Книга Иова 41
1 Извлечеши ли змиа удицею, или обложиши узду о ноздрех его?
Canst thou draw out leviathan with a fish hook? or press down his tongue with a cord?
2 Или вдежеши колце в ноздри его? Шилом же провертиши ли устне его?
Canst thou put a rope into his nose? or pierce his jaw through with a hook?
3 Возглаголет же ли ти с молением, (или) с прошением кротко?
Will he make many supplications unto thee? or will he speak soft words unto thee?
4 Сотворит же ли завет с тобою? Поймеши же ли его раба вечна?
Will he make a covenant with thee, that thou shouldest take him for a servant for ever?
5 Поиграеши же ли с ним, якоже со птицею, или свяжеши его яко врабия детищу?
Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens?
6 Питаются ли же им языцы, и разделяют ли его Финикийстии народи?
Shall the bands [of fishermen] make traffic of him? shall they part him among the merchants?
7 Вся же плавающая собравшеся не подимут кожи единыя ошиба его, и корабли рыбарей главы его.
Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons, or his head with fish spears?
8 Возложиши же ли нань руку, воспомянув брань бывающую на теле его? И ктому да не будет.
Lay thine hand upon him; remember the battle, and do so no more.
9 Не видел ли еси его, и глаголемым не удивился ли еси? Не убоялся ли еси, яко уготовася Ми?
Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him?
10 Кто бо есть противляяйся Мне, или кто противостанет Ми и стерпит,
None is so fierce that he dare stir him up: who then is he that can stand before me?
11 аще вся поднебесная Моя есть?
Who hath first given unto me, that I should repay him? [whatsoever is] under the whole heaven is mine.
12 Не умолчу его ради и словом силы помилую равнаго ему.
I will not keep silence concerning his limbs, nor his mighty strength, nor his comely proportion.
13 Кто открыет лице облечения его, в согбение же персей его кто внидет?
Who can strip off his outer garment? who shall come within his double bridle?
14 Двери лица его кто отверзет? Окрест зубов его страх,
Who can open the doors of his face? round about his teeth is terror.
15 утроба его щиты медяны, союз же его якоже смирит камень,
His strong scales are [his] pride, shut up together [as with] a close seal.
16 един ко другому прилипают, дух же не пройдет его:
One is so near to another, that no air can come between them.
17 яко муж брату своему прилепится, содержатся и не отторгнутся.
They are joined one to another; they stick together, that they cannot be sundered.
18 В чхании его возблистает свет: очи же его видение денницы.
His neesings flash forth light, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.
19 Из уст его исходят аки свещы горящыя, и размещутся аки искры огненныя:
Out of his mouth go burning torches, and sparks of fire leap forth.
20 из ноздрей его исходит дым пещи горящия огнем углия:
Out of his nostrils a smoke goeth, as of a seething pot and [burning] rushes.
21 душа же его яко углие, и яко пламы из яст его исходит.
His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth forth from his mouth.
22 На выи же его водворяется сила, пред ним течет пагуба.
In his neck abideth strength, and terror danceth before him.
23 Плоти же телесе его сольпнушася: лиет нань, и не подвижится.
The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm upon him; they cannot be moved.
24 Сердце его ожесте аки камень, стоит же аки наковальня неподвижна.
His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, firm as the nether millstone.
25 Обращшуся же ему, страх зверем четвероногим по земли скачущым.
When he raiseth himself up, the mighty are afraid: by reason of consternation they are beside themselves.
26 Аще срящут его копия, ничтоже сотворят ему, копие вонзено и броня:
If one lay at him with the sword, it cannot avail; nor the spear, the dart, nor the pointed shaft.
27 вменяет бо железо аки плевы, медь же аки древо гнило:
He counteth iron as straw, [and] brass as rotten wood.
28 не уязвит его лук медян, мнит бо каменометную пращу аки сено:
The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble.
29 аки стеблие вменишася ему млатове, ругаетжеся трусу огненосному.
Clubs are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the rushing of the javelin.
30 Ложе его остни острии, всяко же злато морское под ним, якоже брение безчисленно.
His underparts are [like] sharp potsherds: he spreadeth [as it were] a threshing wain upon the mire.
31 Возжизает бездну, якоже пещь медяну: мнит же море яко мироварницу
He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like ointment.
32 и тартар бездны якоже пленника: вменил бездну в прохождение.
He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary.
33 Ничтоже есть на земли подобно ему сотворено, поругано быти Ангелы Моими:
Upon earth there is not his like, that is made without fear.
34 все высокое зрит: сам же царь всем сущым в водах.
He beholdeth every thing that is high: he is king over all the sons of pride.
