< Mateo 22 >
1 Jesu akataurazve kwavari nemifananidzo achiti,
Again Jesus spoke to them in figurative language.
2 “Umambo hwokudenga hwakafanana namambo akagadzirira mwanakomana wake mutambo wesvitsa.
"The Kingdom of the Heavens," He said, "may be compared to a king who celebrated the marriage of his son,
3 Akatuma varanda vake kuna avo vainge vakakokwa kumutambo kuti vachiuya, asi vakaramba kuuya.
and sent his servants to call the invited guests to the wedding, but they were unwilling to come.
4 “Ipapo akatumazve vamwe varanda achiti, ‘Taurirai vose vakakokwa kuti ndagadzirira mabiko: Ndabaya nzombe nemombe dzakakodzwa uye zvose zvagadzirirwa. Uyai kumutambo wesvitsa.’
"Again he sent other servants with a message to those who were invited. "'My breakfast is now ready," he said, 'my bullocks and fat cattle are killed, and every preparation is made: come to the wedding.'
5 “Asi hapana akateerera uye vakaenda mumwe kumunda wake, mumwewo kune rimwe basa rake.
"They however gave no heed, but went, one to his home in the country, another to his business;
6 Vamwe vavo vakabata varanda vake vakavaitira zvakaipa uye vakavauraya.
and the rest seized the king's servants, maltreated them, and murdered them.
7 Mambo akatsamwa kwazvo. Akatuma hondo yake kundoparadza vaurayi vaya uye akapisa guta ravo.
So the king's anger was stirred, and he sent his troops and destroyed those murderers and burnt their city.
8 “Ipapo akati kuvaranda vake, ‘Mutambo wesvitsa wagadzirirwa asi vaya vandakakoka vakanga vasingakodzeri kuti vauye.
Then he said to his servants, "'The wedding banquet is ready, but those who were invited were unworthy of it.
9 Endai kumharadzano dzenzira mundokoka kumutambo ani zvake wamuchawana.’
Go out therefore to the crossroads, and everybody you meet invite to the wedding.'
10 Saka varanda vakaenda mumigwagwa vakandokokorodza vose vavakagona kuwana, vose vakanaka nevakaipa, uye imba yesvitsa ikazara navakanga vakokwa.
"So they went out into the roads and gathered together all they could find, both bad and good, and the banqueting hall was filled with guests.
11 “Asi mambo akati apinda kuzoona vakanga vakokwa, akaona munhu imomo akanga asina nguo yesvitsa.
"Now the king came in to see the guests; and among them he discovered one who was not wearing a wedding-robe.
12 Akamubvunza akati, ‘Shamwari, wapinda seiko muno usina nguo yesvitsa?’ Munhu uya akashaya chokureva.
"'My friend,' he said, 'how is it that you came in here without a wedding robe?'
13 “Ipapo mambo akaudza varanda vake akati, ‘Musungei maoko namakumbo mumukande panze, murima, umo muchava nokuchema nokurumanya kwameno.’
"The man stood speechless. Then the king said to the servants, "'Bind him hand and foot and fling him into the darkness outside: there will be the weeping aloud and the gnashing of teeth.'
14 “Nokuti vazhinji vakakokwa asi vakasarudzwa vashoma.”
"For there are many called, but few chosen."
15 Ipapo vaFarisi vakabuda vakandoronga kuti vamubate namashoko ake.
Then the Pharisees went and consulted together how they might entrap Him in His conversation.
16 Vakatuma vadzidzi vavo kwaari pamwe chete navaHerodhi. Vakati, “Mudzidzisi, tinoziva kuti muri munhu akarurama uye kuti munodzidzisa nzira yaMwari zviri maererano nechokwadi. Hamutsauswi navanhu nokuti hamutarisi kuti ndivanaani.
So they sent to Him their disciples together with the Herodians; who said, "Teacher, we know that you are truthful and that you faithfully teach God's truth; and that no fear of man misleads you, for you are not biased by men's wealth or rank.
17 Tiudzei zvino kuti imi, munoti kudini? Zvakanaka here kutera mutero kuna Kesari kana kuti hazvina?”
Give us your judgement therefore: is it allowable for us to pay a poll-tax to Caesar, or not?"
18 Asi Jesu, achiziva kuipa kwavo, akati, “Imi vanyengeri munondiedzereiko?
Perceiving their wickedness, Jesus replied, "Why are you hypocrites trying to ensnare me?
19 Ndiratidzei mari inoshandiswa pakutera mutero.” Vakamuvigira dhenari
Show me the tribute coin." And they brought Him a shilling.
20 uye akavabvunza akati, “Ko, mufananidzo uyu ndowaani uye runyoro urwu ndorwaani?”
"Whose likeness and inscription," He asked, "is this?"
21 Vakapindura vakati, “NdezvaKesari.” Ipapo akati kwavari, “Ipai kuna Kesari zvaKesari, uye kuna Mwari zvaMwari.”
"Caesar's," they replied. "Pay therefore," He rejoined, "what is Caesar's to Caesar; and what is God's to God."
22 Vakati vanzwa izvi, vakashamiswa. Saka vakamusiya vakaenda.
They heard this, and were astonished; then left Him, and went their way.
23 Pazuva rimwe chetero vaSadhusi, avo vanoti hakuna kumuka kwavakafa, vakauya kwaari nomubvunzo.
On the same day a party of Sadducees came to Him, contending that there is no resurrection. And they put this case to Him.
24 Vakati, “Mudzidzisi, Mozisi akatiudza kuti murume akafa asina vana mununʼuna wake anofanira kuwana chirikadzi agomuberekera vana.
"Teacher," they said, "Moses enjoined, 'If a man die childless, his brother shall marry his widow, and raise up a family for him.'
25 Zvino pakati pedu paiva navanakomana vomunhu mumwe vanomwe. Wokutanga akawana mukadzi ndokubva iye afa, uye sezvo akanga asina vana, akasiyira mununʼuna wake mukadzi.
Now we had among us seven brothers. The eldest of them married, but died childless, leaving his wife to his brother.
26 Zvimwe chetezvo zvakaitika kuno wechipiri nowechitatu kusvikira kuno wechinomwe.
So also did the second and the third, down to the seventh,
27 Pakupedzisira mukadzi akazofawo.
till the woman also died, after surviving them all.
28 Zvino pakumuka kwavakafa, achava mukadzi waaniko pavanomwe vaya sezvo vose vaiva varume vake?”
At the Resurrection, therefore, whose wife of the seven will she be? for they all married her."
29 Jesu akavapindura akati, “Ndipo pamunorasika ipapo nokuti hamuzivi Magwaro kana simba raMwari.
The reply of Jesus was, "You are in error, through ignorance of the Scriptures and of the power of God.
30 Pakumuka kwavakafa vanhu havawani kana kuwanikwa, vachange vakaita savatumwa kudenga.
For in the Resurrection, men neither marry nor are women given in marriage, but they are like angels in Heaven.
31 Asi pane zvokumuka kwavakafa, hamuna kuverenga here zvakarehwa naMwari kwamuri, achiti,
But as to the Resurrection of the dead, have you never read what God says to you,
32 ‘Ndini Mwari waAbhurahama naMwari waIsaka naMwari waJakobho’? Haasi Mwari wavakafa asi wavapenyu.”
'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not the God of dead, but of living men."
33 Vanhu vazhinji vakati vanzwa izvi, vakashamiswa nokudzidzisa kwake.
All the crowd heard this, and were filled with amazement at His teaching.
34 Vanzwa kuti Jesu akanga akunda vaSadhusi, vaFarisi vakaungana pamwe chete.
Now the Pharisees came up when they heard that He had silenced the Sadducees,
35 Mumwe wavo aiva nyanzvi pane zvemirayiro akamuedza nomubvunzo achiti,
and one of them, an expounder of the Law, asked Him as a test question,
36 “Mudzidzisi, ndoupi murayiro mukuru muMurayiro?”
"Teacher, which is the greatest Commandment in the Law?"
37 Jesu akapindura akati, “‘Ida Ishe Mwari wako nomwoyo wako wose, nomweya wako wose nokufunga kwako kwose.’
"'Thou shalt love the Lord thy God,'" He answered, "'with thy whole heart, thy whole soul, thy whole mind.'
38 Uyu ndiwo murayiro mukuru uye wokutanga.
This is the greatest and foremost Commandment.
39 Wechipiri wakafanana nawo unoti, ‘Ida muvakidzani wako sokuda kwaunozviita iwe.’
And the second is similar to it: 'Thou shalt love thy fellow man as much as thyself.'
40 Murayiro wose naVaprofita zvakabatanidzwa pamirayiro iyi miviri.”
The whole of the Law and the Prophets is summed up in these two Commandments."
41 VaFarisi pavakanga vachakaungana pamwe chete, Jesu akavabvunza akati,
While the Pharisees were still assembled there, Jesus put a question to them.
42 “Munofungei nezvaKristu? Mwana waani?” Vakapindura vachiti, “Mwanakomana waDhavhidhi.”
"What think you about the Christ," He said, "whose son is He?" "David's," they replied.
43 Akati kwavari, “Ko, zvino sei Dhavhidhi achitaura noMweya akamuti, ‘Ishe’? Nokuti anoti,
"How then," He asked, "does David, taught by the Spirit, call Him Lord, when he says,
44 “‘Ishe akati kuna Ishe wangu: Gara kuruoko rwangu rworudyi, kusvikira ndaisa vavengi vako pasi petsoka dzako.’
"'The Lord said to my Lord, sit at My right hand until I have put thy foes beneath thy feet'?
45 Zvino kana Dhavhidhi achimuti, ‘Ishe’ angagova mwanakomana wake sei?”
"If therefore David calls Him Lord, how can He be his son?"
46 Hapana akagona kutaura shoko rimwe, uye kubva pazuva iroro zvichienda mberi hapana akazoshinga kumubvunza mimwezve mibvunzo.
No one could say a word in reply, nor from that day did any one venture again to put a question to Him.
