1 Munhu anoramba akaomesa mutsipa wake mushure mokutsiurwa kazhinji achaparadzwa nokukurumidza, kusina chingamubatsira.
He that being often reproved stiffeneth his neck, suddenly shall be hurt, and there be no healing.
2 Kana vakarurama vachiwanda, vanhu vanofara; asi kana vakaipa vachitonga, vanhu vanogomera.
When the righteous become great, the people rejoice, but, when a lawless man beareth rule, a people sigh.
3 Munhu anoda uchenjeri anouyisa mufaro kuna baba vake, asi anoshamwaridzana nechifeve anoparadza pfuma yake.
A man who loveth wisdom, gladdeneth his father, but, a companion of harlots, destroyeth wealth.
4 Nokururamisira mambo anosimbisa nyika, asi uyo anokara fufuro anoiparadza.
A king, by justice, shall establish a land, —but, a man open to bribes, bringeth it to ruin.
5 Ani naani anonyengera muvakidzani wake anodzikira tsoka dzake mumbure.
A man who flattereth his neighbour, spreadeth, a net, over his steps.
6 Munhu akaipa anoteyiwa nezvivi zvake, asi munhu akarurama anogona kuimba uye agofara.
In the transgression of a wicked man, is a snare, but, the righteous, doth shout in triumph and rejoice.
7 Vakarurama vane hanya nokururamisirwa kwavarombo, asi vakaipa havana hanya naizvozvo.
The righteous doth acknowledge the plea of the poor, but, the lawless, regardeth not knowledge.
8 Vatuki vanomutsa bope muguta, asi vanhu vakachenjera vanodzora kutsamwa.
Men given to mockery, inflame a city, —but, wise men, turn away anger.
9 Kana munhu akachenjera akaenda kumatare nebenzi, benzi rinotsamwa uye rigotuka, zvokuti hapangavi norugare.
A wise man pleading with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no settlement.
10 Vanhu vanofarira kudeura ropa vanovenga munhu akarurama, uye vanotsvaka kuuraya vakarurama.
Blood-thirsty men, hate the blameless man, and, as for the upright, they seek his life.
11 Benzi rinobudisa hasha dzaro dzose, asi munhu akachenjera anozvibata.
All his anger, doth a dullard let go, but, a wise man, by keeping it back, stilleth it.
12 Kana mutongi akateerera nhema machinda ake ose achava akaipa.
When a ruler giveth heed to the word of falsehood, all his attendants, become lawless.
13 Murombo nomunhu anomanikidza vakafanana pachinhu ichi: Jehovha ndiye anoita kuti meso avo vose aone.
The poor man and the man of usury, meet together, he that enlighteneth the eyes of them both, is Yahweh.
14 Kana mambo akatonga varombo nokururamisira, chigaro chake choushe chinogara chakachengetedzeka nguva dzose.
When a king judgeth faithfully the poor, his throne, to futurity, shall be established.
15 Shamhu yokuranga inopa uchenjeri, asi mwana anosiyiwa akadaro achanyadzisa mai vake.
A rod with rebuke, giveth wisdom, but, a youth unrestrained, bringeth shame to his mother.
16 Kana vakaipa vachiwanda, nezvivi zvinowandawo, asi vakarurama vachaona kuwa kwavo.
When the lawless become great, transgression increaseth, but, the righteous, shall behold, their ruin.
17 Ranga mwanakomana wako, ipapo achakupa rugare; achauyisa mufaro kumweya wako.
Correct thy son, that he may give thee rest, that he may give delight to thy soul.
18 Pasina chizaruro, vanhu vanoramba kuzvidzora; asi akaropafadzwa uyo anochengeta murayiro.
Where there is no vision, a people is let loose, but, he that keepeth instruction, how happy is he!
19 Muranda haarayirwi namashoko zvawo chete, nokuti kunyange achinzwisisa, haangadaviri.
By words, a servant will not be corrected, though he perceiveth, yet is there no answer.
20 Unoona here munhu anotaura achikurumidza? Benzi rine tariro zhinji kupfuura iye.
Thou hast seen a man hasty in his words, —there is, more hope of a dullard, than of him.
21 Kana munhu akaregerera muranda wake kubva paudiki, achazotarisira kodzero dzomwanakomana pakupedzisira.
He that dealeth tenderly with his servant from childhood, in his after life, shall have him for a son.
22 Munhu akashatirwa anomutsa kupesana, uye munhu ane hasha anoita zvivi zvizhinji.
A man given to anger, stirreth up strife, and, he that exceedeth in wrath, aboundeth in transgression.
23 Kuzvikudza kwomunhu kunomudzikisira pasi, asi munhu ane mweya wokuzvininipisa achawana kukudzwa.
The loftiness of a man, layeth him low, —but, one of a lowly spirit, shall attain unto honour.
24 Anoshamwaridzana nembavha anozvivenga iye pachake; anoiswa pasi pemhiko, asi haangakwanisi kupa uchapupu.
He that shareth with a thief, hateth himself, an oath, he heareth, yet may not tell.
25 Kutya munhu kuchava musungo, asi ani naani anovimba naJehovha achagara akachengetedzeka.
The fear of man, setteth a snare, but, he that trusteth in Yahweh, shall be placed on high.
26 Vazhinji vanotsvaka nyasha kumutongi, asi kururamisirwa kwomunhu kunobva kuna Jehovha.
Many, seek the face of a ruler, but, from Yahweh, is the sentence of each one.
27 Vakarurama vanovenga vasina kutendeka; vakaipa vanovenga vakarurama.
An abomination to the righteous, is the man of perversity, and, an abomination to the lawless, is a man of straightforward way.
