1 Бысть же по двою лету дний, фараон виде сон: мняшеся стояти при реце:
And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river.
2 и се, аки из реки исхождаху седмь крав добры видом и избранны телесы, и пасяхуся по брегу:
And, behold, there came up out of the river seven cows, of good appearance and fat in flesh; and they fed in the meadow.
3 другия же седмь крав изыдоша по сих из реки, злы видом и телесы худы, и пасяхуся с кравами по брегу речному:
And, behold, seven other cows came up after them out of the river, ill-favored and lean in flesh; and they stood by the other cows upon the brink of the river.
4 и поядоша седмь кравы злыя и худыя телесы седмь крав добрых видом и избранных телесы: (и сия невидимы быша, яко внидоша в чресла их). Воста же фараон.
And the ill-favored and lean-fleshed cows did eat up the seven well-favored and fat cows. And Pharaoh awoke.
5 И виде сон вторый: и се, седмь класи исхождаху из стеблия единаго избранны и добры:
And he slept and dreamed a second time: and, behold, seven ears of corn came up on one stalk, rank and good.
6 друзии же седмь класи тонцыи, истончени ветром, израстаху по них:
And, behold, seven thin ears and blasted with the east wind sprung up after them.
7 и пожроша седмь класи тонцыи и истончени ветром седмь класов избранных и полных. Воста же фараон, и бяше сон.
And the seven thin ears swallowed up the seven rank and full ears. And Pharaoh awoke, and, behold, it was a dream.
8 Бысть же заутра, и возмутися душа его: и послав, созва вся сказатели Египетския и вся мудрыя его: и поведа им фараон сон свой: и не бяше сказуяй того фараону.
And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream; but there was none that could interpret the same unto Pharaoh.
9 И рече старейшина винарск к фараону, глаголя: грех мой воспоминаю днесь:
Then spoke the chief of the butlers unto Pharaoh, saying, My faults I must call to remembrance this day:
10 фараон разгневася на рабы своя и вверже нас в темницу в дому архимагира, мене и старейшину житарска:
Pharaoh was wroth with his servants, and put me in ward in the house of the captain of the guards, me and the chief of the bakers;
11 и видехом сон оба единыя нощи аз и он, кийждо свой сон видехом:
And we dreamed a dream in one night, I and he; we dreamed each in accordance with the interpretation of his dream.
12 бяше же тамо с нами юноша, отрок Евреин архимагиров, и поведахом ему, и разсуди нам:
And there was with us a Hebrew lad, a servant to the captain of the guards; and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams; to each according to his dream did he interpret.
13 бысть же, якоже сказа нам, тако и случися, мне паки быти во своем старейшинстве, а оному повешену.
And it came to pass, just as he had interpreted to us, so it was; me he restored unto my office, and him he hanged.
14 Послав же фараон, призва Иосифа: и изведоша его из твердыни, и остригоша его, и измениша ризы ему, и прииде к фараону.
Then Pharaoh sent and had Joseph called, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his garments, and came in unto Pharaoh.
15 Рече же фараон Иосифу: сон видех, и сказуяй его несть: аз же слышах о тебе глаголющих, яко слышав сны разсуждаеши тыя.
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it.
16 Отвещав же Иосиф фараону, рече: без Бога не отвещается спасение фараону.
And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me; God will give an answer for the peace of Pharaoh.
17 Рече же фараон Иосифу, глаголя: во сне моем мняхся стояти на брезе речнем:
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, In my dream, behold, I stood upon the brink of the river;
18 и аки из реки исхождаху седмь кравы добры видом и избранны телесы, и пасяхуся по брегу:
And, behold, there came up out of the river seven cows, fat in flesh and good in shape; and they fed in the meadow;
19 и се, другия седмь крав исхождаху вслед их из реки, злы и недобры видом и худы телесы, яковых не виде таковых во всей земли Египетстей хуждших:
And, behold, seven other cows came up after them, poor and very ill-shaped and lean in flesh; I never saw any like these in all the land of Egypt for ugliness;
20 и изядоша седмь кравы злыя и худыя седмь крав первых добрых и избранных:
And the lean and the ill-favored cows did eat up the first seven fat cows;
21 и внидоша во утробы их, и не явишася, яко внидоша во утробы их: и обличия их зла быша, яко и исперва. Востав же, (паки) уснух,
And when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them; but their appearance was still as bad as at the beginning. And I awoke.
22 и видех паки во сне моем, и аки седмь класи исхождаху из единаго стеблия полны и добры:
And I saw in my dream, and, behold, seven ears came up on one stalk, full and good;
23 друзии же седмь класи тонцыи и ветром истончени изницаху вслед их:
And, behold, seven ears, withered, thin, blasted with the east wind, sprung up after them;
24 и пожроша седмь класи тонцыи и ветром истончени седмь класов добрых и полных. Рех убо сказателем, и не бысть поведаяй мне того.
And the thin ears devoured the seven good ears: and I told this unto the magicians; but there was none that could tell it to me.
25 И рече Иосиф фараону: сон фараонов един есть: елика Бог творит, показа фараону:
And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, the dream of Pharaoh is one, that which God is about to do, he hath told to Pharaoh.
26 седмь кравы добрыя седмь лет суть: и седмь класи добрии седмь лет суть: сон фараонов един есть:
The seven good cows are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years; the dream is one.
27 и седмь кравы худыя, яже изыдоша по сих, седмь лет суть, и седмь класи тонцыи и истончени ветром седмь лет суть: будут седмь лет глада:
And the seven thin and ill-favored cows that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears, blasted with the east wind, shall be seven years of famine.
28 слово же еже рех фараону, елика Бог творит, показа фараону:
This is the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to do he hath shown unto Pharaoh.
29 се, седмь лет приходит, обилность многа во всей земли Египетстей:
Behold, there are coming seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt:
30 приидут же седмь лет глада по сих, и забудут сытости будущия во всем Египте, и погубит глад землю,
And there shall arise seven years of famine after them, when all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land;
31 и не познается обилие на земли от глада будущаго по сих: силен бо будет зело:
And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following it; for it shall be very grievous.
32 повторися же сон фараону дважды, яко истинно будет слово еже от Бога, и ускорит Бог сотворити оно:
And as it respecteth that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice, it is because the thing is firmly resolved on by God, and God hasteneth to bring it to pass.
33 ныне убо усмотри человека мудра и смыслена и постави его над землею Египетскою:
Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.
34 и да сотворит фараон и поставит местоначалники по земли, и да собирают пятую часть от всех плодов земли Египетския седми лет обилных,
Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part [of the produce] of the land of Egypt in the seven years of plenty.
35 и да соберут всякую пищу седми лет грядущих добрых сих: и да соберется пшеница под руку фараоню, пища во градех да хранится:
And let them gather up all the food of those good years that are coming, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, as food in the cities, and keep the same.
36 и будет пища соблюдена земли на седмь лет гладных, яже имут быти в земли Египетстей, да не потребится земля в гладе.
And that food shall be for a store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land be not cut off through the famine.
37 Угодно же бысть слово пред фараоном и пред всеми рабы его.
And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.
38 И рече фараон всем рабом своим: еда обрящем человека сицеваго, иже имать Духа Божия в себе?
And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom the spirit of God is?
39 Рече же фараон Иосифу: понеже показа Бог тебе вся сия, несть человека мудрейша и смысленнейша паче тебе:
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Inasmuch as God hath caused thee to know all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou:
40 ты будеши в дому моем, и уст твоих да послушают вси людие мои, разве престолом аз более тебе буду.
Thou shalt be over my house, and according to thy word shall all my people be ruled, only in regard to the throne will I be greater than thou.
41 Рече же фараон Иосифу се, поставляю тя днесь над всею землею Египетскою.
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.
42 И снем фараон перстень с руки своея, возложи его на руку Иосифову, и облече его в ризу червлену, и возложи гривну злату на выю его,
And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a golden chain about his neck;
43 и всади его на колесницу свою вторую, и проповеда пред ним проповедник: и постави его над всею землею Египетскою.
And he caused him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bend the knee: and he placed him [thus] over all the land of Egypt.
44 Рече же фараон Иосифу: аз фараон: без тебе не воздвигнет руки своея никтоже во всей земли Египетстей.
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh; but without thee shall no man lift up his hand or his foot in all the land of Egypt.
45 И нарече фараон имя Иосифу Псонфомфаних: и даде ему Асенефу, дщерь Петефриа жреца Илиопольскаго, ему в жену.
And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaphenath-pa'neach; and he gave him Assenath the daughter of Poti-phera', the priest of On, for wife. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt.
46 Иосиф же бяше лет тридесяти, егда предста фараону царю Египетскому. Изыде же Иосиф от лица фараоня и пройде всю землю Египетскую.
And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh the king of Egypt; and Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.
47 И сотвори земля в седми летех обилну жатву.
And the earth brought forth in the seven years of plenty by handfuls.
48 И собра всякую пищу седми лет, в нихже бяше обилность в земли Египетстей: и положи пищу во градех: пищы поль града, сущих окрест его, положи в нем.
And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field of the city, which was round about it, laid he up in the same.
49 И собра Иосиф пшеницу яко песок морский многу зело, дондеже не можаху исчести: без числа бо бяше.
And Joseph heaped up corn as the sand of the sea, very much; until he left off numbering, for it was without number.
50 Иосифу же беста два сына, прежде пришествия седми лет гладных, ихже роди ему Асенефа, дщерь Петефриа жреца Илиопольска:
And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, whom Assenath the daughter of Poti-phera' the priest of On, bore unto him.
51 нарече же Иосиф имя первенцу Манассиа, (глаголя: ) яко забыти мне сотвори Бог вся болезни моя, и вся, яже отца моего.
And Joseph called the name of the first-born Menasseh: For God [said he] hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house.
52 Имя же второму нарече Ефраим, (глаголя: ) яко возрасти мя Бог в земли смирения моего.
And the name of the second he called Ephraim; For God [said he] hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.
53 Минуша же седмь лет обилных, яже быша в земли Египетстей,
And the seven years of plenty, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended.
54 и начаша седмь лет гладных приходити, якоже рече Иосиф. И бысть глад по всей земли: во всей же земли Египетстей быша хлебы.
And the seven years of famine began to come, just as Joseph had said; and there was famine in all the countries, but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.
55 И взалка вся земля Египетская: возопи же народ к фараону о хлебех. Рече же фараон всем Египтяном: идите ко Иосифу, и еже речет вам, сотворите.
And when all the land of Egypt also felt hunger, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do.
56 И глад бяше на лицы всея земли. Отверзе же Иосиф вся житницы, и продаяше всем Египтяном:
And the famine was over all the face of the earth: and Joseph opened all the store-houses, wherein corn was, and sold unto the Egyptians; for the famine grew strong in the land of Egypt.
57 и вся страны прихождаху во Египет, куповати ко Иосифу: обдержаше бо глад всю землю.
And all the countries came into Egypt to buy corn of Joseph; because the famine was sore in all the countries.
