1 Shure kwedenda Jehovha akati kuna Mozisi naEreazari mwanakomana waAroni, muprista,
And it came to pass, after the plague, that Yahweh spake unto Moses, and unto Eleazar son of Aaron the priest, saying:
2 “Verengai ungano yose yavaIsraeri nemhuri dzavo, vose vana makore makumi maviri kana anodarika vanogona kurwa muhondo yaIsraeri.”
Reckon ye up the sum of all the assembly of the sons of Israel from twenty years old and upwards, by their ancestral houses, —every one able to go forth to war in Israel.
3 Saka Mozisi naEreazari muprista vakataura navo pamapani eMoabhu paJorodhani nechokumhiri kweJeriko vakati,
So then Moses and Eleazar the priest spake with them, in the waste plains of Moab, —by the Jordan near Jericho saying:
4 “Verengai varume vana makore makumi maviri kana anodarika, sezvakarayirwa Mozisi naJehovha.” Ava ndivo vaIsraeri vakabuda kubva muIjipiti:
From twenty years old and upwards, As Yahweh commanded Moses, and the sons of Israel, who had come forth out of the land of Egypt.
5 Zvizvarwa zvaRubheni mwanakomana wedangwe waIsraeri zvaiva: Hanoki, kwakabva mhuri yaHanoki; Paru, kwakabva mhuri yaParu;
Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, —the sons of Reuben, To Hanoch, pertained the family of the Hanochites; To Pallu, the family of the Palluites;
6 Hezironi, kwakabva mhuri yaHezironi; Kami, kwakabva mhuri yaKami.
To Hezron, the family of the Hezronites, —To Carmi, the family of the Carmites.
7 Idzi ndidzo dzakanga dziri mhuri dzaRubheni; vakaverengwa vakanga vari zviuru makumi mana nezvitatu, namazana manomwe ana makumi matatu.
These, are the families of the Reubenites, —and they who were numbered of them were found to be—forty-three thousand, and seven hundred, and thirty.
8 Mwanakomana waParu akanga ari Eriabhi,
Now, the sons of Pallu, were Eliab;
9 uye vanakomana vaEriabhi vakanga vari Nemueri, Dhatani naAbhiramu. Dhatani naAbhiramu ndivo vatungamiri veungano vaya vakamukira Mozisi naAroni uye vakanga vari pakati pavateveri vaKora pavakamukira Jehovha.
and the sons of Eliab, Nemuel, and Dathan and Abiram, —The same, Dathan and Abiram, notable men of the assembly, who contended against Moses and against Aaron in the assembly of Korah, when they contended against Yahweh;
10 Nyika yakashamisa muromo wayo ikavamedza pamwe chete naKora, boka iroro parakafa, moto pawakaparadza varume mazana maviri namakumi mashanu. Uye ivo vakava chiratidzo cheyambiro.
and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up—with Korah also, when the assembly died, —when the fire consumed two hundred and fifty men, and they became a warning;
11 Kunyange zvakadaro, rudzi rwaKora haruna kuparara.
But, the sons of Korah, died not.
12 Zvizvarwa zvaSimeoni nemhuri dzavo zvaiva: Nemueri kwakabva mhuri yavaNemueri; Jamini, kwakabva mhuri yavaJamini; Jakini, kwakabva mhuri yavaJakini;
The sons of Simeon, by their families, To Nemuel, pertained the family of the Nemuelites, To Jamin, the family of the Jaminites, —To Jachin, the family of the Jachinites:
13 Zera, kwakabva mhuri yavaZera; Shauri kwakabva mhuri yavaShauri.
To Zerah, the family of the Zerahites, —To Shaul, the family of the Shaulites:
14 Idzi ndidzo dzakanga dziri mhuri dzaSimeoni; pakanga pane varume zviuru makumi maviri nezviviri namazana maviri.
These, are the families of the Simeonites, —two and twenty thousand and two hundred.
15 Zvizvarwa zvaGadhi nemhuri dzavo zvaiva: Zofani, kwakabva mhuri yavaZofani; Hagi, kwakabva mhuri yavaHagi; Shumi, kwakabva mhuri yavaShumi;
The sons of Gad, by their families, To Zephon, pertained the family of the Zephonites; To Haggi, the family of the Haggites, —To Shuni, the family of the Shunites;
16 Ozini, kwakabva mhuri yavaOzini; Eri, kwakabva mhuri yavaEri;
To Ozni, the family of the Oznites, —To Eri, the family of the Erites;
17 Arodhi, kwakabva mhuri yavaArodhi; Areri kwakabva mhuri yavaAreri.
To Arod, the family of the Arodites, —To Arelites, the family of the Arelites:
18 Idzi ndidzo dzakanga dziri mhuri dzaGadhi; vakaverengwa vakanga vari zviuru makumi mana, namazana mashanu.
These, are the families of the sons of Gad, as to them who were numbered of them, —forty thousand and five hundred.
19 Eri naOnani vakanga vari vanakomana vaJudha, asi vakafira muKenani.
The sons of Judah, Er and Onan, —but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.
20 Zvizvarwa zvaJudha nemhuri dzavo zvaiva: Shera, kwakabva mhuri yavaSherani; Perezi, kwakabva mhuri yavaPerezi; Zera, kwakabva mhuri yavaZera;
And so, as to the sons of Judah, by their families, it was found that—To Shelah, pertained the family of the Shelanites, To Perez, the family of the Perezites, —To Zerah, the family of the Zerahites;
21 Zvizvarwa zvaPerezi zvaiva: Hezironi, kwakabva mhuri yavaHezironi; Hamuri, kwakabva mhuri yavaHamuri.
And, as to the sons of Perez, it was found that—To Hezron, pertained the family of the Hezronites, —To Hamul, the family of the Hamulites:
22 Idzi ndidzo dzakanga dziri mhuri dzaJudha; vakaverengwa vakanga vari zviuru makumi manomwe nezvitanhatu, namazana mashanu.
These, are the families of Judah, as to them who were numbered of them, —seventy-six thousand, and five hundred,
23 Zvizvarwa zvaIsakari nemhuri dzavo zvaiva: Tora, kwakabva mhuri yavaTora; Pua kwakabva mhuri yavaPua;
The sons of Issachar, by their families, Unto Tola, pertained the family of the Tolaites, —To Puvah, the family of the Puvites;
24 Jashubhi kwakabva mhuri yavaJashubhi; Shimironi kwakabva mhuri yavaShimironi.
To Jashub, the family of the Jashubites, —To Shimron, the family of the Shimronites:
25 Idzi ndidzo dzakanga dziri mhuri dzaIsakari; vakaverengwa vakanga vari zviuru makumi matanhatu nezvina, namazana matatu.
These, are the families of Issachar. as to them who were numbered of them, —sixty-four thousand, and three hundred.
26 Zvizvarwa zvaZebhuruni nemhuri dzavo zvaiva: Seredhi, kwakabva mhuri yavaSeredhi; Eroni, kwakabva mhuri yavaEroni; Jareeri, kwakabva mhuri yavaJareeri.
The sons of Zebulun, by their families, To Sered, pertained the family of the Seredites, To Elon, the family of the Elonites, —To Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites:
27 Idzi ndidzo dzakanga dziri mhuri dzaZebhuruni; vakaverengwa vakanga vari zviuru makumi matanhatu, namazana mashanu.
These are the families of the Zebulunites as to them who were numbered of them, —sixty thousand, and five hundred.
28 Zvizvarwa zvaJosefa nemhuri dzavo kubudikidza naManase naEfuremu zvakanga zvakadai:
The sons of Joseph by their families, —Manasseh, and Ephraim.
29 Zvizvarwa zvaManase: Makiri kwakabva mhuri yavaMakiri (Makiri akanga ari baba vaGireadhi); Gireadhi kwakabva mhuri yavaGireadhi.
The sons of Manasseh, To Machir, pertained the family of the Machirites, and, Machir, begat Gilead, —To Gilead, pertained the family of the Gileadites.
30 Izvi ndizvo zvaiva zvizvarwa zvaGireadhi: Iezeri, kwakabva mhuri yaIezeri; Hereki, kwakabva mhuri yavaHereki;
These are the sons of Gilead: Iezer, the family of the Iezerites, —To Helek, the family of the Helekites;
31 Asirieri, kwakabva mhuri yavaAsirieri; Shekemu, kwakabva mhuri yavaShekemu;
And Asriel, the family of the Asrielites; And, Shechem, the family of the Shechemites;
32 Shemidha, kwakabva mhuri yavaShemidha; Heferi, kwakabva mhuri yavaHeferi.
And Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites; And, Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.
33 (Zerofehadhi mwanakomana waHeferi akanga asina vanakomana; akanga achingova navanasikana bedzi, mazita avo aiva: Mara, Noa, Hogira, Mirika naTiriza.)
Now Zelophehad, son of Hepher, had no sons, but only, daughters, —and, the names of the daughters of Zelophehad, were Mahlah and Noah, Hoglah Milcah, and Tirzah.
34 Idzi ndidzo dzakanga dziri mhuri dzaManase; vakaverengwa vakanga vari zviuru makumi mashanu nezviviri, namazana manomwe.
These, are the families of Manasseh, —and, they who were numbered of them, —fifty-two thousand, and seven hundred.
35 Izvi ndizvo zvaiva zvizvarwa zvaEfuremu nemhuri dzavo: Shutera, kwakabva mhuri yaShutera; Bhekeri, kwakabva mhuri yaBhekeri; Tahani, kwakabva mhuri yaTahani.
These are the sons of Ephraim by their families, To Shuthelah, pertained the family of the Shuthelahites, To Becher, the family of the Becherites, —To Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.
36 Izvi ndizvo zvaiva zvizvarwa zvaShutera: Erani, kwakabva mhuri yaErani.
And, these, are the sons of Shuthelah, To Eran, pertained the family of the Eranites.
37 Idzi ndidzo dzakanga dziri mhuri dzaEfuremu; vakaverengwa vakanga vari zviuru makumi matatu nezviviri, namazana mashanu. Izvi ndizvo zvaiva zvizvarwa zvaJosefa nemhuri dzavo.
These, are the families of the sons of Ephraim, as to them who were numbered of them, —thirty-two thousand, and five hundred, These, are the sons of Joseph by their families.
38 Zvizvarwa zvaBhenjamini nemhuri dzavo zvaiva: Bhera, kwakabva mhuri yavaBhera; Ashibheri, kwakabva mhuri yavaAshibheri; Ahiramu, kwakabva mhuri yaAhiramu;
The sons of Benjamin by their families, To Bela, pertained the family of the Belaites, To Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites, —To Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites;
39 Shufami, kwakabva mhuri yavaShufami; Hufami, kwakabva mhuri yavaHufami.
To Shephupham, the family of the Shuphamites, —To Hupham, the family of the Huphamites.
40 Zvizvarwa zvaBhera kubudikidza naAradhi naNaamani zvaiva: Aradhi, kwakabva mhuri yavaAradhi; Naamani, kwakabva mhuri yavaNaamani.
And the sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman, —[To Ard, pertained] the family of the Ardites, To Naaman, the family of the Naamites.
41 Idzi ndidzo dzakanga dziri mhuri dzaBhenjamini; vakaverengwa vakanga vari zviuru makumi mana nezvishanu, namazana matanhatu.
These, are the sons of Benjamin by their families, —and they who were numbered of them, —were forty-five thousand and six hundred.
42 Izvi ndizvo zvaiva zvizvarwa zvaDhani nemhuri dzavo: Shuhami, kwakabva mhuri yavaShuhami. Idzi ndidzo dzaiva mhuri dzaDhani:
These, are the sons of Dan, by their families: To Shuham, pertained the family of the Shuhamites, —These, are the families of Dan by their families:
43 Vose vakanga vari vemhuri yaShuhami; uye vakaverengwa vakanga vari zviuru makumi matanhatu nezvina, namazana mana.
All the families of the Shuhamites, as to them who were numbered of them, were, sixty-four thousand, and four hundred.
44 Zvizvarwa zvaAsheri nemhuri dzavo zvaiva: Imina, kwakabva mhuri yavaImina; Ishivhi, kwakabva mhuri yavaIshivhi; Bheria, kwakabva mhuri yavaBheria;
The sons of Asher, by their families: To Imnah, pertained the family of the Imnites, To Ishvi, the family of the Ishvites, —To Beriah, the family of the Beriites;
45 uye kubudikidza nezvizvarwa zvavaBheria: Hebheri, kwakabva mhuri yavaHebheri; Marikieri, kwakabva mhuri yavaMarikieri.
To the sons of Beriah, To Heber, pertained the family of the Heberites, To Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites;
46 Asheri akanga ane mwanasikana ainzi Sera.
And, the name of the daughter of Asher, was Serah.
47 Idzi ndidzo dzakanga dziri mhuri dzaAsheri; vakaverengwa vakanga vari zviuru makumi mashanu nezvitatu, namazana mana.
These, are the families of the sons of Asher as to them who were numbered of them, —fifty-three thousand and four hundred.
48 Zvizvarwa zvaNafutari nemhuri dzavo zvaiva: Jazeeri, kwakabva mhuri yavaJazeeri; Guni, kwakabva mhuri yavaGuni;
The sons of Naphtali, by their families, To Jahzeel, pertained the family of the Jahzeelites; To Guni, the family of the Gunites:
49 Jezeri, kwakabva mhuri yavaJezeri; Shiremi, kwakabva mhuri yavaShiremi.
To Jezer, the family of the Jezerites; To Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.
50 Idzi ndidzo dzakanga dziri mhuri dzaNafutari; vakaverengwa vakanga vari zviuru makumi mana nezvishanu, namazana mana.
These are the families of Naphtali, by their families, —and they who were numbered of them, were forty-five thousand and four hundred.
51 Uwandu hwavarume veIsraeri hwaisvika zviuru mazana matanhatu nechimwe, namazana manomwe ana makumi matatu.
These, are they who were numbered of the sons of Israel, six hundred and one thousand, —seven hundred and thirty,
52 Jehovha akati kuna Mozisi,
Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:
53 “Nyika inofanira kugoverwa kwavari senhaka zvichienderana namazita akaverengwa.
Unto these, shall be apportioned the land as an inheritance by the number of names.
54 Kuna vaya vanenge vakawanda, unofanira kuvapa nhaka huru, vashoma unovapa nhaka duku; mhuri imwe neimwe inofanira kupiwa zvakaenzana nouwandu hwokuverengwa kwavo.
For the large one, thou shalt make large his inheritance, and for the small one, thou shalt make small his inheritance, —unto each one, in proportion to them who were numbered of him, shall be given his inheritance.
55 Unofanira kuona kuti nyika yagoverwa nemijenya. Nhaka ichagoverwa mhuri imwe neimwe ichange iri maererano namazita orudzi rwamadzitateguru avo.
Nevertheless by lot, shall the land be apportioned, —by the names of the tribes of their fathers, shall they inherit.
56 Nhaka imwe neimwe inofanira kugoverwa nemijenya pakati pemhuri huru nemhuri duku.”
At the bidding of the lot, shall be apportioned his inheritance, —between large and small.
57 Ava ndivo vaRevhi vakaverengwa nemhuri dzavo: Gerishoni, kwakabva mhuri yavaGerishoni; Kohati, kwakabva mhuri yavaKohati; Merari, kwakabva mhuri yavaMerari.
And these, are they who were numbered of the Levites by their families, To Gershon, pertained the family of the Gershonites, To Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; To Merari, the family of the Merarites.
58 Ava ndivo vakanga vari mhuri dzaRevhi: mhuri yavaRibhini, mhuri yavaHebhuroni, mhuri yavaMari, mhuri yavaMushi, mhuri yavaKora. (Kohati akanga ari baba vaAmurami;
These, are the families of Levi—The family of the Libnites, The family of the Hebronites, The family of the Mahlites, The family of the Mushites, The family of the Korahites, —And, Kohath, begat Amram;
59 zita romukadzi waAmurami rainzi Jokebhedhi, chizvarwa chaRevhi, akaberekwa kuvaRevhi muIjipiti. Akaberekera Amurami Aroni, Mozisi nehanzvadzi yake Miriamu.
and the name of the wife of Amram, was Jochebed daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt, —and she bare to Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister:
60 Aroni ndiye akanga ari baba vaNadhabhi naAbhihu, Ereazari naItamari.
And, there were born to Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, —Eleazar and Ithamar;
61 Asi Nadhabhi naAbhihu vakafa pavakaita chipiriso nomoto usina kufanira pamberi paJehovha.)
But Nadab and Abihu died, —when they brought near strange fire before Yahweh:
62 Varume vose pakati pavaRevhi, vaiva nomwedzi mumwe chete kana kupfuura pakuberekwa vaisvika zviuru makumi maviri nezvitatu. Havana kuverengwa pamwe chete navamwe vaIsraeri nokuti havana kupiwa nhaka pakati pavo.
And they who were numbered of them were found to be—twenty-three thousand, all the males from one month old and upwards—for they had not numbered themselves in the midst of the sons of Israel, because there was given unto them no inheritance, in the midst of the sons of Israel.
63 Ava ndivo vakaverengwa naMozisi naEreazari muprista pavakaverenga vaIsraeri pamapani eMoabhu paJorodhani uchibva mhiri kuJeriko.
These, are they who were numbered by Moses, and Eleazar, the priest, —when they numbered the sons of Israel, in the waste plains of Moab, by Jordan, near Jericho.
64 Hapana kana mumwe wavo akanga ari pakati pavaya vakaverengwa naMozisi naAroni muprista, pavakaverenga vaIsraeri murenje reSinai.
And among these, was there not found a man of them who had been numbered by Moses, and Aaron the priest, —when they numbered the sons of Israel in the desert of Sinai.
65 Nokuti Jehovha akanga audza vaIsraeri avo kuti zvirokwazvo vaizofira murenje, uye hakuna kana mumwe wavo akasara kunze kwaKarebhu mwanakomana waJefune naJoshua mwanakomana waNuni.
For Yahweh had said of them, They shall surely die, in the desert. And there was not left of them a man, save only, Caleb son of Jephunneh, and Joshua son of Nun.
