imetje bo povračilo in v tem se ne bo veselil.
He restoreth what he hath labored for, and will not swallow it down; however much he may have obtained by toil, he will not have any joy of it.
19 Ker je zatiral in zapustil ubogega, ker je nasilno odvzel hišo, ki je ni zgradil,
Because he oppressed and forsook the indigent; because he took violently away a house, shall he not rebuild it;
20 zagotovo ne bo čutil spokojnosti v svojem trebuhu, ne bo rešil od tega, kar si je želel.
Because he knew not quietness in his bosom, shall he not escape through what is the most precious to him.
21 Ničesar ne bo ostalo od njegove hrane, zato noben človek ne bo gledal za njegovimi dobrinami.
Nothing was spared from his craving to eat: therefore shall his wealth not prosper.
22 V polnosti svoje zadostnosti bo v stiskah; vsaka roka zlobnega bo prišla nadenj.
In the fulness of his abundance will distress assail him: every hand of [those he] troubled will come against him.
23 Ko si namerava napolniti svoj trebuh, bo Bog nadenj vrgel razjarjenost svojega besa in ta bo deževala nadenj, medtem ko jé.
In order to fill his belly, [God] will send out against him the fury of his wrath, and will rain it upon him for his eating.
24 Pobegnil bo pred železnim orožjem in lok iz jekla ga bo prebodel.
If he flee from the iron weapon, the brazen bow will strike him through.
25 Ta je izvlečen in prihaja iz telesa. Da, lesketajoč meč prihaja iz njegovega žolča; strahote so nad njim.
He draweth it, and it cometh out of the body; yea, out of his gall the glittering [arrow] cometh forth: over him come the terrors [of death].
26 Vsa tema bo skrita v njegovih skritih krajih. Ogenj, ki se ni razgorel, ga bo požrl; slabo bo šlo s tistim, ki je ostal v njegovem šotoru.
Entire darkness is laid by for his treasures: a fire not urged by blowing will consume him; it will destroy any one that is left in his tent.
27 Nebesa bodo razodela njegovo krivičnost in zemlja se bo dvignila zoper njega.
The heavens will lay open his iniquity; and the earth will raise herself up against him.
28 Donos njegove hiše bo odšel in njegove dobrine bodo odtekle na dan njegovega besa.
The product of his house will be banished, flowing away on the day of his wrath.
29 To je delež zlobnemu človeku od Boga in od Boga določena mu dediščina.«
This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and his decreed heritage from God.
