Книга пророка Иеремии 10
1 Слышите слово Господне, еже глагола Господь на вас, доме Израилев.
Hear the word which Jehovah speaks to you, house of Israel.
2 Сия глаголет Господь: по путем языков не учитеся и от знамений небесных не страшитеся, яко их боятся языцы.
Thus says Jehovah, "Do not learn the way of the nations, and do not be dismayed at the signs of the sky; for the nations are dismayed at them.
3 Понеже законы языков суетни суть: древо есть от леса изсеченое, дело тектонское и слияние:
For the customs of the peoples are vanity; for one cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman with the axe.
4 сребром и златом украшена суть, и млатами и гвоздьми утвердиша я, да не движутся:
They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it not move.
5 сребро изваяно есть, не глаголют, носими носятся, понеже ходити не возмогут: не убойтеся их, яко не сотворят зла, и блага несть в них.
They are like a palm tree, of turned work, and do not speak: they must be carried, because they can't go. Do not be afraid of them; for they can't do evil, neither is it in them to do good."
6 Несть подобен Тебе, Господи: велик еси Ты и велико имя Твое в крепости.
"There is none like you, Jehovah; you are great, and your name is great in might.
7 Кто не убоится Тебе, о, Царю языков! Твоя бо честь между всеми премудрыми языков, и во всех царствах их ни един есть подобен Тебе.
Who should not fear you, King of the nations? For it appertains to you; because among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their royal estate, there is none like you.
8 Купно буии и безумнии суть, учение суетных их древо есть:
But they are together brutish and foolish, the instruction of idols. It is but wood.
9 сребро извито от Фарсиса приходит, злато от Офаза, и рука златарей, дела вся художников: в синету и багряницу одеют их, дела умоделников вся сия.
There is silver beaten into plates, which is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the artificer and of the hands of the goldsmith; blue and purple for their clothing; they are all the work of skillful men.
10 Господь же Бог истинен есть, Той Бог живый и Царь вечный, от гнева Его подвигнется земля, и не стерпят языцы прещения Его.
But Jehovah is the true God; he is the living God, and an everlasting King: at his wrath the earth trembles, and the nations are not able to withstand his indignation.
11 Тако рцыте им: бози, иже небесе и земли не сотвориша, да погибнут от земли и от сих, иже под небесем суть.
You shall say this to them: 'The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, these shall perish from the earth, and from under the heavens.'
12 Господь сотворивый землю во крепости Своей, устроивый вселенную в премудрости Своей, и разумом Своим простре небо.
He has made the earth by his power, he has established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding has he stretched out the heavens:
13 Ко гласу Своему дает множество вод на небеси: и возведе облаки от последних земли, блистания в дождь сотвори и изведе ветр от сокровищ Своих.
when he utters his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he causes the vapors to ascend from the farthest parts of the earth; he makes lightnings for the rain, and brings forth the wind out of his treasuries.
14 Буй сотворися всяк человек от ума (своего), постыдеся всяк златоделник во изваяниих своих, яко ложная слия, несть духа в них:
Every man has become brutish and without knowledge; every goldsmith is disappointed by his engraved image; for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
15 суетна суть дела, смеху достойна, во время посещения своего погибнут.
They are vanity, a work of delusion: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.
16 Несть сицевая часть Иакову, яко Создавый вся Той есть, и Израиль жезл достояния Его, Господь Сил имя Ему.
The portion of Jacob is not like these; for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance; Jehovah of hosts is his name."
17 Собра отвне имение, обитающее во избранных,
'Gather up your wares out of the land, you who live under siege.
18 понеже тако глаголет Господь: се, Аз отвергу обитатели земли сея в скорби и смущу их, яко да обрящется язва твоя.
For thus says Jehovah, 'Look, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this time, and will distress them, that they may feel it.'
19 Горе во сокрушении твоем, болезненна язва твоя: аз же рех: воистинну сия болезнь моя (есть) и объят мя, жилище мое опусте, погибе:
Woe is me because of my hurt. My wound is grievous: but I said, 'Truly this is my grief, and I must bear it.'
20 скиния моя опусте, погибе, и вся кожи моя растерзашася: сынов моих и овец моих несть, несть ктому места скинии моей, места кожам моим:
My tent is destroyed, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth from me, and they are no more: there is none to spread my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.
21 понеже обуяша пастырие и Господа не взыскаша, сего ради не уразуме все стадо и расточено бысть.
For the shepherds are become brutish, and have not inquired of Jehovah: therefore they have not prospered, and all their flocks are scattered.
22 Глас слышания, се, грядет и трус велий от земли северныя, да положит грады Иудины в запустение и во обитание змием.
The voice of news, look, it comes, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah a desolation, a dwelling place of jackals.
23 Вем, Господи, яко несть человеку путь его, ниже муж пойдет и исправит шествие свое.
Jehovah, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.
24 Накажи нас, Господи, обаче в суде, а не в ярости, да не умаленых нас сотвориши.
Jehovah, correct me, but in measure: not in your anger, lest you bring me to nothing.
25 Излий гнев Твой на языки не знающыя Тя и на племена, яже имене Твоего не призваша, яко поядоша Иакова и потребиша его и пажить его опустошиша.
Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not know you, and on the families that do not call on your name: for they have devoured Jacob, yes, they have devoured him and consumed him, and have laid waste his habitation."
