< Job 17 >
1 Moj dih je pokvarjen, moji dnevi so izumrli, zame so pripravljeni grobovi.
“My spirit is broken; my days are extinguished; the grave awaits me.
2 Mar niso tukaj z menoj zasmehovalci? Mar moje oko ne vztraja v njihovem izzivanju?
Surely mockers surround me, and my eyes must gaze at their rebellion.
3 Sedaj se ulezi, postavi me v poroštvo s seboj.
Give me, I pray, the pledge You demand. Who else will be my guarantor?
4 Kajti njihovo srce si skril pred razumevanjem, zato jih ne boš povišal.
You have closed their minds to understanding; therefore You will not exalt them.
5 Kdor svojim prijateljem govori prilizovanja, bodo pešale celo oči njegovih otrok.
If a man denounces his friends for a price, the eyes of his children will fail.
He has made me a byword among the people, a man in whose face they spit.
7 Tudi moje oko je zatemnjeno zaradi bridkosti in vsi moji udi so kakor senca.
My eyes have grown dim with grief, and my whole body is but a shadow.
8 Pošteni možje bodo osupli ob tem in nedolžni se bo razvnel zoper hinavca.
The upright are appalled at this, and the innocent are stirred against the godless.
Yet a righteous one holds to his way, and the one with clean hands grows stronger.
But come back and try again, all of you. For I will not find a wise man among you.
11 Moji dnevi so minili, moji nameni so zlomljeni, celó misli mojega srca.
My days have passed; my plans are broken off— even the desires of my heart.
They have turned night into day, making light seem near in the face of darkness.
13 Če čakam, je moja hiša grob; svojo posteljo sem postlal v temi. (Sheol )
If I look for Sheol as my home, if I spread out my bed in darkness, (Sheol )
14 Trohnenju sem rekel: ›Ti si moj oče, ‹ ličinki: › Ti si moja mati in moja sestra.‹
and say to corruption, ‘You are my father,’ and to the worm, ‘My mother,’ or ‘My sister,’
15 Kje je sedaj moje upanje? Glede mojega upanja, kdo ga bo videl?
where then is my hope? Who can see any hope for me?
16 Šli bodo dol k zapahom jame, ko je naš skupni počitek v prahu.« (Sheol )
Will it go down to the gates of Sheol? Will we go down together into the dust?” (Sheol )
