1 Ko zvino muJudha ane pundutso yei, kana rubatsiro rwekudzingiswa nderwupi?
What, then, is the advantage of being a Jew? Or what is the value of circumcision?
2 Zvizhinji nemutoo wese; nokuti pakutanga kuti vakabatiswa mashoko aMwari.
Much in every way. First of all, they have been entrusted with the very words of God.
3 Nokuti ko kana vamwe vasina kutenda? Kusatenda kwavo kuchashayisa kutendeka kwaMwari maturo here?
What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God’s faithfulness?
4 Ngazvisadaro! Asi Mwari ngaave wechokwadi, asi munhu wese murevi wenhema, sezvazvakanyorwa zvichinzi: Kuti munzi makarurama pamashoko enyu, uye mukunde pakutongwa kwenyu.
Certainly not! Let God be true and every man a liar. As it is written: “So that You may be proved right when You speak and victorious when You judge.”
5 Asi kana kusarurama kwedu kuchiratidza kururama kwaMwari, tichati chii? Kuti Mwari haana kururama here anodurura hasha? (Ndinotaura semunhu.)
But if our unrighteousness highlights the righteousness of God, what shall we say? That God is unjust to inflict His wrath on us? I am speaking in human terms.
6 Ngazvisadaro! Kana zvakadaro Mwari angagozotonga nyika sei?
Certainly not! In that case, how could God judge the world?
7 Nokuti kana chokwadi chaMwari chakawanzwa nenhema dzangu parumbidzo yake, ini ndichiri kutongerweiwo semutadzi?
However, if my falsehood accentuates God’s truthfulness, to the increase of His glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?
8 Uye zvikasadaro tichapomerwa zvakaipa, uye sezvinotaura vamwe kuti tinoti: Ngatiite zvakaipa kuti zvakanaka zviuye? Kuraswa kwavo kunova kwakarurama.
Why not say, as some slanderously claim that we say, “Let us do evil that good may result”? Their condemnation is deserved!
9 Ko zvino? Tiri nani here? Kwete nepadiki pese; nokuti tambopa mhosva vese VaJudha neVaGiriki kuti vese vari pasi pechivi,
What then? Are we any better? Not at all. For we have already made the charge that Jews and Greeks alike are all under sin.
10 sezvazvakanyorwa zvichinzi: Hakuna wakarurama, kwete kunyange neumwe;
As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one.
11 hakuna anonzwisisa, hakuna anotsvaka Mwari;
There is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.
12 vese vakatsauka, vakava pamwe vasina maturo; hakuna anoita zvakanaka, hakuna kunyange neumwe;
All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”
13 huro yavo iguva rakashama; nendimi dzavo vakanyengera; uturu hwemhungu huri pasi pemiromo yavo;
“Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit.” “The venom of vipers is on their lips.”
14 vemuromo wavo uzere nekutuka nekuvava;
“Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”
15 tsoka dzavo dzinokurumidza kuteura ropa;
“Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16 kuparadza nekutambudzika zviri munzira dzavo,
ruin and misery lie in their wake,
17 uye nzira yerugare havana kuiziva;
and the way of peace they have not known.”
18 kutya Mwari hakupo pamberi pemeso avo.
“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
19 Zvino tinoziva kuti zvese murairo zvaunoreva, unozvireva kune vari pasi pemurairo; kuti muromo umwe neumwe udzivirwe, nenyika yese ive nemhosva kuna Mwari;
Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.
20 naizvozvo nemabasa emurairo hakuna nyama ichanzi yakarurama pamberi pake; nokuti nemurairo kune ruzivo rwechivi.
Therefore no one will be justified in His sight by works of the law. For the law merely brings awareness of sin.
21 Asi ikozvino kururama kwaMwari kwakaratidzwa kunze kwemurairo, kuchipupurwa nemurairo nevaporofita;
But now, apart from the law, the righteousness of God has been revealed, as attested by the Law and the Prophets.
22 ikowo kururama kwaMwari kubudikidza nerutendo rwaJesu Kristu kune vese nepamusoro pevese vanotenda; nokuti hapana musiyano;
And this righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no distinction,
23 nokuti vese vakatadza vakataira pakubwinya kwaMwari,
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
24 vachinzi vakarurama pachena nenyasha dzake kubudikidza nerudzikunuro rwuri muna Kristu Jesu;
and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
25 iye Mwari waakagadza kuva muripo wekuyananisa, nerutendo muropa rake, kuva chiratidzo chekururama kwake, nekusarangarira zvivi zvakaitwa kare mukuva nemoyo murefu kwaMwari;
God presented Him as the atoning sacrifice through faith in His blood, in order to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance He had passed over the sins committed beforehand.
26 kuti chive chiratidzo chekururama kwake panguva yaikozvino, kuti ave wakarurama uye kururamisa werutendo rwaJesu.
He did this to demonstrate His righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and to justify the one who has faith in Jesus.
27 Naizvozvo kuzvikudza kuripi? Kwavharirwa kunze. Nemurairo upi? Wemabasa here? Kwete, asi nemurairo werutendo.
Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of works? No, but on that of faith.
28 Naizvozvo tinogura kuti munhu anonzi wakarurama nerutendo, kunze kwemabasa emurairo.
For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the law.
29 Kuti ndiMwari weVaJudha vega here? Haasi wevahedheniwo here? Hongu wevahedheniwo;
Is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too,
30 Mwari zvaari zvirokwazvo mumwe, achati kudzingiswa kwakarurama kubva parutendo, nevasina kudzingiswa nerutendo.
since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith.
31 Naizvozvo tinoshayisa maturo murairo nerutendo here? Ngazvisadaro! Asi tinosimbisa murairo.
Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Certainly not! Instead, we uphold the law.
