Книга Иова 20
1 Отвещав же Софар Минейский, рече:

2 не тако мнех сия тебе рещи противу, и не разумеете паче нежели и аз.

3 Наказание срамления моего услышу, и дух от разума отвещавает ми.

4 Еда сих не уразумел еси от века, отнележе положен человек бысть на земли?

5 Веселие бо нечестивых падение страшно, обрадование же беззаконных пагуба.

6 Аще взыдут на небо дары его, жертва же его облаков коснется:
if to ascend: rise to/for heaven loftiness his and head his to/for cloud to touch
7 егда бо мнится уже утвержден быти, тогда в конец погибнет. Видевшии же его рекут: где есть?

8 Якоже сон отлетевый не обрящется, отлете же аки мечтание нощное.

9 Око призре, и не приложит, и ктому не познает его место его.

10 Сынов его да погубят меншии, и руце его возжгут болезни.

11 Кости его наполнишася грехов юности его и с ним на персти уснут.

12 Аще усладится во устех его злоба, скрыет ю под языком своим:

13 не пощадит ея, и не оставит ея, и соберет ю посреде гортани своего,
to spare upon her and not to leave: release her and to withhold her in/on/with midst palate his
14 и не возможет помощи себе: желчь аспидов во чреве его.

15 Богатство неправедно собираемо изблюется, из храмины его извлечет его Ангел.

16 Ярость же змиеву да ссет, да убиет же его язык змиин.

17 Да не узрит отдоения скотов, ниже прибытка меда и масла кравия.

18 Вотще и всуе трудися, богатство, от негоже не вкусит, якоже клоки не сожваемы и не поглощаемы.

19 Многих бо немощных домы сокруши, жилище же разграби и не постави.

20 Несть спасения имению его, в вожделении своем не спасется.

21 Несть останка брашну его, сего ради не процветут ему благая.

22 Егда же мнит уже исполнь быти, оскорбится, всяка же беда нань приидет.

23 Аще како либо исполнит чрево свое, напустит нань ярость гнева, одождит на него болезни:

24 и не спасется от руки железа, да устрелит его лук медян,

25 и да пройдет сквозе тело его стрела: звезды же в жилищих его: да приидут нань страси,

26 и всяка тма на нем да пребудет: да пояст его огнь нераздеженый, да озлобит же пришлец дом его:

27 и да открыет небо беззакония его, и земля да востанет нань:

28 да извлечет дом его пагуба до конца, день гнева да приидет нань.
