1 Tako so prinesli Božjo skrinjo in jo postavili na sredo šotora, ki ga je kralj David postavil zanjo ter pred Bogom darovali žgalne daritve in mirovne daritve.
They brought in God’s ark, and set it in the middle of the tent that David had pitched for it; and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God.
2 Ko je David končal žrtvovanje žgalnih daritev in mirovnih daritev, je v Gospodovem imenu blagoslovil ljudstvo.
When David had finished offering the burnt offering and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in Yahweh’s name.
3 Vsakemu iz Izraela, tako moškemu kakor ženski, vsakemu je razdelil hleb kruha, dober kos mesa in flaškon vina.
He gave to everyone of Israel, both man and woman, to everyone a loaf of bread, a portion of meat, and a cake of raisins.
4 Nekatere izmed Lévijevcev je določil, da služijo pred Gospodovo skrinjo in da se spominjajo, se zahvaljujejo in hvalijo Gospoda, Izraelovega Boga:
He appointed some of the Levites to minister before Yahweh’s ark, and to commemorate, to thank, and to praise Yahweh, the God of Israel:
5 vodja Asáfa in poleg njega Zeharjá, Jeiéla, Šemiramóta, Jehiéla, Matitjája, Eliába, Benajája in Obéd Edóma; in Jeiéla s plunkami in harfami, toda Asáf je igral na cimbale;
Asaph the chief, and second to him Zechariah, then Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, with stringed instruments and with harps; and Asaph with cymbals, sounding aloud;
6 tudi duhovnika Benajája in Jahaziéla s trobentami nenehno pred skrinjo Božje zaveze.
with Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually, before the ark of the covenant of God.
7 Potem je na ta dan David prvič izročil ta psalm v roko Asáfa in njegovih bratov, da se zahvalijo Gospodu.
Then on that day David first ordained giving of thanks to Yahweh by the hand of Asaph and his brothers.
8 Zahvaljujte se Gospodu, kličite njegovo ime, med ljudstvom razglašajte njegova dela.
Oh give thanks to Yahweh. Call on his name. Make what he has done known among the peoples.
9 Prepevajte mu, prepevajte mu psalme, govorite o vseh njegovih čudovitih delih.
Sing to him. Sing praises to him. Tell of all his marvelous works.
10 Ponašajte se z njegovim svetim imenom. Naj se veseli srce tistih, ki iščejo Gospoda.
Glory in his holy name. Let the heart of those who seek Yahweh rejoice.
11 Iščite Gospoda in njegovo moč, neprenehoma iščite njegov obraz.
Seek Yahweh and his strength. Seek his face forever more.
12 Spominjajte se njegovih čudovitih del, ki jih je storil, njegovih čudežev in sodb njegovih ust;
Remember his marvelous works that he has done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth,
13 oh vi seme Izraela, njegovega služabnika, vi Jakobovi otroci, njegovi izbranci.
you offspring of Israel his servant, you children of Jacob, his chosen ones.
14 On je Gospod, naš Bog, njegove sodbe so po vsej zemlji.
He is Yahweh our God. His judgments are in all the earth.
15 Vedno se zavedajte njegove zaveze, besede, katero je zapovedal tisočim rodovom,
Remember his covenant forever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations,
16 celo zaveze, ki jo je sklenil z Abrahamom in njegove prisege Izaku
the covenant which he made with Abraham, his oath to Isaac.
17 in isto je potrdil Jakobu za zakon in Izraelu za večno zavezo,
He confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant,
18 rekoč: »Tebi bom dal kánaansko deželo, žreb vaše dediščine, «
saying, “I will give you the land of Canaan, The lot of your inheritance,”
19 ko vas je bilo le malo, celo peščica in tujci v njej.
when you were but a few men in number, yes, very few, and foreigners in it.
20 Ko so hodili od naroda k narodu in od enega kraljestva k drugemu ljudstvu,
They went about from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people.
21 nobenemu človeku ni pustil, da jim stori krivico; da, zaradi njih je grajal kralje,
He allowed no man to do them wrong. Yes, he reproved kings for their sakes,
22 rekoč: »Ne dotikajte se mojih maziljencev in mojim prerokom ne delajte hudega.«
“Don’t touch my anointed ones! Do my prophets no harm!”
23 Poj Gospodu, vsa zemlja, iz dneva v dan naznanjaj njegovo rešitev duše.
Sing to Yahweh, all the earth! Display his salvation from day to day.
24 Oznanjajte njegovo slavo med pogani, njegova čudovita dela med vsemi narodi.
Declare his glory among the nations, and his marvelous works among all the peoples.
25 Kajti velik je Gospod in silno naj bo hvaljen. Njega se je treba bati nad vsemi bogovi.
For great is Yahweh, and greatly to be praised. He also is to be feared above all gods.
26 Kajti vsi bogovi ljudstva so maliki, toda Gospod je naredil nebesa.
For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but Yahweh made the heavens.
27 Slava in čast sta v njegovi prisotnosti, moč in veselje sta na njegovem kraju.
Honor and majesty are before him. Strength and gladness are in his place.
28 Dajajte Gospodu, ve sorodstva ljudstev, dajajte Gospodu slavo in moč.
Ascribe to Yahweh, you families of the peoples, ascribe to Yahweh glory and strength!
29 Dajajte Gospodu slavo, primerno njegovemu imenu, prinesite daritev in pridite predenj. Obožujte Gospoda v lepoti svetosti.
Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due to his name. Bring an offering, and come before him. Worship Yahweh in holy array.
30 Boj se pred njim, vsa zemlja. Tudi zemeljski [krog] bo trden, ki ne bo omajan.
Tremble before him, all the earth. The world also is established that it can’t be moved.
31 Naj bodo nebesa vesela in naj se zemlja veseli, in ljudje naj govorijo med narodi: » Gospod kraljuje.«
Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice! Let them say among the nations, “Yahweh reigns!”
32 Naj buči morje in njegova polnost. Naj se polja veselijo in vse, kar je na njih.
Let the sea roar, and its fullness! Let the field exult, and all that is in it!
33 Potem bodo gozdna drevesa prepevala ob Gospodovi prisotnosti, ker on prihaja, da sodi zemljo.
Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before Yahweh, for he comes to judge the earth.
34 Oh zahvaljujte se Gospodu, ker je dober, kajti njegovo usmiljenje traja za vedno.
Oh give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.
35 Recite: »Reši nas, oh Bog rešitve naših duš, zberi nas skupaj in nas osvobodi pred pogani, da se bomo lahko zahvaljevali tvojemu svetemu imenu in slavili v tvoji hvali.
Say, “Save us, God of our salvation! Gather us together and deliver us from the nations, to give thanks to your holy name, to triumph in your praise.”
36 Blagoslovljen bodi Gospod, Izraelov Bog na veke vekov.« In vse ljudstvo je reklo: »Amen« in hvalilo Gospoda.
Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, from everlasting even to everlasting. All the people said, “Amen,” and praised Yahweh.
37 Tako je tam, pred skrinjo Gospodove zaveze, pustil Asáfa in njegove brate, da nenehno služijo pred skrinjo, kakor je zahtevalo vsakodnevno delo,
So he left Asaph and his brothers there before the ark of Yahweh’s covenant, to minister before the ark continually, as every day’s work required;
38 in Obéd Edóma z oseminšestdesetimi njihovimi brati; tudi Jedutúnovega sina Obéd Edóma in Hosája, da bosta vratarja;
and Obed-Edom with their sixty-eight relatives; Obed-Edom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah to be doorkeepers;
39 in duhovnika Cadóka in njegove brate duhovnike pred Gospodovim šotorskim svetiščem na visokem kraju, ki je bil pri Gibeónu,
and Zadok the priest and his brothers the priests, before Yahweh’s tabernacle in the high place that was at Gibeon,
40 da darujejo žgalne daritve Gospodu na oltarju, nenehne žgalne daritve, jutranje in večerne in da storijo glede na vse, kar je pisano v Gospodovi postavi, ki jo je zapovedal Izraelu;
to offer burnt offerings to Yahweh on the altar of burnt offering continually morning and evening, even according to all that is written in Yahweh’s law, which he commanded to Israel;
41 in z njimi Hemána, Jedutúna in druge, ki so bili izbrani, ki so bili določeni po imenu, da se zahvaljujejo Gospodu, ker njegovo usmiljenje traja večno;
and with them Heman and Jeduthun and the rest who were chosen, who were mentioned by name, to give thanks to Yahweh, because his loving kindness endures forever;
42 in z njimi Hemána in Jedutúna s trobentami in cimbalami za tiste, da bi igrali in z Božjimi glasbenimi instrumenti. Jedutúnovi sinovi pa so bili vratarji.
and with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should sound aloud, and with instruments for the songs of God, and the sons of Jeduthun to be at the gate.
43 In vse ljudstvo je odšlo vsak človek k svoji hiši, in David se je vrnil, da blagoslovi svojo hišo.
All the people departed, each man to his house; and David returned to bless his house.
