1 Слыша же Иаков словеса сынов Лавановых, глаголющих: взя Иаков вся яже отца нашего, и от сущих отца нашего сотвори всю славу сию.
And he heard the words of Laban's sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father's, and of that which was our father's hath he gotten all this wealth.
2 И виде Иаков лице Лаване, и се не бяше к нему, яко вчера и третияго дне.
And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before.
3 Рече же Господь ко Иакову: возвратися в землю отца твоего и в род твой, и буду с тобою.
And the Lord said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy birthplace; and I will be with thee.
4 Послав же Иаков, призва Лию и Рахиль на поле, идеже бяху стада,
And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock.
5 и рече им: вижду аз лице отца вашего, яко несть ко мне, якоже вчера и третияго дне: Бог же отца моего бе со мною:
And he said unto them, I see your father's countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me.
6 и вы сами весте, яко всею силою моею работах отцу вашему:
And ye know well that with all my power I have served your father.
7 отец же ваш обиде мя и измени мзду мою десяти агнцев, но не даде ему Бог зла сотворити мне.
And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times: but God suffered him not to do me evil.
8 Аще сице речет: пестрыя, будет твоя мзда: и родятся вся овцы пестрыя. Аще же речет: белыя, будет твоя мзда: и родятся вся овцы белыя.
If he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages: then bore all the flocks speckled: and if he said thus, The ring-streaked shall be thy reward; then bore all the flocks ring-streaked.
9 И отя Бог вся скоты отца вашего и даде я мне.
Thus God took away the cattle of your father, and gave them to me.
10 И бысть егда зачинаху овцы во чреве приемлющя, и видех очима моима во сне: и се, козлы и овны восходяще бяху на овцы и козы, беловатыя и пестрыя и пепеловидныя пестрыя.
And it came to pass at the time that the flocks conceived, that I lifted up my eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the flocks were ring-streaked, speckled, and grizzled.
11 И рече ми Ангел Божий во сне: Иакове. Аз же рех: что есть?
And an angel of God spoke unto me in the dream, Jacob: and I said, Here am I.
12 И рече: воззри очима твоима и виждь козлы и овны восходящыя на овцы и козы, белыя и пестрыя и пепеловидныя пестрыя: видех бо, елика тебе Лаван творит:
And he said, Lift up now thy eyes and see, all the rams which leap upon the flocks are ring-streaked, speckled, and grizzled; for I have seen all that Laban doth unto thee.
13 Аз есмь Бог явивыйся тебе на Месте Божии, идеже помазал Ми еси тамо столп, и обетовал Ми еси тамо обет: ныне убо востани и изыди от земли сея, и иди в землю рождения твоего, и буду с тобою.
I am the God of Beth-el, where thou anointedst a pillar, where thou madest unto me a vow: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy birth.
14 И отвещавши Рахиль и Лиа, рекосте ему: еда есть нам еще часть или наследие в дому отца нашего?
And Rachel and Leah answered and said unto him, Is there yet any portion or inheritance for us in our father's house?
15 Не яко ли чужыя вменихомся ему? Продаде бо нас и снеде снедию сребро наше:
Were we not counted of him as strangers? for he hath sold us; and he hath quite consumed also our money.
16 все богатство и слава, юже отя Бог от отца нашего, нам будет и чадом нашым: ныне убо, елика тебе рече Бог, твори.
For all the riches which God hath taken from our father, that is ours, and our children's; now then, whatsoever God hath said unto thee, do.
17 Востав же Иаков, взя жены своя и дети своя на велблюды,
Then Jacob rose up, and set his sons and his wives upon camels;
18 и забра вся имения своя и вся стяжания, яже притяжа в Месопотамии, и вся своя, еже отити ко Исааку отцу своему в землю Ханаанскую.
And he led away all his cattle, and all his goods which he had gotten, the cattle of his acquiring, which he had gotten in Padan-aram, to go to Isaac his father into the land of Canaan.
19 Лаван же отиде острищи овцы своя: украде же Рахиль идолы отца своего.
And Laban was gone to shear his sheep; and Rachel stole the images that were her father's.
20 Утаи же Иаков от Лавана Сирина, не поведати ему, яко уходит,
And Jacob stole away unawares to Laban the Syrian, by not letting him know that he was going to flee.
21 и отбеже сам, и вся яже его, и прейде реку, и взыде на гору Галаад.
And he fled with all that he had; and he rose up, and passed over the river, and set his face toward the mount Gilead.
22 Поведася же Лавану Сирину в третий день, яко бежа Иаков:
And it was told to Laban on the third day that Jacob was fled.
23 и поим сыны и братию свою с собою, гна вслед его путем седмь дний: и достиже его на горе Галаад.
And he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him a seven days' journey; and he overtook him at the mount of Gilead.
24 Прииде же Бог к Лавану Сирину нощию во сне и рече ему: блюди себе, да не когда возглаголеши ко Иакову зла.
And God came to Laban, the Syrian, in a dream of the night, and said unto him, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
25 И постиже Лаван Иакова: Иаков же постави кущу свою на горе: Лаван же разстави братию свою на горе Галаад.
Then Laban overtook Jacob; now Jacob had pitched his tent on the mount, and Laban with his brethren pitched on the mount of Gilead.
26 Рече же Лаван Иакову: что сотворил еси? Вскую тайно ушел еси и окрал еси мя, и отвел дщери моя, яко пленницы оружием?
And Laban said to Jacob, What hast thou done, that thou hast stolen away unawares to me, and led away my daughters, as captives taken with the sword.
27 И аще бы ми поведал еси, отпустил бых тя с веселием и с мусикиею, и тимпаны и гусльми:
Wherefore didst thou flee away secretly, and steal away from me; and why didst thou not tell me, that I might have sent thee away with mirth, and with songs, with tabret, and with harp?
28 и не сподобихся целовати детей моих и дщерей моих: ныне же несмысленно сотворил еси:
And [why] hast thou not suffered me to kiss my sons and my daughters? now thou hast acted foolishly in so doing.
29 и ныне рука моя может озлобити тя. Но Бог отца твоего вчера рече ко мне, глаголя: блюди себе, да не когда возглаголеши ко Иакову зла.
It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt; but the God of your father spoke unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
30 Ныне убо отшел еси: желанием бо возжелал еси отити в дом отца твоего: вскую украл еси боги моя?
And now, thou wouldst needs be gone, because thou greatly longedst after thy father's house; [yet] wherefore hast thou stolen my gods.
31 Отвещав же Иаков рече к Лавану: понеже убояхся: рех бо, да не како отимеши дщери твоя от мене, и вся моя.
And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid, for I said, Peradventure thou wouldst take by force thy daughters from me.
32 И рече Иаков: у негоже аще обрящеши боги твоя, да не будет жив пред братиею нашею: узнавай, что есть твоего у мене, и возми. И не позна у него ничтоже: не ведяше же Иаков, яко Рахиль жена его украде я.
With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live; before our brethren seek out thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee; but Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.
33 Вшед же Лаван, оыска в кущи Лиине, и не обрете. И изыде из кущи Лиины, и оыска кущу Иаковлю и в кущи двоих рабынь, и не обрете. Вниде же и в кущу Рахилину.
And Laban went into the tent of Jacob, and into the tent of Leah, and into the tent of the two maid-servants; but he found nothing; he then went out of the tent of Leah, and entered into Rachel's tent.
34 Рахиль же взя идолы и положи оныя под седло велблюже и седе на них,
Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the saddle-cushion of the camel, and sat upon them; and Laban searched all the tent, and found nothing.
35 и рече отцу своему: не имей себе тяжко, господине: не могу востати пред тобою, яко обычная женская ми суть. Иска же Лаван по всей кущи, и не обрете идолов.
And she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before thee; for the custom of women is upon me; and thus he searched, but found not the images.
36 Разгневася же Иаков и пряшеся с Лаваном. Отвещав же Иаков рече Лавану: кая неправда моя? И кий грех мой, яко погнал еси вслед мене,
Now Jacob became wroth, and quarrelled with Laban; and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my trespass? what is my sin, that thou hast so hotly pursued after me?
37 и яко оыскал еси вся сосуды дому моего? Что обрел еси от всех сосудов дому твоего? Положи зде пред братиею твоею и братиею моею, и да разсудят между обема нама:
Although thou hast searched all my goods, what hast thou found of all the articles of thy household? set it here before my brethren and thy brethren, that they may judge between us both.
38 се, двадесять лет аз есмь с тобою: овцы твоя и козы твоя не быша без плода: овнов овец твоих не поядох:
These twenty years have I been with thee: thy ewes and thy she-goats have not cast their young; and the rams of thy flock have I not eaten.
39 звероядины не принесох к тебе: аз воздаях тебе от мене самаго татбины денныя и татбины нощныя:
That which was torn of beasts I brought not unto thee; I had to bear the loss of it, of my hand didst thou require it, whatever was stolen by day, or stolen by night.
40 бых во дни жегомь зноем, и студению в нощи, и отхождаше сон от очию моею:
[Where] I was in the day the heat consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep departed from my eyes.
41 се, мне двадесять лет аз есмь в дому твоем, работах тебе четыренадесять лет двух ради дщерей твоих и шесть лет за овцы твоя, и преобидел еси мзду мою десятию агницами:
These twenty years have I been in thy house; I have served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy flocks: and thou hast changed my wages ten times.
42 аще не бы Бог отца моего Авраама, и страх Исаака был мне, ныне тща отпустил бы мя еси: смирение мое и труд руку моею увиде Бог, и обличи тя вчера.
Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the Fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst now sent me away empty; my affliction and the labor of my hands God hath seen, and decided yesternight.
43 Отвещав же Лаван, рече ко Иакову: дщери дщери моя и сынове сынове мои, и скоти скоти мои, и вся елика ты видиши моя суть и дщерей моих: что сотворю им днесь, или чадом их, яже родиста?
And Laban answered and said unto Jacob, The daughters are my daughters, and the children are my children, and the flocks are my flocks, and all that thou seest is mine; but as to my daughters, what can I do unto them this day, or unto their children whom they have born?
44 Ныне убо гряди, завещаим завет аз и ты: и будет во свидетелство между мною и тобою. Рече же ему Иаков: се, никтоже с нами есть: виждь, Бог свидетель между мною и тобою.
And now, come thou, let us make a covenant, I and thou; and let it be for a witness between me and thee.
45 И взем Иаков камень, постави его в столп.
And Jacob took a stone, and set it up for a pillar.
46 Рече же Иаков братии своей: соберите камение. И собраша камение и сотвориша холм: и ядоша, и пиша тамо на холме. Рече же ему Лаван: холм сей свидетелствует между мною и тобою днесь.
And Jacob said unto his brethren, Gather stones; and they took stones, and made a heap; and they ate there upon the heap.
47 И прозва его Лаван холм Свидетелства: Иаков же прозва холм Свидетель.
And Laban called it Yegar-sahadutha; but Jacob called it Galed.
48 Рече же Лаван ко Иакову: се, холм сей и столп, егоже поставих между мною и тобою, свидетелствует холм сей и свидетелствует столп сей: сего ради прозвася имя холм Свидетелствует,
And Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and thee this day; therefore called he its name Galed;
49 и Видение, еже рече: да видит Бог между мною и тобою, яко отидем друг от друга:
And Mitzpah; for he said, The Lord shall watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from the other;
50 аще смириши дщери моя, аще поймеши жены над дщери моя виждь, никтоже с нами есть видяй: Бог свидетель между мною и между тобою.
If thou shouldst afflict my daughters, or if thou shouldst take other wives besides my daughters, when there is no man with us: see, God is witness between me and thee.
51 И рече Лаван Иакову: се, холм сей свидетель и столп сей:
And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have cast up between me and thee;
52 аще бо аз не прейду к тебе, ниже ты да прейдеши ко мне холма сего и столпа сего со злобою:
Witness be this heap and witness be this pillar, that I will not pass by this heap, and that thou shalt not pass unto me by this heap and this pillar, for evil.
53 Бог Авраамль и Бог Нахоров да судит между нама. И кляся Иаков страхом отца своего Исаака,
The God of Abraham and the God of Nachor shall judge between us, the God of their father; but Jacob swore by the Fear of his father Isaac.
54 и пожре Иаков жертву на горе и воззва братию свою: ядоша же и пиша и спаша на горе.
Then Jacob slew some cattle upon the mount, and called his brethren to eat bread; and they did eat bread, and tarried all night on the mount.
55 Востав же Лаван заутра, лобыза сыны и дщери своя и благослови я: и возвратився Лаван, отиде на место свое.
And early in the morning Laban rose up, and kissed his sons and his daughters and blessed them; and Laban departed, and returned unto his own place.
