1 To so torej rodovi Noetovih sinov, Sema, Hama in Jafeta, in tem so se po poplavi rodili sinovi.
Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah and of Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons were born to them after the flood.
2 Jafetovi sinovi: Gomer, Magóg, Madáj, Javán, Tubál, Mešeh in Tirás.
The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.
3 Gomerjevi sinovi: Aškenáz, Rifát in Togarmá.
The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.
4 Javánovi sinovi: Elišá in Taršíš, Kitéjec in Dodaním.
The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.
5 S temi so bili otoki poganov razdeljeni po njihovih deželah, vsakdo po svojem jeziku, po svojih družinah, v svojih narodih.
From these, the coastlands of the nations separated into their territories, every one according to its language, according to their families, in their nations.
6 Hamovi sinovi: Kuš, Micrájim, Put in Kánaan.
The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.
7 Kuševi sinovi: Sebá, Havilá, Sabtá, Ramá in Sabtehá. In Ramájeva sinova: Šebá in Dedán.
The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.
8 Kuš je zaplodil Nimróda. Ta je začenjal biti mogočen na zemlji.
Cush became the father of Nimrod. He began to be a mighty one on the earth.
9 Bil je mogočen lovec pred Gospodom, zakaj rečeno je: »Celo kakor Nimród, mogočen lovec pred Gospodom.«
He was a mighty hunter before God. Therefore it is said, "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before God."
10 Začetek njegovega kraljestva pa je bil Babel, Ereh, Akád in Kalne v šinárski deželi.
And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Akkad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
11 Iz tiste dežele je odšel proti Asúrju in zgradil Ninive ter mesta Rehobót, Kelah in
Out of that land he went forth into Assyria, and built Nineveh, and Rehoboth Ir, and Calah,
12 Resen med Ninivami in Kelahom; isto je veliko mesto.

These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their languages, in their lands, in their nations.
21 Tudi Semu, očetu vseh Eberjevih otrok, Jafetovemu starejšemu bratu, celó njemu so bili rojeni otroci.
To Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth, to him also were children born.
22 Semovi otroci: Elám, Asúr, Arpahšád, Lud in Arám.
The sons of Shem: Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram.
23 Arámovi otroci: Uc, Hul, Geter in Maš.
The sons of Aram: Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.
24 Arpahšád je zaplodil Šelaha, in Šelah je zaplodil Eberja.
And Arpachshad became the father of Kenan. And Kenan became the father of Shelah. And Shelah became the father of Eber.
25 Eberju sta bila rojena dva sinova. Enemu je bilo ime Peleg, kajti v njegovih dneh je bila zemlja razdeljena in ime njegovega brata je bilo Joktán.
To Eber were born two sons. The name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided. His brother's name was Joktan.

27 Hadoráma, Uzála, Diklá,
and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,

and Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
29 Ofírja, Havilá in Jobába. Vsi ti so bili Joktánovi sinovi.
and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations, and from these the nations branched out on the earth after the flood.
