1 Vana vangu vadiki, zvinhu izvi ndinokunyorerai, kuti musatadza. Uye kana umwe achitadza, tine Murevereri kuna Baba, Jesu Kristu wakarurama;
My little children, I write these things unto you, that ye may not sin. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
2 uye iye muripo wekuyananisa wezvivi zvedu; kwete wezvedu chetewo, asiwo wezvenyika yese.
And He is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 Uye mune izvi tinoziva kuti tinomuziva, kana tichichengeta mirairo yake.
And by this we know that we have known Him, if we keep his commandments.
4 Uyo anoti: Ndinomuziva, asi asingachengeti mirairo yake, murevi wenhema, nemaari chokwadi hachimo;
He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 asi ani nani anochengeta shoko rake, zvirokwazvo rudo rwaMwari rwakaperedzerwa maari. Naizvozvi tinoziva kuti tiri maari.
But whosoever keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: and by this we know that we are in Him.
6 Uyo anoti anogara maari iye anofanirawo kufamba saizvozvo sezvaakafamba iyewo.
He that saith, he abideth in Him, ought himself also so to walk even as He walked.
7 Hama, handinyori murairo mutsva kwamuri, asi murairo mutsaru, wamakange munawo kubva pakutanga; murairo mutsaru ishoko ramakanzwa kubva pakutanga.
Brethren, I write not a new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning: the old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning:
8 Ndinopamha kukunyorerai murairo mutsva, chiri chinhu chechokwadi maari nemamuri; nokuti rima rinopfuura, zvino chiedza chechokwadi chadovhenekera.
though I write it again as a new commandment, which is truth in Him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.
9 Uyo anoti ari muchiedza, achivengawo hama yake, ari murima kusvikira zvino.
Now he that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is still in darkness:
10 Uyo anoda hama yake anogara muchiedza, uye hapana chigumbuso maari.
whereas, he that loveth his brother, abideth in the light, and is in no danger of stumbling.
11 Asi uyo anovenga hama yake ari murima, uye anofamba murima, haaziviwo kwaanoenda, nokuti rima rakapofumadza meso ake.
But he, that hateth his brother, is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not where he goeth, because the darkness hath blinded his eyes.
12 Ndinonyorera imwi, vana vadiki, nokuti zvivi makazvikanganwirwa nekuda kwezita rake.
I write unto you, little children, because for his sake your sins are forgiven you:
13 Ndinonyorera imwi, madzibaba, nokuti makamuziva uripo kubva pakutanga. Ndinonyorera imwi, vadiki, nokuti makakunda wakaipa. Ndinonyorera imwi, vanana, nokuti makaziva Baba.
I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known Him that is from the beginning: and I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. Yea I have written to you, little children, because ye have known the Father:
14 Ndanyorera imwi, madzibaba, nokuti makamuziva iye wakange aripo kubva pakutanga. Ndanyora kwamuri, vadiki, nokuti makasimba, uye shoko raMwari rinogara mamuri uye makakunda wakaipa.
I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known Him that is from the beginning: and I have written to you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one---
15 Musada nyika, kana zvinhu zviri munyika. Kana umwe achida nyika, rudo rwaBaba harwusi maari.
Love not the world, nor the things that are in the world; for if any one love the world to excess, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 Nokuti zvese zviri munyika, kuchiva kwenyama, nekuchiva kwameso, nekuzvikudza kweupenyu, hazvibvi kuna Baba, asi zvinobva panyika.
For all that is in the world, the desire of the flesh, and the desire of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but of the world.
17 Uye nyika inopfuura, nekuchiva kwayo; asi anoita kuda kwaMwari anogara kusvika rinhi narinhi. (aiōn g165)
And the world passeth away, and the desire of it: but he, that doth the will of God, abideth for ever. (aiōn g165)
18 Vana vadiki, inguva yekupedzisira; uye sezvamakanzwa kuti mupikisi waKristu anouya, naikozvino vazhinji vava vapikisi vaKristu; ndizvo zvinotizivisa kuti yava nguva yekupedzisira.
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that an antichrist will come, there are even now many antichrists, whereby we know that it is the last time.
19 Vakabuda kwatiri, asi vakange vasiri vanobva kwedu, nokuti dai vaibva kwedu, vangadai vaigara nesu; asi vakabuda kuti varatidzwe kuti havasi vese vanobva kwedu.
They went out from us, but they were not of us: for if they had been indeed of us, they would have continued with us; but this was done that they might be made manifest, because all, that are with us, are not indeed of us.
20 Asi imwi mune kuzodzwa kunobva kune Mutsvene, uye munoziva zvinhu zvese.
And ye have an unction from the holy One, and know all.
21 Handina kukunyorerai nokuti hamuzivi chokwadi, asi nokuti munochiziva, uye nokuti hakutongorina nhema dzingabva pachokwadi.
I have not therefore written to you, because ye know not the truth; but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
22 Ndiani murevi wenhema, kunze kwaiye anoramba kuti Jesu ndiKristu? Iye mupikisi waKristu, anoramba Baba neMwanakomana.
Who is a liar, if not he who denieth that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, that denieth the Father as well as the Son;
23 Ani nani anoramba Mwanakomana haanawo Baba; anobvuma Mwanakomana ana Babawo.
for whosoever denieth the Son, hath not the Father: but he that confesseth the Son acknowledgeth the Father also.
24 Zvino imwi zvamakanzwa kubva pakutanga ngazvigare mamuri. Kana zvamakanzwa kubva pakutanga zvichigara mamuri, imwiwo muchagara muMwanakomana nemuna Baba.
Let that therefore, which ye have heard from the beginning, abide in you: for if that, which ye heard from the beginning, remain in you, ye also will remain in the Son and in the Father.
And this is the promise which He hath promised us, even eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
26 Zvinhu izvi ndakakunyorerai pamusoro pevanokutsausai.
These things have I written unto you concerning those who would seduce you.
27 Asi imwi kuzodzwa kwamakagamuchira kwaari kunogara mamuri, uye hamutsvaki kuti umwe akudzidzisei; asi kuzodzwa ikoku sezvakunokudzidzisai pamusoro pezvinhu zvese, uye kuri chokwadi, dzisati dziri nhema, uye sezvakwakakudzidzisai, muchagara maari.
But the unction, which ye have received from Him, abideth in you; and therefore ye have no need that any should teach you: since this very unction teacheth you concerning all things, and is truth and not falshood; even as that hath taught you, abide in Him.
28 Uye ikozvino, vana vadiki, garai maari, kuti kana achizoonekwa, tive nechivimbo, tiregewo kunyadziswa naye pakuuya kwake.
And now, little children, abide, I say, in Him; that, when He shall appear, we may have confidence, and may not be ashamed before Him at his coming.
29 Kana muchiziva kuti wakarurama, munoziva kuti umwe neumwe anoita zvakarurama wakaberekwa naye.
If ye know that He is righteous, ye know that every one, who practiseth righteousness, is born of Him.
