Izaija 43

1 Toda sedaj tako govori Gospod, ki te je ustvaril, oh Jakob in tisti, ki te je oblikoval, oh Izrael: »Ne boj se, kajti odkupil sem te, poklical sem te s tvojim imenom, moj si.

But now thus saith Jehovah, that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed thee, I have called [thee] by thy name; thou art mine.

2 Ko hodiš skozi vode, bom s teboj in skozi reke, te ne bodo preplavile. Ko hodiš skozi ogenj, ne boš ožgan niti se plamen ne bo vnel na tebi.

When thou passest through the waters, I [will be] with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

3 Kajti jaz sem Gospod, tvoj Bog, Sveti Izraelov, tvoj Odrešenik. Egipt sem dal za tvojo odkupnino, Etiopijo in Sebo zate.

For I [am] Jehovah thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.

4 Ker si bil dragocen v mojem pogledu, bil si častitljiv in jaz sem te ljubil. Zato bom zate dal ljudi in ljudstva za tvoje življenje.

Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee; and I will give men for thee, and peoples for thy life.

5 Ne boj se, kajti jaz sem s teboj. Tvoje seme bom privedel od vzhoda in te zbral od zahoda.

Fear not, for I [am] with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;

6 Severu bom rekel: ›Izroči‹ in jugu: ›Ne zadržuj.‹ Moje sinove privedi od daleč in moje hčere od koncev zemlje,

I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from afar, and my daughters from the end of the earth,

7 celó vsakega, ki je klican z mojim imenom, kajti jaz sem ga ustvaril za svojo slavo, jaz sem ga oblikoval; da, jaz sem ga naredil.

every one that is called by my name, and whom I have created for my glory: I have formed him, yea, I have made him.

8 Privedi slepo ljudstvo, ki ima oči in gluhe, ki imajo ušesa.

Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.

9 Naj bodo vsi narodi zbrani skupaj in naj bo ljudstvo zbrano. Kdo izmed njih lahko to razglasi in nam pokaže prejšnje stvari? Naj privedejo naprej svoje priče, da bodo lahko opravičeni. Ali naj slišijo in rečejo: › To je resnica.‹

Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the peoples be assembled: who among them declareth this, or causeth us to hear former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified; or let them hear, and say, [It is] truth.

10 Vi ste moje priče, ‹ govori Gospod in moj služabnik, ki sem ga izbral, da me boste lahko poznali in mi verjeli in razumeli, da jaz sem ta. Pred menoj ni bil oblikovan noben Bog niti ne bo za menoj.

Ye are my witnesses, saith Jehovah, and my servant whom I have chosen; that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I [am] HE: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

11 Jaz, celó jaz sem Gospod in poleg mene ni rešitelja.

I, I [am] Jehovah; and besides me there is no saviour.

12 Razglasil sem, rešil in pokazal, ko med vami ni bilo nobenega tujega boga. Zato ste vi moje priče, ‹ govori Gospod, ›da jaz sem Bog.

It is I that have declared, and have saved, and have shewed, when there was no strange [god] among you; and ye are my witnesses, saith Jehovah, that I [am] God.

13 Da, preden je bil dan, jaz sem in nobenega ni, ki lahko osvobodi iz moje roke. Delal bom in kdo bo to dopustil?‹

Yea, since the day was, I [am] HE, and there is none that delivereth out of my hand: I will work, and who shall hinder it?

14 Tako govori Gospod, vaš odkupitelj, Sveti Izraelov: ›Zaradi vas sem poslal v Babilon in ponižal vse njihove plemiče in Kaldejce, katerih vpitje je na ladjah.

Thus saith Jehovah, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought all of them down as fugitives, even the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.

15 Jaz sem Gospod, vaš Sveti, stvarnik Izraela, vaš Kralj.‹

I [am] Jehovah, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King.

16 Tako govori Gospod, ki dela pot v morju in stezo v mogočnih vodah,

Thus saith Jehovah, who maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters,

17 ki privede naprej bojni voz in konja, vojsko in moč; skupaj se bodo ulegli, ne bodo vstali. Izumrli so, pogašeni so kakor predivo.

who bringeth forth chariot and horse, army and power — they lie down together, they shall not rise; they are extinct, they are quenched as tow:

18 Ne spominjajte se prejšnjih stvari niti ne preudarjajte stvari od davnine.

— Remember not the former things, neither consider the ancient things:

19 Glejte, storil bom novo stvar. Sedaj bo ta vzbrstela; mar tega ne boste spoznali? Naredil bom celo pot v divjini in reke v puščavi.

behold, I do a new thing; now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the waste.

20 Divja žival polja me bo spoštovala, zmaji in sove, ker dam vode v divjino in reke v puščavo, da dam piti svojemu ljudstvu, svojim izbranim.

The beast of the field shall glorify me, the jackals and the ostriches; for I will give waters in the wilderness, rivers in the waste, to give drink to my people, my chosen.

21 To ljudstvo sem oblikoval zase, naznanjali bodo mojo hvalo.

This people have I formed for myself: they shall shew forth my praise.

22 Toda ti nisi klical k meni, oh Jakob, temveč si se me naveličal, oh Izrael.

— But thou hast not called upon me, Jacob; for thou hast been weary of me, O Israel:

23 Nisi mi privedel majhne živine od svojih žgalnih daritev niti me nisi častil s svojimi klavnimi daritvami. Nisem ti storil, da služiš z daritvijo niti te nisem mučil s kadilom.

thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt-offerings, neither hast thou glorified me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to toil with an oblation, nor wearied thee with incense.

24 Z denarjem mi nisi kupil nobenega sladkornega trsta niti me nisi nasičeval s tolščo svojih klavnih daritev, temveč si me s svojimi grehi primoral, da služim; izmučil si me s svojimi krivičnostmi.

Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices; but thou hast made me to toil with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.

25 Jaz, celó jaz, sem tisti, ki zaradi sebe izbrisujem tvoje prestopke in se ne bom spominjal tvojih grehov.

— I, I [am] He that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and I will not remember thy sins.

26 Spomni me, skupaj se pravdajva. Ti razglasi, da boš lahko opravičen.

Put me in remembrance, let us plead together; rehearse thine own [cause], that thou mayest be justified.

27 Tvoj prvi oče je grešil in tvoji učitelji so se pregrešili zoper mene.

Thy first father hath sinned, and thy mediators have rebelled against me.

28 Zato sem oskrunil prince svetišča in dal Jakoba v prekletstvo in Izraela v graje.

And I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the ban, and Israel to reproaches.
