< Mapisarema 105 >
1 Vongai Jehovha, danai kuzita rake; zivisai zvaakaita pakati pendudzi.
Give ye thanks to Yahweh, Call upon his Name, Make known, among the peoples, his doings;
2 Muimbirei, muimbirei nziyo dzokurumbidza; rondedzerai mabasa ake ose anoshamisa.
Sing ye to him, Make ye music to him, Speak ye of all his wonders.
3 Ngarikudzwe zita rake dzvene; mwoyo yavanotsvaka Jehovha ngaifare.
Make your boast in his holy Name, Joyful be the heart of them who are seeking Yahweh.
4 Tarirai kuna Jehovha nokusimba rake; tsvakai chiso chake nguva dzose.
Search out Yahweh and his strength, Seek diligently his face at all times.
5 Rangarirai zvishamiso zvaakaita, mabasa ake, nezvaakatonga zvaakareva,
Remember his wonders which he hath done, His portents, and the just decisions of his mouth.
6 imi vana vaAbhurahama muranda wake, haiwa vanakomana vaJakobho, vasanangurwa vake.
O ye Seed of Abraham—his servants, Sons of Jacob—his chosen ones:
7 Ndiye Jehovha Mwari wedu; kutonga kwake kuri munyika yose.
Yahweh himself, is our God, Through all the land, are his just decision.
8 Anorangarira sungano yake nokusingaperi, iro shoko raakarayira, kuchiuru chezvizvarwa,
He hath remembered, unto times age-abiding, his covenant, The word he commanded, to a thousand generations;
9 sungano yaakaita naAbhurahama, mhiko yaakapika kuna Isaka.
Which he solemnised with Abraham, and his oath, to Isaac;
10 Akaisimbisa kuna Jakobho somutemo, nokuna Israeri sesungano isingaperi achiti,
And confirmed it unto Jacob for a statute, To Israel, as a covenant age-abiding;
11 “Ndichapa nyika yeKenani kwauri somugove wenhaka yako.”
Saying, To thee, will I give the land of Canaan, As your inherited portion;
12 Pavaiva vashoma pakuwanda, zvirokwazvo vari vashoma, uye vari vaeni mairi,
While as yet they were men easily counted, —A very few, and sojourners therein;
13 vakadzungaira vachibva kuno rumwe rudzi kusvikira kuno rumwe rudzi. Kubva kuno humwe ushe vachienda kuno humwe.
And they wandered from nation to nation, From a kingdom, to another people.
14 Haana kutendera munhu kuvadzvinyirira; akatuka madzimambo nokuda kwavo achiti,
He suffered no son of earth to oppress them, And reproved—for their sakes—[even] kings!
15 “Musabata vazodziwa vangu; musaitira vaprofita vangu zvakaipa.”
Ye may not touch mine Anointed ones, And, to my Prophets, may ye do no wrong.
16 Akadana nzara panyika ikaparadza zvose zvaiuyisa zvokudya;
Then called he a famine over the land, All the staff of bread, he brake;
17 uye akatuma munhu pamberi pavo, iye Josefa, akatengeswa senhapwa.
He sent before them a man, For a slave, was he sold—[even] Joseph;
18 Vakakuvadza tsoka dzake nezvisungo mutsipa wake ukaiswa mumatare esimbi,
They forced, into a fetter, his foot, Into the iron, entered his soul;
19 kusvikira zvaakareva zvazadziswa, kusvikira shoko raJehovha raratidza kutendeka kwake.
Until the time when his word came to pass, Speech of Yahweh, proved him;
20 Mambo akatuma shoko kuti asunungurwe, vatongi vavanhu vakamuregedza.
The king sent, and set him free, One having dominion over peoples, yet loosed he his bonds;
21 Akamuita tenzi weimba yake, nomutongi wepfuma yake yose,
He appointed him lord to his household, And one having dominion over all he possessed;
22 kuti arayire machinda ake sezvaaida uye adzidzise vakuru vake njere.
That he might bind his rulers as he pleased, And, his elders, he might embue with wisdom.
23 Ipapo Israeri akapinda muIjipiti; Jakobho akagara somweni munyika yaHamu.
So Israel came into Egypt, And, Jacob, sojourned in the land of Ham;
24 Jehovha akawanza vanhu vake chose; akavaita vazhinji kwazvo kupinda vavengi vavo,
And he made his people exceeding fruitful, —And caused them to become stronger than their adversaries.
25 avo vaakashandura mwoyo yavo kuti ivenge vanhu vake, kuti varangane pamusoro pavaranda vake.
He let them turn their heart—To hate his people, To deal treacherously with his servants;
26 Akatuma Mozisi muranda wake, naAroni, waakanga asarudza.
He sent Moses his servant, Aaron, whom he had chosen.
27 Vakaita zviratidzo zvinoshamisa pakati pavo, izvo zvishamiso zvake munyika yaHamu.
He set among them his threatening signs, And his wonders, in the land of Ham;
28 Akatumira rima akaita kuti nyika ive murima, nokuti havana kumukira shoko rake here?
He sent darkness, and made it dark, But they rebelled against his words;
29 Akashandura mvura yavo zhinji ikava ropa, zvikaita kuti hove dzavo dzife.
He turned their waters into blood, And so caused their fish to die;
30 Nyika yavo yakazara namatatya, akapinda mudzimba dzamadzimambo avo.
Their land swarmed with frogs, In the chambers of their kings!
31 Akataura mapupira enhunzi akauya, nenda munyika yavo yose.
He spake, and there came in the gad-fly, Gnats, in all their bounds;
32 Akashandura mvura yavo ikava chimvuramabwe, nemheni munyika yavo yose;
He made their showers—hail, A fire flaming throughout their land;
33 akarova mizambiringa yavo nemionde yavo, akaparadza miti yomunyika yavo.
And he smote their vines, and their fig-trees, And brake in pieces the trees of their bounds;
34 Akataura, mhashu dzikauya, namagutaguta asingaverengeki;
He spake—then came the swarming locust, —The devouring locust, and that without number;
35 zvakadya miriwo minyoro yose munyika yavo, zvikadya zvibereko zvevhu ravo.
And devoured all the herbage in their land, And devoured the fruit of their ground.
36 Ipapo akarova matangwe munyika yavo, zvibereko zvokutanga zvesimba roujaya hwavo.
Then smote he every firstborn in their land, The beginning of all their strength;
37 Akabudisa Israeri akaremerwa nesirivha negoridhe, kwakanga kusina akagumburwa pakati pamarudzi avo.
Thus brought he them forth, with silver and gold, Nor was there, throughout his tribes, one that faltered;
38 Ijipiti yakafara pavakabva, nokuti kutya vaIsraeri kwakanga kwavabata.
Egypt rejoiced when they went out, For the dread of them had fallen upon them.
39 Akatatamura gore rikava chifukidzo, uye moto kuti uvhenekere usiku.
He spread out a cloud as a covering, And fire, to give light by night,
40 Vakakumbira, iye akavauyisira zvihuta, uye akavagutsa nechingwa chakabva kudenga.
They asked, and he brought in the quail, —And, with the bread of the heavens, he satisfied them;
41 Akazarura dombo, mvura ikatubuka; ikayerera mugwenga sorwizi.
He opened the rock, and there gushed forth waters, They flowed along, through parched places, as a river;
42 Nokuti akarangarira mhiko yake tsvene yaakapa Abhurahama muranda wake.
For he remembered his holy word, With Abraham his servant.
43 Akabudisa vanhu vake nomufaro, vasanangurwa vake nokupembera kwomufaro;
Thus brought he forth his people with gladness, —With shouts of triumph, his chosen ones;
44 akavapa nyika dzendudzi, vakagara nhaka yakanga yatamburirwa navamwe,
And gave them, the lands of the nations, And, of the toil of the peoples, took they possession:
45 kuti vachengete zvaakatema uye vacherechedze mirayiro yake. Rumbidzai Jehovha.
In order that they might observe his statutes, And, over his laws, might keep watch, Praise ye Yah.
