1 И бысть егда устроися царство Ровоамово, и укрепися, остави заповеди Господни, и весь Израиль с ним.
It happened, when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established, and he was strong, that he forsook the law of Jehovah, and all Israel with him.
2 И бысть в лето пятое царства Ровоамля взыде Сусаким царь Египетский на Иерусалим, зане согрешиша пред Господем,
It happened in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had trespassed against Jehovah,
3 с тысящию и двема сты колесниц и шестьдесят тысящ конник, и не бе числа народу пришедшему с ним от Египта, Ливиане, Троглодитяне и Ефиопляне:
with twelve hundred chariots, and sixty thousand horsemen. The people were without number who came with him out of Egypt: the Lubim, the Sukkiim, and the Ethiopians.
4 и взяша грады крепкия, иже бяху во Иуде, и приидоша даже до Иерусалима.
He took the fortified cities which pertained to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.
5 Самеа же пророк вниде к Ровоаму и к началником Иудиным, иже собрани бяху во Иерусалим от лица Сусакимова, и рече к ним: сия рече Господь: вы остависте Мя, и Аз оставлю вас в руку Сусакима.
And Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam, and to the leaders of Judah, who were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, "Thus says Jehovah, 'You have forsaken me, therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.'"
6 И посрамишася началницы Израилевы и царь и рекоша: праведен Господь.
Then the leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, "Jehovah is righteous."
7 Егда же виде Господь, яко смиришася, и бысть слово Господне к Самею, глаголя: смиришася, не разорю их, и дам им вмале спасение, и не уканет ярость Моя на Иерусалим,
When Jehovah saw that they humbled themselves, the word of Jehovah came to Shemaiah, saying, "They have humbled themselves. I will not destroy them; but I will grant them some deliverance, and my wrath shall not be poured out on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.
8 обаче будут в рабы, да познают работу Мою и работу царства земли.
Nevertheless they shall be his servants, that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries."
9 И взыде Сусаким царь Египетский во Иерусалим, и взя сокровища, яже в дому Господни, и сокровища, яже в дому цареве, вся взя: и взя щиты златыя, ихже сотвори Соломон.
So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the king's house. He took it all away. He also took away the shields of gold which Solomon had made.
10 И сотвори царь Ровоам щиты медяны вместо их. И постави на ним Сусаким царь Египетский началников предходящих стрегущих врата царева:
King Rehoboam made in their place shields of bronze, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard, who kept the door of the king's house.
11 и бысть внегда входити царю в дом Господень, вхождаху стрегущии и предходящии, и обращающеся восхождаху предходящии ко оружехранителнице своей.
It was so, that as often as the king entered into the house of Jehovah, the guard came and bore them, and brought them back into the guard room.
12 И егда смирися той, отвратися от него ярость Господня, а не в разорение в конец: ибо и во Иуде бяху словеса блага.
When he humbled himself, the wrath of Jehovah turned from him, so as not to destroy him altogether: and moreover in Judah there were good things found.
13 И укрепися царь Ровоам во Иерусалиме и царствова: четыредесяти же и единаго лета бысть Ровоам, егда царствовати нача, и седмьнадесять лет царствова во Иерусалиме, во граде, егоже избра Господь, да именуется имя Его ту от всех колен Израилевых. Имя же матери его Ноома Амманитыня.
So king Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned: for Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which Jehovah had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there: and his mother's name was Naamah the Ammonitess.
14 И сотвори лукавое, яко не исправи сердца своего, да взыщет Господа.
He did that which was evil, because he did not set his heart to seek Jehovah.
15 Словеса же Ровоамова первая и последняя не се ли, суть писана в словесех Самеа пророка и Адда провидящаго, и деяния его? И воеваше Ровоам и Иеровоам во вся дни.
Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, aren't they written in the histories of Shemaiah the prophet and of Iddo the seer, after the way of genealogies? There were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.
16 И умре Ровоам и погребен бысть со отцы своими во граде Давидове. И воцарися Авиа сын его вместо его.
And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers, and he was buried in the City of David. And Abijah his son reigned in his place.
