Jeremija 35

1 Beseda, ki je prišla Jeremiju od Gospoda v dneh Jojakíma, Jošíjevega sina, Judovega kralja, rekoč:

The word which came unto Jeremiah from Yahweh, —in the days of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah saying:

2 »Pojdi v hišo Rehábovcev in jim govori in jih privedi v Gospodovo hišo, v eno izmed sob in jim daj piti vino.«

Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak with them, and bring them into the house of Yahweh, into one of the chambers, —and give them, wine, to drink.

3 Potem sem vzel Jaazanjá, Jeremijevega sina, sina Habacinjájevega in njegove brate in vse njegove sinove in celotno hišo Rehábovcev;

So I took Jaazaniah, son of Jeremiah son of Habazziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, —and all the house of the Rechabites;

4 in jih privedel v Gospodovo hišo, v sobo sinov Hanána, Jigdaljájevega sina, Božjega moža, ki je bila pri sobi princev, ki je bila nad sobo Šalúmovega sina Maasejája, čuvaja vrat.

and brought them into the house of Yahweh, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan son of Igdaliah, a man of God, —which was beside the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah son of Shallum keeper of the porch;

5 Pred sinove hiše Rehábovcev sem postavil vrče, polne vina in čaše ter jim rekel: »Pijte vino.«

and I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites bowls full of wine, and cups, —and said unto them Drink ye wine.

6 Toda rekli so: »Nobenega vina ne bomo pili, kajti Jonadáb, sin Rehába, naš oče, nam je zapovedal, rekoč: ›Nobenega vina ne boste pili niti vi niti vaši sinovi na veke.

Then said they, —We will not drink wine, —for Jonadab son of Rechab, our father, laid command upon us, saying, Ye shall not drink wine, ye, nor your sons, unto times age-abiding;

7 Niti ne boste gradili hiše, niti sejali semena, niti sadili vinograda, niti imeli karkoli, temveč boste vse svoje dni prebivali v šotorih, da boste lahko mnogo dni živeli v deželi, kjer ste tujci.‹

nor house, shall ye build nor, seed, shall ye sow, nor vineyard, shall ye plant, neither shall ye have them, —but in tents, shall ye dwell, all your days, that ye may live many days on the face of the soil where ye are sojourning.

8 Tako smo ubogali glas Rehábovega sina Jonadába, našega očeta, v vsem, kar nam je določil, da vse naše dni ne pijemo nobenega vina, ne mi, ne naše žene, ne naši sinovi, niti naše hčere,

So we have hearkened unto the voice of Jonadab, son of Rechab, our father, in all that he commanded us, —not to drink wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons nor our daughters;

9 niti da si ne gradimo hiš, da bi prebivali v njih, niti nimamo vinograda, niti polja, niti semena,

and not to build houses for us to dwell in, —and so, vineyard or field or seed, have we none;

10 temveč smo prebivali v šotorih in ubogali in storili glede na vse, kar nam je naš oče Jonadáb zapovedal.

but we have dwelt in tents, —and have hearkened and done, according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.

11 Toda pripetilo se je, ko je babilonski kralj Nebukadnezar prišel gor v to deželo, da smo rekli: ›Pridimo in pojdimo v Jeruzalem zaradi strahu pred vojsko Kaldejcev in zaradi strahu pred sirsko vojsko‹ in tako prebivajmo pri Jeruzalemu.‹«

And so it came to pass when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, —Let us even enter, Jerusalem, because of the force of the Chaldeans and because of the force of the Syrians: So have we dwelt in Jerusalem.

12 Potem je prišla beseda od Gospoda Jeremiju, rekoč:

Then came the word of Yahweh unto Jeremiah, saying:

13 »Tako govori Gospod nad bojevniki, Izraelov Bog: ›Pojdite in povejte ljudem Juda in prebivalcem Jeruzalema: ›Ali ne boste sprejeli poučevanja, da prisluhnete mojim besedam?‹ govori Gospod.

Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, Go and say to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, —Will ye not receive correction by hearkening unto my words? Demandeth Yahweh:

14 ›Besede Rehábovega sina Jonadába, ki jih je zapovedal svojim sinovom, naj ne pijejo vina, se izvršujejo, kajti do današnjega dne ne pijejo, temveč ubogajo zapoved svojega očeta. Vendar sem vam jaz govoril, vzdigujoč zgodaj in govoreč, toda niste mi prisluhnili.

Confirmed are the words of Jonadab son of Rechab—which he commanded his sons that they should not drink, wine, and they have not drunk until this day, for they have hearkened unto the command of their father, But, I, have spoken unto you, betimes, speaking, and ye have not hearkened, unto me.

15 K vam sem pošiljal tudi vse svoje služabnike preroke, vzdigujoče zgodaj in jih pošiljal, rekoč: ›Vrnite se sedaj, vsakdo ali vsak človek iz svoje zle poti in poboljšajte svoja dejanja in ne pojdite za drugimi bogovi, da jim služite in boste prebivali v deželi, ki sem jo dal vam in vašim očetom.‹ Toda niste nagnili svojega ušesa niti mi niste prisluhnili.

And I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, betimes, sending, saying, Return I pray you—every man from his wicked way, And amend your doings, And do not go after other gods to serve them, So shall ye remain on the soil which I gave to you, and to your fathers, —but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened, unto me.

16 Ker so sinovi Rehábovega sina Jonadába izvajali zapoved svojega očeta, ki jim jo je zapovedal, toda to ljudstvo mi ni prisluhnilo,

Because the sons of Jonadab son of Rechab have, confirmed, the commandment of their father which he commanded them, —whereas, this people, have not hearkened unto me,

17 zato tako govori Gospod, Bog nad bojevniki, Izraelov Bog: ›Glejte, privedel bom nad Juda in nad vse prebivalce Jeruzalema, vse zlo, ki sem ga proglasil zoper njih, ker sem jim govoril, toda niso slišali, in klical k njim, toda niso odgovorili.‹«

Therefore, Thus, saith Yahweh, God of hosts, God of Israel, Behold me! bringing in against Judah and against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, all the calamity, which I have spoken concerning them, —Because I spake unto them and they did not hearken, And I called to them and they did not answer.

18 Jeremija je hiši Rehábovcev rekel: »Tako govori Gospod nad bojevniki, Izraelov Bog: ›Ker ste ubogali zapoved Jonadába, svojega očeta in se držali vseh njegovih predpisov in storili glede na vse, kar vam je zapovedal,

But to the house of the Rechabites, said Jeremiah: Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, Because ye have hearkened unto the commandment of Jonadab your father, and have kept all his commandments, and done according to all that he commanded you

19 zato tako govori Gospod nad bojevniki, Izraelov Bog: ›Rehábovemu sinu Jonadábu ne bo manjkal moški, da bi stal pred menoj na veke.‹«

Therefore, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, —Jonadab son of Rechab shall not want one to stand before me, all the days!
