Job 18
1 Potem je odgovoril Bildád Suhéjec in rekel:
Then Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,
2 »Kako dolgo bo, preden boste naredili konec besedam? Premislite in potem bomo govorili.
“When will you stop your talk? Consider, and afterwards we will speak.
3 Zakaj smo šteti kakor živali in smatrani podle v vašem pogledu?
Why are we regarded as beasts, stupid in your sight?
4 V svoji jezi trga samega sebe. Mar bo zemlja zapuščena zaradi tebe? Mar bo skala odstranjena iz svojega kraja?
You who tear at yourself in your anger, should the earth be forsaken for you or should the rocks be removed out of their places?
5 Da, svetloba zlobnega bo ugasnjena in iskrica njegovega ognja ne bo sijala.
Indeed, the light of the wicked person will be put out; the spark of his fire will not shine.
6 Svetloba bo tema v njegovem šotoru in njegova sveča bo ugasnjena z njim.
The light will be dark in his tent; his lamp above him will be put out.
7 Koraki njegove moči bodo omejeni in njegov lastni nasvet ga bo vrgel dol.
The steps of his strength will be made short; his own plans will cast him down.
8 Kajti s svojim lastnim stopalom je vržen v mrežo in hodi po zanki.
For he will be thrown into a net by his own feet; he will walk into a pitfall.
9 Past ga bo prijela za peto in ropar bo prevladal zoper njega.
A trap will take him by the heel; a snare will lay hold on him.
10 Zanka je položena zanj na tleh in pasti zanj na poti.
A noose is hidden for him on the ground; and a trap for him in the way.
11 Strahote ga bodo prestrašile na vsaki strani in ga pognale k njegovim stopalom.
Terrors will make him afraid on every side; they will chase him at his heels.
12 Njegova moč bo oslabljena zaradi lakote in uničenje bo pripravljeno ob njegovi strani.
His wealth will turn into hunger, and calamity will be ready at his side.
13 Požrlo bo moč njegove kože. Celó prvorojenec smrti bo požrl njegovo moč.
The parts of his body will be devoured; indeed, the firstborn of death will devour his parts.
14 Njegovo zaupanje bo izkoreninjeno iz njegovega šotora in to ga bo privedlo h kralju strahot.
He is torn from the safety of his tent and marched off to the king of terrors.
15 Prebivalo bo v njegovem šotoru, ker ta ni njegov. Žveplo bo raztreseno nad njegovim prebivališčem.
People not his own will live in his tent after they see that sulfur is scattered within his home.
16 Njegove korenine bodo posušene spodaj in zgoraj bo njegova veja odsekana.
His roots will be dried up beneath; above will his branch be cut off.
17 Spomin nanj bo izginil z zemlje in nobenega imena ne bo imel na ulici.
His memory will perish from the earth; he will have no name in the street.
18 Iz svetlobe bo pognan v temo in pregnan bo iz zemeljskega [kroga].
He will be driven from light into darkness and be chased out of this world.
19 Med svojim ljudstvom ne bo imel niti sina niti nečaka niti nobenega preživelega v svojih prebivališčih.
He will have no son or son's son among his people, nor any remaining kinfolk where he had stayed.
20 Tisti, ki pridejo za njim, bodo osupli ob njegovem dnevu, kakor so bili zgroženi tisti, ki so šli poprej.
Those who live in the west will be horrified at what happens to him one day; those who live in the east will be frightened by it.
21 Zagotovo, takšna so prebivališča zlobnih in to je kraj tistega, ki ne pozna Boga.«
Surely such are the homes of unrighteous people, the places of those who do not know God.”
