2 Timoteju 4
1 Zato te rotim pred Bogom in Gospodom Jezusom Kristusom, ki bo sodil žive in mrtve ob njegovi pojavitvi in njegovem kraljestvu:
I charge you therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 oznanjuj besedo, bodi takojšen v sezoni, izven sezone, grajaj, oštevaj, spodbujaj z vso potrpežljivostjo in naukom.
Preach the word; (logos) be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3 Kajti prišel bo čas, ko ne bodo hoteli prenašati zdravega nauka, ampak si bodo po svojih lastnih poželenjih, ker imajo željna ušesa, kopičili učitelje
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 in svoja ušesa bodo odvračali od resnice in zapeljani bodo v bajke.
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5 Toda ti pazi v vseh stvareh, pretrpi stiske, opravi delo evangelista, naredi popoln dokaz svoje službe.
But watch you in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of your ministry.
6 Kajti sedaj sem pripravljen, da bom žrtvovan in čas mojega odhoda je blizu.
For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7 Bojeval sem dober boj, zaključil svoj tek, vero ohranil.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8 Odslej je zame prihranjena krona pravičnosti, ki mi jo bo na tisti dan dal Gospod, pravičen sodnik; in ne samo meni, temveč tudi vsem tem, ki ljubijo njegovo pojavitev.
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
9 Uporabi svojo prizadevnost, da v kratkem prideš k meni,
Do your diligence to come shortly unto me:
10 kajti Demá me je zapustil, ker je vzljubil ta sedanji svet in je odpotoval v Tesaloníko; Kreskens v Galatijo, Tit v Dalmacijo. (aiōn g165)
For Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia. (aiōn g165)
11 Samo Luka je z menoj. Vzemi Marka in ga privedi s seboj, kajti koristen mi je za službo.
Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with you: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.
12 Tihika pa sem poslal v Efez.
And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.
13 Ko prideš, prinesi s seboj ogrinjalo, ki sem ga pustil v Troádi, pri Karpu in knjige in še posebej pergamente.
The coat that I left at Troas with Carpus, when you come, bring with you, and the books, but especially the parchments.
14 Kotlar Aleksander mi je storil mnogo hudega. Gospod ga nagradi glede na njegova dela.
Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:
15 Njega se tudi ti pazi, kajti silno se je upiral našim besedam.
Of whom be you ware also; for he has greatly withstood our words. (logos)
16 Ob mojem prvem zagovoru noben človek ni stal z menoj, temveč so me vsi ljudje zapustili. Prosim Boga, da to ne bo prišlo v poštev k njihovi obtožnici.
At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.
17 Vendar je z menoj stal Gospod in me krepil, da bi lahko po meni postalo oznanjevanje popolnoma znano in da bi vsi pogani lahko slišali; in rešen sem bil iz levjih ust.
Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
18 In Gospod me bo osvobodil iz vsakega zlega dela in me ohranil za svoje nebeško kraljestvo. Njemu bodi slava na veke vekov. Amen. (aiōn g165)
And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)

20 Erást je ostal v Korintu, le Trofima sem bolnega pustil v Miletu.
Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick.
21 Uporabi svojo prizadevnost, da prideš pred zimo. Pozdravljajo te Evbúl in Pudent in Lin in Klavdija ter vsi bratje.
Do your diligence to come before winter. Eubulus greets you, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren.
22 Gospod Jezus Kristus bodi s tvojim duhom. Milost bodi z vami. Amen. [Druga poslanica Timóteju, prvemu določenemu duhovnemu nadzorniku cerkve Efežanov, je bila napisana iz Rima, ko je bil Pavel drugič priveden pred Nerona.]
The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. (pneuma) Grace be with you. Amen.
