1 Petro 4

1 Naizvozvo Kristu zvaakatitamburira panyama, nemwi muzvishongedze nemurangariro wakadaro; nokuti iye watambudzika panyama, aregedzwa pachivi;

Christ, then, having suffered for us in the flesh, you also arm yourselves with the same mind, because he who suffered in the flesh has finished [with] sin,

2 kuti nguva yasara panyama musachiraramira kuchiva kwevanhu, asi chido chaMwari.

no longer in the desires of men, but in the will of God, to live the rest of the time in the flesh;

3 Nokuti yakatiringana nguva yakapfuura yeupenyu kuita chido chevahedheni, patakafamba mukusazvibata, kuchiva, kuraradza, makaro, nemitambo yekunwa, nekunamata zvifananidzo zvisingatenderwi;

for the time has sufficiently passed to have carried out the will of the nations, having walked in licentiousness, lusts, excesses of wines, revelings, drinking-bouts, and unlawful idolatries,

4 zvavanoshamisika mazviri, kuti hamumhanyidzani navo pakuwandisa kumwe kwenyonga-nyonga, vachikutukai;

in which they think it strange—your not running with them to the same excess of wastefulness, slandering [you]—

5 vachazvidavirira kuna iye wakagadzirira kutonga vapenyu nevakafa.

who will give an account to Him who is ready to judge [the] living and [the] dead,

6 Nokuti nekuda kwaizvozvi evhangeri yakaparidzirwa kune vakafawo, kuti vatongwe zvinoenderana nevanhu panyama, asi vararame zvinoenderana naMwari pamweya.

for this also was good news proclaimed to dead men, that they may be judged, indeed, according to men in the flesh, but may live according to God in the Spirit.

7 Zvino kuguma kwezvinhu zvese kwaswedera; naizvozvo svinurai murinde muminyengetero.

Now the end of all things has come near; be sober-minded, then, and be sober in [your] prayers.

8 Uye mberi kwezvinhu zvese ivai nerudo rwunopfuta pakati penyu, nokuti rudo ruchafukidzira zvivi zvizhinji-zhinji.

Before all things, having earnest love among yourselves, because love covers a multitude of sins;

9 Gamuchiranai, pasina kunyunyuta.

[be] hospitable to one another, without murmuring;

10 Umwe neumwe sezvaakagamuchira chipo, shumiranai ichocho sevatariri vakanaka venyasha dzakasiyana-siyana dzaMwari.

each [one], according as he received a gift, ministering it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God;

11 Kana umwe achitaura, ngaataure semashoko aMwari; kana umwe achishumira ngazviitwe sezvinobva kusimba Mwari raanopa; kuti Mwari akudzwe pazvinhu zvese kubudikidza naJesu Kristu, kwaari kune kukudzwa nesimba kusvikira rinhi narinhi. Ameni. (aiōn g165)

if anyone speaks, [speak] as oracles of God; if anyone ministers, [minister] as of the strength which God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory and the power through the ages of the ages. Amen. (aiōn g165)

12 Vadiwa, musashamisika nemuedzo unopisa uri pamuri unokuidzai, sezvinonzi mawirwa nechisingazikanwi;

Beloved, do not think it strange at the fiery suffering among you that is coming to try you, as if a strange thing were happening to you,

13 asi sezvamuri vagovani vematambudziko aKristu, farai, kuti nepakuratidzwa kwekubwinya kwake mufare nemufaro mukurusa.

but according as you have fellowship with the sufferings of the Christ, rejoice, that you may also rejoice in the revelation of His glory—exulting;

14 Kana muchitukwa nekuda kwezita raKristu, makaropafadzwa; nokuti Mweya wekubwinya newaMwari agere pamusoro penyu; kwavari zvirokwazvo anonyombwa, asi kwamuri anokudzwa.

if you are reproached in the Name of Christ—[you are] blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you; in regard, indeed, to them, is evil spoken of Him, and in regard to you, He is glorified;

15 Asi kusava neumwe wenyu anotambudzika semhondi, kana mbavha, kana muiti wezvakaipa, kana anongongwarira zvevamwe;

for let none of you suffer as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or as a meddler into other men’s matters;

16 asi kana achitambudzika semuKristu, asanyara; asi ngaakudze Mwari pachinhu ichi.

and if as a Christian, do not let him be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this respect;

17 Nokuti yava nguva yekuti kutonga kutange paimba yaMwari; zvino kana kukatanga kwatiri, kuguma kwevasingateereri evhangeri yaMwari kuchavei?

because it is the time of the judgment to have begun from the house of God, and if first from us, what [is] the end of those disobedient to the good news of God?

18 Uye kana wakarurama achiponeswa nemutsutsururu, asingadi Mwari nemutadzi vachaonekwepi?

And if the righteous man is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and sinner appear?

19 Naizvozvo naivo vanotambudzika zvinoenderana nechido chaMwari, sekuMusiki wakatendeka ngavakumikidze mweya yavo pakuita zvakanaka.

So that those also suffering according to the will of God, as to a steadfast Creator, let them commit their own souls in doing good.
