Второзаконие 25

1 Аще же будет пря между человеки, и приидут на суд, и да судят, и оправдят праваго, и осудят нечестиваго:

If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.

2 и будет, аще достоин есть ран нечестивый, да поставиши его пред судиями, и да биют его пред ними по нечестию его:

And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number.

3 и числом четыредесять ран да наложат ему, и да не приложат к сему: аще же приложат паче ран сих бити его множае, срам будет брату твоему пред тобою.

Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then your brother should seem vile unto you.

4 Да не обротиши вола молотяща.

You shall not suppress the ox when he treads out the corn.

5 Аше же живут братия вкупе, и умрет един от них, семене же не будет ему, да не будет жена умершаго иному мужу несродну: брат мужа ея да внидет к ней и поймет ю себе в жену, и да поживет с нею:

If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her.

6 и будет очроча, еже аще родится, да поставится во имя умершаго, и не погибнет имя его от Израиля.

And it shall be, that the firstborn which she bears shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.

7 Аще же не восхощет человек пояти жены брата своего, да приидет жена ко вратом пред старейшины и речет: не хощет брат мужа моего возставити имя брата своего во Израили, не восхоте брат мужа моего:

And if the man like not to take his brother's wife, then let his brother's wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuses to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband's brother.

8 и да призовут его старейшины града того и рекут ему, и став речет: не хощу пояти ю:

Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak unto him: and if he stand to it, and say, I like not to take her;

9 и приступивши жена брата его к нему пред старейшины, и изует сапог его един от ноги его, и да плюнет на лице его, и отвещавши речет: сице да сотворят человеку, иже не созиждет дому брата своего во Израили:

Then shall his brother's wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother's house.

10 и прозовется имя его во Израили дом изутаго из сапога.

And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that has his shoe loosed.

11 Аще же биются человека два вкупе, человек с братом своим, и приступит жена единаго от них отяти мужа своего от руки биющаго и, и простерши руку свою, имет за ятра его,

When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draws near in order to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that strikes him, and puts forth her hand, and takes him by the secrets:

12 да отсечеши руку ея: да не пощадит око твое ея.

Then you shall cut off her hand, your eye shall not pity her.

13 Да не будет во влагалищи твоем мерило и мерило, великое и малое,

You shall not have in your bag divers weights, a great and a small.

14 да не будет в дому твоем мера и мера, велика и мала:

You shall not have in your house divers measures, a great and a small.

15 мерило истинно и праведно да будет тебе, и мера истинна и праведна да будет тебе, да многи дни будеши на земли, юже Господь Бог твой дает тебе в жребий,

But you shall have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shall you have: that your days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD your God gives you.

16 яко мерзость Господеви Богу твоему всяк творяй сия, всяк творяй неправду.

For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD your God.

17 Помяни, елика тебе сотвори Амалик на пути, исходящу тебе из Египта:

Remember what Amalek did unto you by the way, when all of you were come forth out of Egypt;

18 како сопротивоста тебе на пути и посече задний полк твой утружден за тобою: ты же алчен был еси и утружден: и не убояся Бога:

How he met you by the way, and stroke the hindmost of you, even all that were feeble behind you, when you were faint and weary; and he feared not God.

19 и будет егда упокоит тя Господь Бог твой от всех враг твоих, иже окрест тебе на земли, юже Господь Бог твой дает тебе в жребий, еже наследити ю, да погубиши имя Амаликово от земли, яже под небесем, и да не забудеши.

Therefore it shall be, when the LORD your God has given you rest from all of your enemies round about, in the land which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance to possess it, that you shall blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; you shall not forget it.
